Jealousy one level up

Within no time Fiona found herself in the washroom. She slammed the door hard & started the faucet. She rapidly washed her face & slammed both of her palms on the cubicle. She looked herself in the mirror.

"How come he's back? I admit 3 years back I was madly in love with him. But, even after he rejected me, he made my last years of school life a living hell!", Fiona frowned. Then, she washed both of her hands & while she was trying to dry out her palms, the door slightly opened. As she was about to close it, Fiona's eyes grew wide with shock & fear. She retreated a few steps reflexively. Nick entered the washroom & slammed the door before locking it.

"What are you...?"

Nick took a few steps towards her while Fiona was backed against the wall. She clenched her fists tightly. Nick leaned into her & blocked her way of escape from both sides by his sturdy arms.

"We meet again", Nick smirked.

"Why are you here?",Fiona tried to push him away but he leaned closer,"You're violating the morale codes of conduct in college."

But what she heard next, made her eyes grow wide while she shivered from his disgusting straightforwardness. There was an eerie edge to his voice.

"Working here as a teacher was never my intention to begin with."

"What do you mean?"

"Isn't that simple? I'm here because of you."

"Me? Back then, when you rejected me, I respected your wish & let it go but even after that you made a fool of me because I was just a simpleton. But now, things have changed between us. I'm not the same Fiona as before."

"Yeah, I noticed that. That's why you piqued my interest."

"Let me go!", Fiona growled while Nick chuckled. Then he pressed his index finger to Fiona's lips.

"Just hush."

Fiona tried to break herself free when Nick pressed his lips on her & kissed her hard. Finally, Fiona muttered all her force & pushed him. He stumbled a few steps back. Meanwhile, Ashton had just arrived & used his powers to unlock the door. When the door opened, a slap landed across Nick's face. Then, Fiona noticed that half of the school was outside the washroom.

"That's how you behave with your students? On the very first day?", Madam Principal growled & threw another slap across Nick's face. Ashton barged in & held onto Fiona. Viciousness flashed in his eyes as he glared at Nick. How dare you!

"Are you okay?"

"I'm fine."

"Ashton, please lead Fiona out of here", the Madam Principal said.

"Yes, ma'am."

Ashton covered her with a jacket & led her out. Many people voiced their concerns.

"Did he hurt you?"

"Are you hurt?"

"He deserves to be punished."

Fiona's heart was filled with warmth listening to their concerns. She felt grateful.

--Cafeteria--

Ashton led Fiona to the cafeteria & made her take a seat. He'd a very solemn face & he's fuming. Seeing this, Fiona let out a quiet sigh & pulled him by his sleeves.

"Sit here", Fiona ordered him like a kitty seeking its master's attention. She tapped an empty chair beside her. Ashton carefully observed her face before sitting beside her. He was afraid that she was suppressing her feelings & she was suffering inwardly.

"Are you really okay?"

"Yeah, why do you ask?"

"You're so flustered during the ceremony."

"I was afraid that Nick bring up my so called past."

"What so called past?"

"Actually...I'd a crush on him at school. But he rejected me. I respected his choice & let him be. But soon he started spreading rumors 'bout me saying that I seduced him & dumped him later. He's a Prince Charming in our school. So, naturally everyone disgusted my presence." Fiona sighed.

"Then?", Ashton's face was dark.

"Then, one day he drugged me & he's discovered carrying me into his dorm room. People realized that it wasn't my fault. But, he ruined the last years of my school life. I was too naive back then."

"That's true."

"I'd enough of my school time but I was again striked by Shana's death."

"It's okay."

Ashton patted her head. It lifted her mood & she started to tug his sleeves. She used both of her hands & swayed his arm from side to side,"Then, bring me those 'Little Hearts'."

Ashton cocked his head to a side before pulling her in his embrace, "Let's go."

Fiona responded with a smile.

Faraway, Peter saw them while he was sitting with his group of friends. His expression darkened as he stared at their retreating backs. A girl from the group happily pointed at them and said, "Don't they look great together?"

"Yes."

"My Goddess deserves somone like him."

"They're so sweet."

"My maiden heart is going wild with thumping."

"Oh heavens! Please spare us singles."

Listening to the chatters around him, Peter looked like he would just drill holes on everyone. Very soon, there came a loud noise of a glass crashing. Peter's hand had shattered the glass in his hand and he's oozing blood. Everyone around him was shocked.
