11 A Dance. (chapter 10)

The hall wasnt a hall. It was a large room with no roof that displayed the moon significantly. There were multicoloured lights lit up, lanterns ands cauldrons of fire. People were dancing on the floor in partners elegantly, intimately.

I saw the king in his best dress laughing, drinking and Chatting. He was thrilled. Like everyone else in this room. This really was a big occasion for the people of Valtor. Their princess would find her soulmate tonight.

Some women dressed beautifully winked at me and giggled to on another. I smiled and winked. They giggled and moved away laughing and blushing as they went.

The king approached me and my father.

"What a lovely party!" My father said to the king.

"Yes it's my daughter's 190th how can I hold back!" He said laughing most likely slightly drunk.

I looked around for a girl in a crown. I must establish a meeting tonight to get her to trust me. Seducing her may be harder than initially planned as she will find her soulmate tonight. But I liked a challenge. No sign of her, or Ryan or Drake. I picked up a drink and took a swig to calm my nerves. I looked to see my father and the king chatting and laughing like two old friends. The energy tonight was electric, everyone was excited to see who the new Prince of Valtor would be. There were many eligible batchelors here tonight all hoping to claim the princess. Part of me was hoping to see that woman from earlier. But after looking I realised she probably wouldn't be here. My thoughts were interrupted by the trumpet announcing that the princess was coming. The king sat in his silver throne.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, tonight is my Daughter's 190th Birthday. It is a very special one for me as I only have one daughter and want her to be happy with whoever her soulmate may be. I know me and my late wife would talk about this day since the day we knew we were having a girl. I am so proud of who she has become. I wish this day to be one she will remember for the rest of her life." He looks down.

"It is also very special because today... I am announcing my retirement from the throne."

Silent gasps all filled the room.

"I have ruled for 200 years. I think it's time I handed the reigns to someone younger. Starting from Tomorrow, my son Ryan, will become King of Valtor." The crowd errupted in applauds and smiles filled the room.

Ryan stepped up on stage and knelt before the king. The king spoke in their language for a while uttering a spell. The lights dimmed and the fire lost its flare. The room went dark as the the crown was put on Ryans head. Once the crown was on his head, the light returned to the fire and the lanterns. The new king of Valtor had been crowned.

"King Ryan Darvos of Valtor!"

Once again, applauses and smiles filled the room as everyone was shouting

"Long Live the king!" I looked at my father. His face in utter shock. What will happen now?

Edward Darvos lept off the stage. Everyone thanking him for his services and giving him hugs.

"Now for what we all have gathered for." Ryans voice boomed putting his hands together.

"Everyone, please welcome my sister, Princess Karina Darvos, of Valtor."

She halls doors opened revealing a woman. Not just A woman, THE woman. It was her. The one who healed me. It can't be!

She was the Princess!?

---------------

She glided across the floor people bowed as she past them. Ryan came onto the floor taking her hand. She look ravishing. Her back was bare, my heart fluttered. I felt like I was staring too much, admiring her. I forced myself to look down. She bowed as he was the new king. They took dancing positions and the music started playing. It was an elegant piece. They danced in synchronisation laughing and Chattint whisky they moved. I saw Isla standing next to me.

"Hey Isla why are they dancing?" I asked to seem less suspicious.

"Before we go to The Lake of Truth, the girl must dance with a close family member, so that would be ryan, and mostly all the eligible batchelors in the land." It made a little bit more sense to me now. I smiled.

"Wait whoa, does that mean I have to dance with her!?" I quietly asked in fear.

"Yes." She said with a sweet smile. The dance had come to an end and people all clapped. The room then came alive again. People started eating, chatting and drinking whilst The princess would have to dance with all the eligible batchelors before they could go to The lake of Truth. The music played in the background and people were dancing on the floor. In the middle was the princess and a new batchelor. They weren't speaking. She was just dancing. She seemed cold. Upset almost. Like she wanted it to be over. I didn't like seeing her like that. I don't know why. I just didn't.

-------------------

Time passed and she had almost got through all the eligible batchelors it was just Drake and me left to go. Everyone was getting ready to go to the Lake of Truth so they were watching the last dances. Drake made his way over to Her. He bowed and flashed a devilish grin. He pulled her close. Closer than I liked. His hands wrapped around her almost as if he had claimed her. It made me angry. I didn't like him touching her. But I had to keep myself contained so I watched very very closely. I didn't like any other man touching her. But, if he did anymore I'm afraid he would loose his hand.
