Eunuch hua was about to open the door, when Kang su quickly pushed it open.

' how impatient' eunuch hua thought.

Empress Kim min joo was lying on the bed, upon seeing Kang su, she sat on a chair which was in the middle of the room.

" Your majesty, your humble servant Kang su, is here."

" Come closer" as she came closer, they started talking in whispers "any news from the inner palace?"

" Yes your majesty, the king fainted some minutes ago after meeting with the ministers. The royal physician is on his way now or probably with him as we speak, but your majesty what if....."

" What if?"

" What if they find out about the poison"

"Nonsense, they can only find out if you spit it out and you'll have yourself to blame, but as long as your mouth is shut, your neck will also be saved, do you understand?"

" Yes your majesty."

" Kang su, Kang su.....Calm down, even an excellent qualified physician can not detect that poison." She gave a mischievous smile." Let's go to the emperor's chamber quickly." She quickly changed her clothes and went out as her maids and guards followed her.

They came to a stop infront of the entrance leading to the emperor's chambers with guards situated infront. She ordered her maids to stay back as she made her way to the Emperor's chamber.

"Greetings your majesty" Eunuch im jong said upon seeing the empress.

"I heard what happened, you don't have to pretend that all is well. How is the emperor doing?"

" He's fine, physician Ryun po is currently attending to him, he'll have a better explanation than I have" he said as he opened the door.

The emperor was lying restlessly on the bed wearing a silky white undergarment.

There were two other strange faces in the room, whom she had never seen before. They were diagnosing the emperor. An old man who seemed to be in his late fifties, with hair turning grey and a man standing behind him who was neither old nor young.

They turned towards the open door, saw the empress and quickly bowed

" I heard what happened and rushed as quickly as possible" she said with a disturbed face" how is his health now?"

"He's currently out of danger, it was just a headache, he's probably stressing himself with work, he needs to rest" he was silent for a minute." He's currently sleeping, but he'll be fine as long as he takes some drugs. I'll send my intern to deliver it"

She nodded.

"I'll take my leave now your majesty, have a pleasant day." They both bowed and went out.

She sat down on a stool, next to the emperor's bed and was looking at him quietly.

' his face is pale and his mouth is dry, this poison really works wonders. You poor soul, who knows how many days you have left...' she was interrupted from her thought by the door which was opened, she recognized the figure by the door, she quickly stood up and bowed to the woman who was approaching them, she's a woman in her fifties but looks younger than her age and fashionable. It was the emperor's mother, queen dowager.

" I see, you are here too" She sat down close to the emperor's bed, opposite the empress, they were facing each other "you may sit."

" Yes your majesty." She said as she sat down. "The physician said he needs to..."

" I know you don't have to tell me, he went to my chambers" she quickly cuts her off.

' did she just ignore me?, Huh!!, Calm down min joo, calm down.'

"Mother....am sorry I couldn't visit you earlier"

" Are you that heavy, that you couldn't visit?"

" Am sorry, I don't understand what you are saying?"

" It's good that I met you here cause I have something to talk to you about" there was a long silence " it's almost a year since you two got married. Of cause the marriage was grand, yet it didn't yield anything"

"Forgive me your majesty, but I...."

" Am talking about a child"

Kim min joo felt as if she was stabbed with a knife on the chest. Queen dowager continued

" I'll like to see my grandchildren or grandchild before am buried underneath the earth."

" We are working on that your majesty" she said with her face down.

" You better do, am giving you four months and I expect to hear a good news by then or else the emperor is taking a consort, do you understand?"

" But mo...."

"That's good" she stood up and left the room, ignoring what min joo had to say.

' you don't know who you are messing with, you're trying to dig your own grave.... a consort?, Low life beings, when I succeed with my mission in this palace, I'll make sure I make your life a living hell.' Due to the provoking anger growing inside her, she suddenly hit the bed infront of her.

He slowly opened his eyes

" Min... joo" his voice was croaky.

" You're awake!, How are you feeling now?, You look uncomfortable, does it hurts anywhere?"

He gave a faint smile, sat down on the bed and held his head a little." Just a little headache, don't worry am fine."

He dragged her close to him, as she laid her head on his chest.

" I'll be alright as long as I have you by my side." He said as he patted her back gently.

" Queen dowager came while you were sleeping, I know am not suppose to say this in the state you are in but....." She hesitated.

" But What" he asked curiously

She stated with tears in her eyes " she said our marriage didn't yield anything, she's talking about a child your majesty..." She sobbed" I think you should just take a consort and forget about me " she turned her face away from the emperor, towards the decorated wall.

" Did she tell you that i'll take a consort?"

Kim min joo didn't respond to him.

" I'll go and talk to her now"
