1 The Angel War

Eleonora sat down on the forrest floor, rocking a baby in her arms to soothe it and herself. Above her, she could hear war cries and the clanging of metal against metal, along with explosions that lit up the forrest around her. She refused to look up at the battles being fought up there and focused on the small child in her arms, studying familiar scarlet-colored hair and pale skin.

Leaning back against a tree, she let out a sigh, closing her eyes in an attempt to escape from the reality that surrounded her. Eleonora was only an 18 year old teenager that didn't know the first thing about war other than to end it quick, as her father had taught her when he wasn't bragging about his own battles he had proudly won. Before she could bring herself to calm down even in the slightest bit, a body crashed nearby her, startling herself and the baby in her arms.

Fearing for the worst, she quickly and quietly shushed the little girl before she could wail out and curled into herself, protecting her little niece and making them as small as she possibly could, shaking uncontrollably. What if the body that had crashed was still alive? What if it was an angel? Surely if it was both alive and an angel, it wouldn't hesitate to kill the young princess of demons. A series of what ifs soared through Eleonora's mind, nearly drowning out every noise around her aside from her pounding heart until a weakened voice called out her name.

Flinching at the sound of her name and that all too familiar voice, she quickly stood up with her niece in hand, snapping her head in the direction of the voice to see her older sister laying in a small crater, clearly wounded.

"Demona!" Eleonora called out, forgetting to be quiet with the enemies just overhead. Not a moment passed between her calling out for her sister and going to her side. "What have they done to you?" She murmured, gazing down at her bruised, battered, and blood covered sister. She didn't want to know whose blood it was.

"Eleonora... Listen to me very carefully, I have to explain some things..." Demona began, looking to her precious younger sister. "There's something you don't know, something our parents kept from both of us before they disappeared. Our parents, Eleonora... they were gods. I know it sounds far fetched, but it's true. Here, take this." Demona pulled out a necklace that held a gold plate with ten stones embedded into it, each one holding a different color.

"Isn't this dad's necklace..?" Eleonora asked slowly, looking at it, recognizing it.

"Yes. This held his godly power. Just like mother's crown did hers, and just like this holds mine." Demona held up her arm, showing Eleonora her right arm's gauntlet, that held similar stones as the necklace. Eleonora looked to the gauntlet, then to the necklace Demona had held out for her to take, trying to soak in all this new information.

"If that's true... Why are you giving me this power? I mean, I'm supposed to be watching 'Suki, and what would I do with it anyway? I don't know how to use it, and even if I did, I don't know how to fight, and you know how I am, I'll just screw it up!"

"Just take it, Eleonora. I trust you. I can't go on anymore, and as strong as the royal guard is, they aren't strong enough to win this war on their own..." Demona tried to convince her sister to go.

"Wait, can't go on anymore? You're just referring to not being able to fight anymore, right? You'll live, right?" Eleonora panicked, hurried thoughts of horrible possibilities crossing her mind once more.

"I'm not sure Eleonora, but you must hurry.. For the Demon race." Demona's arms dropped to her sides, the necklace still held out in her hand.

"Demona! What do I do now?!" Eleonora screamed out in frustration, setting down Sasuki, her little niece, next to Demona and begun pacing around, trying to figure out what to do until someone shouted from above.

"There! I've found the princesses and the queen!"

Shaking once again, Eleonora's eyes darted up to see an angel soldier pointing towards her, her sister, and her niece. Quickly, not having much of a better plan, she grabbed the necklace from Demona's hand, beginning to fumble with it until it transformed in her hands unexpectedly. She stared for a bit as it turned into a chocker necklace, then remembered the soldiers that were most likely coming to kill her and put it on.

There was no warning. As soon as the necklace was clasped fully around her neck, an explosion of power erupted from within her, blowing back the soldiers that were closing in. Eleonora let out a scream as she began floating in the air. Wings sprouted from her back as horns grew out of her skull and a thin tail flailed about behind her, each item being jet black in color. The soldiers that had come to surround them were blown away instantly as the explosion of power erupted.

The angel queen, Agatha, turned to the explosion of power in a bit of shock, not expecting the sudden surge. After staring at the spot for a few moments, she noticed Eleonora there in the middle of the chaos with Demona and little Sasuki tucked away in the crater, vaguely protected from the power.

"So, you've finally got that godly power, Eleonora?" Agatha asked no one in particular, then thought for a moment what this could mean. "It doesn't matter. This changes nothing." Just as Agatha was about to charge at the demon princess, the entire area around all of the war had gone pitch black to the point you could barely see your hand if it was in front of you face for most there.

"All of you angels, leave, now! You can have your realm to yourself! Leave us be!" A light source flickered about, gaining Agatha's attention. She looked towards the flickering light, noticing Eleonora had flown up above everyone on the battle field. Her eyes widened in shock as she saw what she had thought was impossible. Two pairs of wings flapped behind Eleonora, one dark and one light, and a glowing halo hung above her horns, clearly the cause of the light as it flickered along with the light wings.

"That's impossible... That shouldn't be possible! What sort of madness is that?!" Agatha immediately questioned the demon princess, not gaining any answers.

"Leave!" Eleonora's voice boomed as a huge portal that lead to the now only Angel Realm and sent all angels tumbling towards it, going through, including Agatha, though she tried her hardest to stay.

Her efforts failed, and everything fell back to as it was before the darkness fell.
