32 Our little Secret. (Chapter 31)

"Damien!" I can feel the warmth of Lavria's hands as she tried to stop the over-flow of blood. My breaths were short and heavy and I felt cold. I couldn't die. Not now. I saw Kion carrying out Karina, her muffled screams echoed right before my eyes. I saw her struggle and fight to get too me. Something shifted that was buried deep within me. As it rose to the surface giving me a jolt of power.

"KARINNNAAA!" I shouted until there was no more air in my body. The castles lights shook and all Dark was illuminated for naught but a second. My eyes grew heavy and I could faintly hear Lavria's whimpers. Ryan and Drake were shouting around me, Drake slapping my face trying to keep me awake. I was nauseous, But conscious yet I couldn't make out a lot of what they were saying.

"He took her Drake-"

"HE IS DYING RYAN!" Drake said as he ripped a piece of cloth off his clothing and stuck it in my wound. I was loosing conscious fast,all I could see was Karina's terrified face as Kion snatched her away from me. When she told me about him, I could genuinely see her fear. Everyone is afraid of something. And Karina is afraid of him. I told her I would protect her as long as there is life in me.. and I didn't deliver.

"Damien Hold on-don't give in!!" Drake frantically pressed down trying to stop the blood. "Ryan can't you heal him like Karina did!?"

"NO DRAKE! It's not possible to do that, no Nightslayer before Karina has ever healed someone like that! I'm still trying to figure out how she did it!"

"Did she use a spell!?"

"THERE IS NO SPELL IT SHOULDN'T BE POSSIBLE!"

"Will you two stop it He is DYING!" Lavria screams pushing down hard trying to stop the blood. Ryan bends down next to Drake a worried line appears on his forehead. The light is dimming fast and I shudder at the cold. Blood sleeps out of me, red and thick sprawled out on the floor. I see their muffled exclaims of fear as they frantically converse with each other. Lavria tears and Drake looks defeated. Ryan looks worried. But I was awakened by the dismal shriek of my name. Karina. I fought every natural instinct and tried to get up. I could see her, not here but in my memories. My pain numbed and I could no longer keep my eyes open. Silence.....I felt something in me come to the surface, deep and powerful, my skin tightened itself and was healing from the inside. My energy drained and I had to close my eyes. leaving my body lifeless. It was a vast feeling of boundless power. New and limitless. Exhilarating. Never had I felt such overwhelming capacity for power. It felt strange but familiar. Like it was within me all along. It felt good. It felt Dark.

I breathed new air, fresh and clean. My eyes fluttered open to the rays of the sun. I was Laid in a bed, the sound of chirping christened the blowing of the wind. I sat up. My face bitter as for some reason I was extremely hungry, thirsty, awake and tired at the same time. Lavria was fixing the fire and she's turned around. She jumped at the sight of me awake but her shock turned to joy.

"DRAKE! He is AWAKE!!" She squealed and jumped in her place. Her screech was high pitch, higher than I liked. Drake burst through the door, I couldn't tell if he was shocked, amazed or mad. He rushed over to me looking me up and down. Ryan entered waiting for Drakes confirmation.

"Yeah...No scar..." they are both shocked. I look down to my stomach and trace my finger over it. I smiled.

"Can you ask Karina to come please- I need to see if she is ok-"

"Karina is gone-"

"Drake!" Ryan says, they all look pissed. More than I have ever seen them.

"What do you mean? She must of Been the one who healed me.." they all just stared at me like I had horns growing from my head. Right now I was afraid I was gonna snap.

"Can you all stop fucking staring and answer the damn questions!?" I stare at them back wide eyed.

"Do you not remember?" Lavria says crossing her arms her brows furrowed.

"No!?-what-what's happened where is Karina? You got her back right, I mean I'm healed so..she is the only one who can do that..." Ryan sits by me not meeting my eye.

"Karina didn't heal you, you healed yourself..I'm not sure how you did it. But you did-"

"That's not possible..I'm a lightning, healing people is Dark magic, Karina used the Dark forces to heal me the first time. There is no way I could of done it. One of you must of done it."

"None of us did." Drake sighs. I was genuinely perplexed.

"Then how is that possible?! Where. Is. Karina?"

"Kion has her." Drake spits. There is no measurement for the rage I was feeling. Something swirled in me, my eyes went dark and the ground shook. "Damienn!" Lavria shouted. I heard her fright, and forced myself to calm down. As I returned to normal Drake and Ryan stare at me. Ryan opens his mouth to speak. "I think there is something we missed about you Damien. It was baffling to us all how You so easily settled into our ways, the way you accepted us and how your parents didn't. You beat a member of the CREE on your first day here and eventually, you would've become a prince of Valtor... Damien somehow you are connected to the dark forces in ways only Karina is. Maybe it's because your soulmates but I don't think that's the reason. To manipulate dark forces you must have darkness in your blood... but what I don't understand, is that you are able to control forces of light as well." Ryan looks dead into my eyes searching for an answer. Yet after a while his blue eyes quivered. He silently wiped a tear and inhaled deeply. "Damien, I don't think you killed Isla." Drake eyes shot up to me and back to Ryan. "I saw how hard you fought for my sister, and I don't believe you could ever hurt her like that."

"So why did you plead guilty? And why was all the evidence in your chamber." Drake says still not convinced. I think it's time I came clean. My eyes fluttered and my stomach dropped. I owed them an explanation. But the words stuck on my tongue. I breathed hard and closed my eyes.

"Because my father told me too."
