Water Magic Training

(A/N: Decided to not change the book title for now. Enjoy todays chapter. Hopefully there will be a second.)

"Will that be all?"

"Yes," answered Jake with a carefree grin. "You are free to go. Here is your pay.... 15 copper coins."

Will cooly accepted the 15 copper coins and placed it in his money pouch before promptly turning around and heading towards the town exit. On his way there, Will gave a quick glance towards the bright sky and slightly furrowed his brows. The sun had barely reached midpoint and blazed over Will's head like a kerosene lamp while a few different colored moons could be seen illuminated by the sky. He had about eight hours until then sun would set and night would come. Taking out a map he had managed to buy off of one of the adventurers who were guarding the wagons, Will opened and scanned for the location of Genesis City.

After finding Genesis City, Will compared it to his current location and measured the distance in between before rolling up the map and putting it back away in his map. It would take two days via foot but the road was relatively safe. As the road led to the City of Dungeons, all the particularly dangerous monsters would've been long since eliminated by the adventurers residing within the city.

Walking on the road that would lead him towards his destination, Will took out his phone and started reading through his status and diligently read through each of his skills carefully.

Will read over his {Spirit Contractor (F)} skill which currently had the best growth potential out of all of his combat orientated skills and started formulating a plan to start training it. After a moment of walking in silence, Will called out to Rina who immediately appeared on top of his head. "Hey Rina, based on my skill description, it says that the more you use magic, the stronger the skill would grow. Is that correct?"

Rina tilted her head sideways before placing a finger on her chin. "I mean, I think so? At least that's what the spirit elders at the spirit kingdom told me before I left for the real world."

"Lets practice using your magic later on then alright? I want you to get stronger and me as well."

"Okay~"

The skills, {Flowing Water Style}, {Impenetrable Mind}, and {Basic Swordsmanship} showed no change while his last skill {Spiritualization} had grown by 1% without Will doing anything in particular.

Before Will knew it, the sky had started to morph from clear blue to burnt orange and Will decided to set his camp. Remembering what he had learned during the wagon ride, Will immediately gathered a few twigs and leaves, some of which were brought in by Rina who wished to help, and started a fire by lighting a fire match into the dead cluster of flammable materials. A large bright orange flame sprung up and immediately provided Will and Rina with some warmth.

After taking out his sleeping bag and making himself comfortable, Will took out a piece of beef jerky and started chewing on it. The rough texture of the dried meat made it feel like he was biting down on stretchy and rubbery sand but Will paid it no attention. Instead, Will gave Rina a small poke in the head. "Hey Rina, wanna try practicing using magic?"

Rina closed her eyes and puffed out her cheeks at Will's unexpected poke but quickly forgot to be angry after hearing the words, 'practice magic'.

"Yes! Let's try practicing magic!"

Rina started spinning around Will's head in uncontrollable glee before settling down onto his lap. She then glanced upwards and grinned when her eyes connected with Will's before reaching out with her hands. "Watch carefully Will. Although I can't really use high tier water magic, I have confidence in my water magic control."

"Is that so," humored Will with a small smile flitting across his face. "And why is that Miss future Spirit King?"

Rina puffed out her chest. "Thats because while I was taking care of your health, all I did was practice my water magic nonstop for an entire year. Now I can even do this with my magic!'

Rina took a deep breath and closed her eyes and focused her magic into her palms. Her face started turning red from the amount of effort she put in to showing off her magic to Will. Soon, a small ball of water the size of Will's head started forming and slowly morphed into a misshapen model of a winged creature.

"How is it, Will?" asked Rina with a very proud expression. "My beautiful creation!"

"Is it a bird?" asked Will with a calm smile.

"Of course it is!" answered Rina with a frown. "What else would it be? A dragon?"

Will couldn't help but let a small chuckle slip out of his mouth. "Of course it is a bird. It was just such an amazing bird that I couldn't help but think it was a Phoenix or something equally as majestic."

Rina giggled obviously very pleased with the compliment. "You are an idiot Will. Phoenixes are made out of fire. My bird is made out of water. There is no way it could be a phoenix!"

Will gave Rina a gentle head pat before taking out his phone. After checking his status, Will couldn't help but raise his eyebrows.

His {Spirit Contractor} skill had boosted up to 84% with only one session.

"... Isn't this too much?"
