19 Culinary Expert
The same night
Amidst the hectic schedule, Fiona'd almost forgotten to call her Mom & brother. Without much thought, she gave her Mom a call.
"Hey Mom."
"Ah, finally thought of me."
"Sorry Mom. I've been really busy lately."
"I know."
"Is Leon back?"
"Yeah, wanna speak."
"Yep."
Few moments later
"Hey sis."
"Leon."
"How are you?"
"Fine. What 'bout you?"
"Fine. But I'm angry with you."
"Why?"
"You've already forgotten me."
"That's cruel, right?",Fiona teased.
"Huh!"
"Bye for now. Good night."
As soon as, Fiona put down her phone, it bombarded with messages.
[Hey Big Sis. It's Hazel.]
[Tomorrow's bro's b'day. Keep your schedule free.]
[You're coming. No excuses.]
Fiona smiled at her childishness. She immediately replied back.
[Sure. 😘]
[Baking's my job.]
[🎂🎂]
Then, Aunt Rosa entered her room & called her for dinner.
--Dining hall--
Aunt Rosa served a full course meal dinner for them. The table was full with meals & starters & soups. All mouth-watering. Piya was already seated but Peter'd not arrived yet. As soon as Fiona sat down for dinner, she presented her request.
"Aunt, I won't be at home tomorrow."
"Are there any plans for the weekend?"
"Yes, tomorrow's my best friend's b'day."
At that moment, Peter stepped in & heard her words. He quirked an eyebrow.
"Are you going somewhere tomorrow?", Peter asked cautiously.
"Yeah, tomorrow's Ashton's b'day."
Hearing her reply, Peter's face darkened for a moment before brightening up. It's time to execute his #Step 02! 😈
#Step 02 Be the knight in shiny armor. According to the thug leader, you can prepare a mock attack & save the damsel in distress! This results in her gratitude & paves your way to great closer, which other way proves your rival's unworthiness.
As a result, Peter quickly retired to his room after dinner to discuss their plan for tomorrow. Fiona realized that something was out of order. Firstly, Peter didn't get angry when he heard 'bout her plan tomorrow. Instead, he smiled, more of which looked like a smirk. Secondly, he retired to his room before everyone when he usually is the last one to retire. She needed to find out his plan as quickly as possible!
Fiona went to her room & returned quickly with a book in her hand. Then, she approached Peter's door & knocked at it. Peter took some time to open. He smiled.
"I came to return this book you left at school", Fiona smiled back.
"Did I?", Peter asked curiously.
"Yes", Fiona presented a dazzling smile. Peter was momentarily stunned before accepting the book in a dazed way.
"Thanks." Little did he know that he's momentarily hypnotized! 😶
Fiona smirked at her success before returning to her room. As soon as she entered her room, she closed it tight & used her powers to make a screen-like projection. Peter's face came into view while he's speaking on his phone. She couldn't hear what was spoken on the other end but I'll write what she heard on Peter's end.
"Fiona's leaving for Ashton's b'day tomorrow."

"Yeah, the planned mock attack will done tomorrow."

"Yeah, I'll surely prove my worth in her eyes & be her knight in shiny armor."

"Yeah, she'll be mine very soon. Don't worry."
Fiona snapped her finger & shut the screen. Her gaze darkened quite a few shades & a chilly smirk appeared on her face. Finally, its time Peter. You won't last long!

The next morning
Fiona was up early than usual. She was gonna kill 2 birds with a stone. She put on her best clothes & headed out. As expected, Peter was following her! How shameless!? 😑 Peter had put on a great effort for his disguise. Anyways, Fiona was not bothered 'bout him at all. She found herself a quiet corner & teleported herself into the Witch Palace. Peter was shocked to lose sight of her so soon!!😥
--Witch Palace--
Hazel jumped out of her seat at Fiona's sudden appearance. Nikhil had to check if she didn't fall.
"Oh my!!",Hazel clutched at her heart with shock.
"Come on. She teleported herself", Nikhil was somewhat annoyed.
"Oh!"
Fiona giggled at her surprise. Then she nodded at Nikhil who also nodded back, "Off I go!"
Nikhil vanished at a tremendous speed while Hazel gaped at him, "What's wrong with him!?"
"Decorations."
"Oh, what 'bout us?"
"First things first. Let's bake his cake."
"Okay!"
--Kitchen--
"How can I help?", Hazel asked while Fiona was putting on her apron.
"Help me find the ingredients."
"Of course", Hazel started rummaging the shelves but she couldn't find anything. Fiona sighed & snapped her finger. Within moments, all the ingredients were on the kitchen counter.
"Wow", Hazel exclaimed excitedly, "I was no help after all."
"It's okay!",Fiona said, "Go check out your bro."
"Yes!"
Hazel flew out of the kitchen like a bow. Meanwhile, Fiona took 2 large bowls & 5 eggs. Then, she separated the egg yolks & egg whites in the 2 bowls. Using the hand blender, she stirred the yolks with some frozen butter cubes into a thick sauce. Gradually she started adding the flour & very soon it turned into a light yellow dough.
Next she started beating the egg whites with a pinch of salt. When its texture became smooth & thick, she added powdered sugar, milk & the butter dough. Very soon, a batter was ready & she added the last ingredient, i.e., cocoa powder. She poured the mixture into a cake mould set the oven timer before Hazel came down.
Hazel saw the way she was toiling. Then she said to Fiona, "Big Sis, I must say you're a culinary expert!"
"It's nothing", Fiona smiled.
"There's more to it, right?"
Fiona just smiled & took a bowl. There she put some cream cheese & dark chocolate syrup; mixed it well & left it in the freezer.
Ashton, this will be a day you'll never forget! 🙂😍
