7 Soul Awakening

Following the end of the countdown, Chad turned into a flash of light that entered a complicated-looking circular runic spell that appeared on the back of his left hand.

Yuuki's eyes opened wide as did his mouth, pain flowed through his body and concentrated in his head causing his body to go limp as his body was forcefully shaken by the currents of pain jolting him wide awake and not allowing him to take a single step toward unconsciousness.

From the outside view, Yuuki's body glowed with a half-black and half-white hue as a drop of his blood disappeared before it was replaced by a drop that was the same as the aura surrounding him. Everything surrounding him turned half-black and half-white. The flames' strength suddenly increased as the flames touched the roof of the cave which was similarly half-white and half-black.

The two colors started to fight against each other, they seemed like oil and water and did not want to mix and instead tried to overwhelm the other.

Fiercely fighting, the two colors stopped and started to converge to create an ashy grey color the same as Yuuki's hair.

Eventually, the process stopped and Yuuki's trembling body stopped shaking as the pain stopped. Moving his body to get up and stretch, Yuuki inadvertently launched himself into the cave wall.

"Ow... wait, it doesn't hurt?" Pulling himself out of the wall, Yuuki expected some marks to be left on his body after he rammed himself into the wall but found none. He looked at the cave but saw nothing out of the ordinary as everything that was happening had reverted and nothing was different other than the self-created hole in the wall.

{Oya? Congratulations on your Soul Awakening Yuuki.} Rather than the gentle female voice, instead he heard a seductive voice that caused his heartstrings to strum out of control.

"Who are you?" Not looking around like an idiot as he did before, Yuuki could tell that this voice was related to the new System but did not know who it belonged to, so he asked without stuttering as he had gained his bearings and the effects of the voice had stopped.

{Of course, I am the System Administrator... not that I wanted to be.} Yuuki still heard the second part, though he now understood that the System did not function entirely on its own and that it needed someone to make it work correctly.

"Do you not have a name?" Curiously asking as if he was not told and did not ask he would never find out anyway, it would be good for him to know the name of the person who would be watching over him from now on as he lived.

{A name? I don't remember... I think I used to, but I cannot remember anymore... I know I did not want to be the System Administrator... other than that, I've forgotten everything...

Taking pity on the voice, Yuuki thought how he would feel if he did not have any of his memories. Then he thought about how he would forget about Hana. "...then how about Hina? How does that sound?"

{Hina? Hina! Hina... I like it. Thank you very much, Yuuki.} Saying it a few times, Hina tried out the name which had been bestowed upon her and thanked him.

"Why should you thank me? A name is essential for anyone to be regarded as a person, don't you think so too? If you did not have a name then did you not think you were a person anymore?" Hina's appearance was unexpected and thus Yuuki was still a little disoriented by her and from the 'Soul Awakening' so he easily accepted her existence as something normal.

{I... don't know...} Profound confusion was apparent in Hina's voice, so Yuuki decided to see what was new after all, the System took an entire day just to unlock... his soul...

Yuuki had gained 40 stat points after he did the math but why did his level increase too?

Your Soul Awakening increased the power of both your mind and body.} Hina's seductive voice sounded again in his ear and her words felt like they were instinctively trying to crumble down his defenses.

"Hey, do you mind not doing that when you speak?"

{Doing what?} Innocently asking, Hina made Yuuki feel slightly frustrated as he forgave her if she truly did not know anything as it seemed she truly was confused.

"Never mind then."

Looking around, Yuuki saw no sign of Chad nearby.

"Chad?! Where are you?!" Standing by the cave entrance and shouting, Yuuki managed to receive no reply but instead was jumped into by behind. Turning around, a small Husky pup that looked nothing like Chad other than the snow-white fur appeared in his vision.

Sure enough, the blue name hovering over his head indicated that Chad was this small Husky pup.

"Chad, why do you look like this?"

{Hahahaha!! Sorry... it's just his name... Chad... Ahahahaha!!} Hina's sultry laugh was truly delightful to hear and Yuuki himself also smiled as he listened to her still laughing minutes later.

{Aahh... Sorry, I just couldn't help it after I heard his name. Anyway, the reason why he is different is that I believe that after you leave this Red Gate, you will not be able to walk around with a Giant Wolf following you wherever you go. Also, you have a new Quest which is related to his change.}
