1 Goodnight

Blood sprayed on Seren's face, but this wasn't abnormal for her. Well, it wouldn't have been if it wasn't for the fact that the blood was hers, and not someone else's.

No, if not for the fact that Oriana was the one who stabbed her, then maybe it wouldn't have been weird. Oriana her partner, who she had remained with for eleven years.

The one she trusted, looked up too and even her first love. She was the one who stabbed her.

If it wasn't for the fact that the organization, which she also trusted, had abandoned her just because they saw no use in her anymore, then it wouldn't be weird.

No, if it this hadn't happened, then she won't have thought at the sight of blood was abnormal.

"Why?" Seren couldn't stop herself from yelling. "Why would you do this? Everything I did was for you! I trusted you! I believed you. I thought," Seren halted, calming herself," I thought you were my friend!", Seren muttered.

"It's because I hate you!" Oriana cried. "I hated you since you killed my brother because that's when you took everything from me. Now I'm going to take everything from you." The tears on her face were such a contrast from the normal compassionate looking face that was plastered on her face.

Moments after, Seren's legs suddenly gave out, and she fell unconscious. Heaving Seren body across her shoulder, with an unknown strength. Oriana left the room with Seren in tow.

'I gonna to die, aren't I?', was Seren first thought when she had woke up. She adjusted her eyes to the unexpected light of the sun. Looking down at herself, she saw she was nude, and her wound was sown up.

'They left me outside in a garden, on a chair, naked?' Confusion filled her thoughts. Her hand was placed upon the other; her knee pointed left her back straight. If she were to wear a dress, she would look like a noble inside some ball. Confused, she tried lifting her body off the chair, but something invisible seemed to constrain her. Her struggle seemed to be funny as she could hear laughter above her.

"Probably some kind magic talisman that Griffin made, but why can't I feel it?", She muttered before assuming that they must have done something to her mana core after she fell unconscious. After all, she couldn't feel that either.

Raising her head upwards she noticed them. Oriana, Gareth, and Griffin, her traitors.

They stood in a long glass balcony, floors above her and, people she had never talked to or meet. They were giggling, laughing; some had lustful eyes, and others disgust in them.

After scanning the other people, Seren forced herself to look at Oriana, hatred filling her mind.

Oriana's golden hair, which was meant for royals only, seemed to cover her entire being.

It warped around her like a dress, with her pale skin not contrasting from her but enhancing her beauty. Along with the two men, each to the sides of her both wearing black with went with their gray hair and eyes.

"Beautiful outside but not inside," Seren murmured as her eyes meet Oriana. Which told her a message of malice.

'Glad that we on the same page of hating for each other now, ' Seren muttered. Oriana smirked a little, seemingly hearing what Seren had just said. She then turned her head and rested it on Gareth shoulder.

Gareth noticed this and being the hothead he was, sent some kind of spell towards Seren, damaging her body more, after all, she had no magic to protect herself.

Seren coughed up some blood before nearly fainting again. Blood now painted the stone floors of the garden.

"Now now sweetheart, we can have the product be damaged, now can we," Oriana's sweet angel like voice resounded, quieting the people around her.

"Now we start this auction with a little backstory, this here is the nefarious Seren Qigossi, the goddess in the art of assassination, as most of you know. She was born an orphan and raised here by "the organization" for 21 years before we "the organization" decided that we have had enough use for her, so we decided to sell her, after all, what we don't want we remove. Of course, it was hard to get near her as you know, but now that we have to say that it was fun messing with such a pure person," The crowd gasped.

"Let me repeat that we are selling a pure virgin, even I was shocked," Oriana announced. "We commence the bidding of 100,000 gold coins."

Seren's eye enlarged at the revelation. 'Since when did they know this,' Her eyes quivered. 'I need to get away, now.' Seren, like most in the underworld, was broken. She had nothing she could say was her's. Her purity was something she could say remained hers, and now it was going to be gone.

"Ain't that too cheap," Gareth spoke harshly."A killer like her needs something worse."

"Isn't that hypocritical, Gareth," Griffin responded. "Are we not all killers, in some way or another," Griffin smirked as he scanned the crowd and then turned back to Seren.

"Wise words, Griffin, wise words," Oriana said.

Soon after the bidding start. The price soon skyrocketed to two platinum coins and sold to Mr. Dem.

"Goodluck with your new pet, Mr. Dem, I hope she is of some use," Oriana said. "And don't worry, we removed her mana core and disabled her martial arts, so she is just a weak female, who won't be of any harm, isn't that cool." Oriana's eyes sparkled in happiness.

"Oh she will be," Mr. Dem's pimple filled face flashed a quick grin towards Oriana before lustfully looking at Seren. "She will be."

Four years were all it took for Seren to break.

She now lay on the side of Dem bed with no sensations left in her. No hope, no disgust, nothing. She was like a doll. Beautiful on the outside, but hollow on the inside.

Suddenly a faint whisper entered her ear, "Do you want to restart?" Seren was about to sleep like you usually did before she had heard the voice.

"Do you want to restart? It asked again, this time louder than before. Seren could not believe someone could be in Mr. Dem mansion without his knowledge after all the mansion was filled with magic times so nobody could break her out and nobody could enter was and closed her eyes. 'I must be hallucinating.' She thought.

"No, you aren't, look behind you," It said again. It was a glowing blue ball that was floating above the ground. Small blue dots flowed out and in of it. Seren never thought she would ever see it in her life, something only told in tales but never as a witness.

It was a wisp.

Seren scrambled to the floor to pay her respects. Even as an orphan, she had heard tales about the wisps. They were even supposedly higher than the gods themselves. They were whimsical beings that did not fear fate, unlike the gods. They could change someone destiny with just a bit of magic.

"Look up, my child and answer my question, do you want to restart." The wisp asked. "Would you like to go back to before this time before any of this had happened?

Seren thought about everything she had endured. Her sorrows and happiness, her dreams, and reality. Everything that had happened since she had joined the organization.

"I wish to restart," She replied. She still was bowing. "I would like to go back before anything happened. Before I killed before entered this place, before everything."

"My child, please raise your head," The wisp responded."Now if I was to give you a chance what would you do, will you kill those who betrayed you. What will be your motive? I have watched you for many years, along with many others, and I have chosen you to receive my wish, but I worry about how you will use it, after all, humans are humans."

Seren finally raised her head. The wisp could see tears come down her cheeks, however, you could see a trace of hope in her eyes.

She had thought of this long before the wisp had come. When she was still in the organization, she had thought about it. That if she was given another chance, she would do it.

"I want to protect those who are weak. I don't want anyone to end up like me. To be found by the organization, used as a pawn, and then thrown away. I don't want orphans like me to be used as sex objects and slaves or killed as extra baggage. So please grant me my wish." Seren cried out. Crying was something Seren never thought she could do in her life. Emotions she thought were gone, over the four years, had come back while she spoke.

"My daughter, I shall grant you this wish." The wisp answered. "I will bring you back to your beginning, back to before any of this happened and as a bonus, because you have warmed my hardened heart, all of your skills will remain with you. Do what you said you will do. Now stand my child and receive my wish."

Seren stood up as her legs wobbled, due to the aggressive exercise and the emotional breakdown she just had experienced. Multiple magic circles appeared below her, and she started to float. Her lilac hair floated gravitated upwards. She had no way of controlling her body but instead of panicking she just let the flow of magic take her to where she had to go.

'I haven't felt mana in a long time,' She thought. 'It feels,' She paused 'gentle.' Slowly Seren closed her eyes, and she went into a slumber. But before she could blackout, she heard the wisp whisper goodnight.
