Chapter 1: Anniversary

I awoke to the sound of birds chirping a bit too loudly for my liking. To be honest, they sound like dogs being run over by a car.

I groggily made my way to the bathroom to take a shower because no matter how much I hated it I needed to go back to my hometown, I love my aunt too much to not go back.

As I finished showering I brushed my teeth and opened my phone to check if my beloved boyfriend had responded to my messages but it turns out he didn't. I was being paranoid so I checked his instagram account and saw a post of him sitting close to the edge of a cliff as he watched the sunrise. My chest tightened because I knew the reason he was there, I knew who he was with also.

My chest felt like someone is stabbing them over and over again. The pain was tolerable but it hurt so much that I had to calm down or else I wouldn't be able to go see my Aunt.

After 10 minutes of cuddling one of my pillows I finally pulled myself together and changed out of my robe so I could finally go back to that hell hole some call home.

I looked at myself in the mirror and saw one beautiful lady wearing a skater dress and a pair of Doc. Martens.

I jumped in my friend's car Anna, because she was gonna drop me off on her way home.

"Hey girl! How are you holding up?" She asked.

"I've been better but I'm good" I replied.

"That's good! So about the other month...." she briefly looked at me.

"Are you gonna tell him?" She finally asked.

"I won't. I want him to tell me face to face" I Replied honestly.

"Okay, whatever you decide I'll support you. Now sleep! I know you didn't get much last night" she pointed at my dark circles.

"Okay, wake me up when we are near okay?" I asked and she just nodded.

An hour later I woke up and saw the sign indicating that we were already in my hometown. I mentally groaned as I watched the scenery change as we approach my Aunt's house.

No more than 5 minutes later we stopped I didn't have time to hesitate because my Aunt was already waiting for me on the front porch.

I smiled at Anne and thanked her before getting off and watched her drive away.

"My precious little angel! Oh how I've missed you" Aunt Suzy exclaimed.

"I missed you too Auntie" I replied.

Without even giving me time to breathe she suddenly pulled me inside the house and I saw my boyfriend with Elvi sitting on the couch looking like they committed a crime.

"Oh! You're here" I say sarcastically making both of their faces lose colour.

"Heaven? Can we talk?" He shakily asked.

Aunt Suzy looks like she was ready to kill when Keegan approached me.

"Sure"

I walked outside of the house, him following me closely from behind.

As soon as we reached the front porch he started talking.

"I cheated on you with Elvi" he looked down.

"I know." I replied shortly.

"I-" he was about to reply when I cut him off.

"I saw you both kissing by the fountain at your school when I visited. We both planned it but I guess you forgot. It was kind of harsh though you know? Kissing someone on their 4th anniversary as their lover watched silently" he had tears falling out from his eyes.

"Well, I wish you both happiness, I wont ask why because I know I wouldn't be able to take it so here" I removed the promise ring he gave me on our 1st Anniversary.

"This ends here, Happy 5th Anniversary I guess" I gave him the ring and wad about to return inside when he grabbed me hand and went down to his knees.

"Heaven I'm sorry, please it was a mistake" he pleaded.

"You cheated on me with my best friend for a whole year! What do you mean it was a mistake?" I shouted, I lost my temper.

"If you want to know the reason why I stayed for another year, it was because I had no one except for you, Elvi and Aunt Suzy. It broke me knowing that two of the people I love betrayed me."

"Cel please, we didn't mean it. Stop it please" Elvi suddenly chipped in.

"Stop? You should stop. You have no say in this whatsoever you betrayed me. You are a traitor. Both of you. You do not deserve a single ounce of my time now that both of you came clean."

None of them dared to say a word. They knew that if they said another word they would be doomed.

"Now leave, get off of my aunt's property. I do not want any traitors in my life and I hope both of you raise your baby in an environment filled with love and joy. Goodbye" before I shut the door. I saw their parents both in tears and full of rage.

My aunt immediately hugged me as soon as I shut the door and I immediately broke down in her arms None of us wanting to pull away once I have calmed down. If only we didn't hear the ring of that one phone call that would change my life forever I would still be in her arms.
