22 The Queen of the Hearth Part 22

Moving to a foreign country seemed like a pretty good idea. Kamal went to Sukkhi's room and Jassi walked into her room to get some 'alone' time. In a foreign land, there will no danger lurking over her head all the time. She will be out of reach for Renny, Rajeshwar, and the police (if Rajeshwar somehow died because of her).

It seemed like an excellent idea.

After a long time, a ray of hope was making her way into Jassi's heart. Naturally, she wanted to discuss it with Maa.

It was as if Maa was waiting for her to contact. Before Jassi could say anything, Maa started rambling, "No, Jassi, you can't leave. This world is in danger."

This caught Jassi's attention. "Go on," she said.

Maa continued, "As you suggested, I was trying to see what all I can do in this form. I tried talking to Sukkhi and Kamal but they couldn't hear me or see me. Only you can – and then too, while you are meditating or sleeping. I cannot contact you on my own. I tried leaving this house but I couldn't.

Every time I tried, I was jolted with a shock of electricity, though the pain did not linger. So, I kept trying all through the night. With the first rays of the sun, two angels appeared above the wall which I was trying to pass. They looked angry. One of them grumbled, 'Haven't you done enough damage already? Why can't you stay here in peace? We have placed you here for your own protection.' This one had black eyes and black hair and the chocolate-coloured skin.

I asked them, 'How would I know, Sir? I have talked to no one except Jassi since I died. I cannot talk to anyone. No angel, no spirit, no ghost to guide me, to accompany me, to talk to me. May I know how I can contact anyone else?'

'You can't and you don't deserve leniency. You have put the entire Creation into danger because of your stupidity," the angel said.

Another angel, with dark blue eyes and a marble-coloured pallor, looked at me gravely. Then, he looked at his partner. When he spoke, he said in a grim voice, 'I think it's time she needs to know what is happening so that she doesn't make more mistakes.

On that night in the village where you saw the demon and got hold of a drop of angel's blood, much was going on in the world of Angels and Demons. Demons had found a way to get the Gates of Heaven to open up for them. The Gates of Heaven, naturally, block against all things evil and if demons come anywhere near them; they are thrown to the other side of the Creation – where Darkness reigns. No demon has ever come back from there and fears strike the angels' hearts if they try to enter the place to know more about it – until it bursts from all the trepidation. So, we have no information about that place. Even demons are afraid of it.

In the days preceding that fateful night, the demons had found a way to mask the evil they emanate. For it, they needed the blood of innocent, pious people. You fitted the bill perfectly. You were pious and innocent. Your blood would have given them the power to mask their 'evil' and pry open the Gates of Heaven.

However, we came to know of their plan and sent two of our bravest warriors to rescue you. Everything was going well until we had to summon them suddenly because we noticed that the 'Dark Kingdom' is drifting towards Heaven – very slowly and imperceptibly, it was drifting towards us.

Since, the two angel warriors had to return quickly, they had to ask you to collect the demon and angel blood and burn it. They sensed that you were pious and thought you would keep your promise. But you kept a drop of angel blood with you. Of course, you were a child and a human one too. You had no way to know what grievous crime you were doing by this act of yours. The blood drop grew into the baby angel in 12 years' time. 12 human years is equal to 1 angel year and 2 demons years. It has been 48 years since the baby angel was born. So, in angel years, she should have been four years old. If she was a demon, she would be about 8 years old. We had been trying to find her.

We can track Purity and we can track Evil but this child was well-masked by a human's scent – your scent. We could not track her until yesterday. She is about 12 years old now – which means that she is ageing faster than both angels and demons.

One of her angels saw her. She was living in an Ashram. He sensed a danger to the soul he was guarding (as a guardian angel) and went there to see what happened. But when he reached there, the person had already vanished. I mean, he was wiped off the face of the earth. He was not even dead. If he had died, his soul should have been there, his aura should still be lingering somewhere but there was no trace of him. We have never seen a case like this.

He saw a girl there making moves as if she is eating something but there was nothing in her hands. The angel stood watching her. The girl looked at her and smiled. She saw him even when he didn't appear to her. Humans can't do that. We have to make ourselves visible to them as we do to you.

'Who are you here for?', she asked.

Angel answered truthfully, "There should have been a man here. I felt he was in danger but he is not here now."

'Oh! He? I ate him,' the girl replied.

The angel was shocked. 'Don't say such a thing. You should never crack such cruel jokes.'

'But I am not joking. From time to time, I feel the need to suck someone in. He was alone, so I sucked him in. Now, I am full. See you later,' she said as she walked off.

Now, here was a human girl that emanated no Purity (like angels) and no Evil (like demons) but who just sucked a man in (along with his soul and aura). Even demons can't suck someone's aura and soul. They can command the souls of people they kill but the aura is always left behind – which we can track to find out where a human, angel, or demon is.

This little girl was not surprised by the presence of an angel and was not afraid or ashamed of telling her truth to a stranger.

So, he came back and reported it to us.

The entire Heaven and even God are puzzled by her presence. God knows that His Creation is in danger but even He doesn't know how.

You have been instrumental to the birth of this creature. Now, please do us a favour and do not try to get out of this house. It could be dangerous to you as well as to the entire Creation. We cannot tell you more than that for now.'

Jassi, I am afraid…I am terrified. I have no one to talk about it but you. Please do not leave me alone."
