(A/N: this is my sixth chapter today and damn.... I wrote a lot today. XD

6/8 the grind is still on!

Also, some minor changes in the story now. First 1000 meters will be the safe zone. 1000 meters to 3000 meters will be the F and E rank zone. Anything beyond will be open sea.)

Will stood at the front of his ship looking out into the big blue ocean in front of him with a peaceful expression. He let the wind pick up his hair and play with it and let it flutter his cloak around like how a child waves around his blanket. A small spray of sea water sprinkled onto the edges of his shoes as the ocean waves rocked the ship to and fro. The only things decorating his sight were the wind and sea.

His pale white mask, that resembled the face of someone with no face at all, revealed two stormy gray eyes that contained dark clouds filled with rain and thunder. His black cloak and hair flowed like an omen of death.

A small fairy like girl popped onto his shoulder before giving Will a small salute. "Phase three preparations have been completed Captain!"

A small smile flitted underneath Will's mask as he complimented, "Well done, Rina. Prepare for the initiation of phase three. We will need full power very soon."

"Aye aye captain!" Said Rina, her sapphire eyes sparkling like deep sea jewels and her sapphire hair twirling like a azure flower. "Will the rain be working with us as well?"

Will gave Rina a slight pat on the top of her head, which she greatly enjoyed and tried to push her head against his finger in an attempt to illicit more pats before simply answering with, "perhaps, we will see."

A sudden thundering boomed in the distance.

With an excited look, Will took out the tainted mana stone out from his pocket and gently squeezed it with his hand. A nervous jolt of electricity ran through his nerves causing a tingling sensation to take over his body.

"It's time," Will said as he stared at the stone in his hand and held it over the edge of the boat.

"Brace yourselves everyone," he called to no one in particular. "We are in for one hell of a ride."

"E-excuse me Sir Phantom? Can you please explain what exactly is going to happen?"

Will gave a short chuckle as he dropped the mana stone into the water and watched it sink into the great blue depths below. "Miss Sarah, I am under the impression that I have already explained what we would have to prepare for in order to survive phase three unscathed?"

"Yes, you explained what we need to do, but we still do not understand why."

Will finally turned around to face Sarah and the knights. "First thing we should watch out for is the explosion. If we accidentally get caught in the upward expansion of gas, our boat will have a high chance of flipping over and we will most likely all lose our lives."

Ten.

"The second-"

Nine.

"-thing is that-"

Eight.

"-once the-"

Seven.

"-mana stone-"

Six.

"-explodes-"

Five.

"-a massive-"

Four.

"-shockwave will-"

Three.

"-be generated-"

Two.

"-and travel far-"

One.

"-into the sea."

An ear ringing explosion shook the entire sea as a giant geyser of steaming water erupted into the air. Will watched the sight with slight amusement as he snapped his fingers and ordered, "Rina. Maximum power."

Rina nodded her head and immediately began raising her arms. The boat slowly lurched forward like an old machine warming up and started to pick up speed.

After confirming that they were heading towards the shore at a decent pace, Will resumed his explanation to the somewhat terrified others on his ship.

"Once the shockwave has been generated, a certain sea monster will get really angry at us. Which is why I stress the importance of running away as fast as we can."

An ear obliterating roar erupted into existence from a distance away causing everyone to flinch.

Sarah gave the open sea a terrified look before asking Will, "What kind of monster is going to chase us exactly, sir Phantom?"

Will gave them all a wild grin. "An S ranked sea monster called a leviathan."

"Oh sweet goddess of the blessed earth save us."

"I'm sorry to say but there is no earth here. The earth goddess can't save you."

Another even louder roar screeched from an even closer distance and a dark figure could be seen from quite the distance.

Will placed a palm above his eyes and let out a loud laugh. "It seems we really pissed her off today Rina. Let's sail even faster shall we?"

"Aye aye captain!"

"Oh goddess we are all going to die," muttered the female knight captain with an expression devoid of hope.

"Goodbye mother and father.... I tried my best," prayed Sarah.

"Don't worry~ About a thing~" sang Will as the boat started going faster and faster while the roaring got closer and closer. "Cause every little thing~ is gonna be alright~ I think?"

(A/N: also, I feel like my chapters have an inconsistent quality of chapters. And a different style of writing. Like, some chapters have horrible grammar while in others it's ok. Some are very vivid and descriptive while others are more dialogue. Some are sad and others are comedic... I'm a weird author aren't I?)
