Intro... Roxanna Hart meets Kappa
It was another boring day at a typical new York high school and with my reputation for being the freaky goth chick that accidents always seemed to happen around... let's just say it might have been better for me to be a loner. My name is Roxana Hart and ever since my parents died in a car accident, I've lived with my aunt in new York so I can continue my education.
"Yo! Roxy, are you heading home?" I turn my head to see the most energetic young girl ever... her aura glowed like the sun with a bright yellow ring, "we can walk together... what do you say Roxy?"
"How do you know my name?" was all I could ask cause I never talk to people and she wasn't even scared of me... it was just unnatural.
She giggles and adjusts the books in her arm, "Girl, you are the talk of the school.... but I just wanna be your friend... it seems we have a lot in common."
I involuntarily blush as I hurry to look anywhere else as we walk. Suddenly I hear someone's voice in my head and I stop walking. it sounded male yet strange... I wondered why they'd be following me. Don't they hear the news.... they must have a TV. I am after all the witch of New York.... Why would anyone want to mess with that. Just then April walked into an alley and I followed and that was when four humanoid turtles appeared from nowhere... I froze.
Either this is really good or really bad... I can't tell. My long wavy black hair and unusual purple eyes caused me to be an outcast.... could I fit in with these kappa?
I fell back on my butt and I'm not gonna lie... I was panicking. Four giant turtle men... yokai! That's it they must be the kappa that aunt Lilly read to me about when I was young. For future reference I am a quarter Japanese and the rest is american... My family was obsessed with turtles and thought they brought good fortune to whomever befriended them. Though I'm not quite sure my parents would qualify these six foot tall turtles that were casually talking to April as a lucky moment.
One of the Kappa, the one with red face markings and a blue face mask, turned my way and smiled... {omg I can feel myself blushing... well for a kappa he is cute, and so is the one with a purple headband.... does this make me a goth furry psychic?}
I've never been attracted to anyone at school... mostly cause they are too scared of me to get close enough to know me, but that one kappa... he smiled at me.
I could feel my heart beat faster in excitement. I had to know if the one in blue liked me.... wait, was I getting over excited cause I've been alone so long and that was my first real social interaction that was not fear based? Perhaps.
the blue masked kappa walked over to me and my heart beats fast again, "Hey, Name is Leo, you a friend of April or...?"
OK, here is an explanation on what's about to happen... when I get scared or excited to extreme degrees my powers get glitchy.... which is what happened. I started to glow an eerie shade of neon purple, which I only know because my aunt told me after it happened once, and a blast of psychic energy burst forth from my body and unfortunately blue masked kappa gets hit and sent flying into a trash can.... I was sooooo busted.
Everyone was quiet for way too long...
"Oops?" was all I could say, and man did I feel stupid... I just blasted the cutest if not weirdest boy into a trashcan, yep not getting asked out that's for sure.
April casually walks over to Leo and asks, "Ya good Mr.Hotshot?"
Leo fumbles out of the trash and mutters softly as he clutches his head, "What a woman..."
I feel myself blushing even more... he wasn't scared, instead he was... was he blushing too?! Suddenly a bunch of laughter from everyone else graced my ears and.... my pale skin turned red as a cherry tomato. I couldn't take it, so I got to my feet quickly and ran. I ran so far I couldn't tell where I was anymore and I flopped down on my butt for a rest.
"Wow, you're fast. Either you are super anti-social, my brothers embarrassed you by laughing, or I'm just not your type but let's face it... I'm everyone's type." I looked up at a fire escape to see the one kappa called Leo and again I blushed hard.
I looked away shyly, "It would be in your best interest to stay away from me... I only bring disaster."
Leo gave me a confused look as he then jumped off the fire escape and looked me in the eyes, "Now what has happened to a pretty young woman like you for you to say that about yourself."
suddenly a black van screeched down the alley and stopped only long enough to... Kidnap me!? oh shit I'm in trouble!
