Chapter Fifty Nine: Changing Of The Flame

Raven re enters the room to find that Ember was now setting up and Penny was on the floor just staring at Ember.

"What did you say..? " Penny questioned, As she stared in confusion at Ember who seemed all too serious with her words.

" We have to get moving, there is war coming " Ember gets out of bed quickly as Penny stumbles to her feet whilst Raven tries to calm Ember down.

" You need to get back in the bed and Rest..you are not well" Raven tried to assure Ember who did not seem interested at all in resting.

" There is no time, we have to get moving. The Witch Kingdom is about to be invaded if we don't do something" Ember's tone was emotionless, something that unsettled Penny and Raven.

" How would you know that"? Raven asked as she approached closer to Ember, taking small steps.

" Don't worry about how I know it. I'm telling you the truth. If we don't get there and stop it. Hundreds will die and it will mess up everything we have come here to achieve" Ember moved past Penny and Raven and headed straight to the door.

" You need to tell us what is happening so that we can better access how to go about this" Raven explained and tried to stand firm to show that Ember could not dictate the situation.

" A group of rebel Lycans who do not find the truce acceptable, are invading the Witch Kingdom right now. They are going to kill everyone and if we don't stop it, then the truce will be broken before it has even truly begun. And then we are going to have bigger problems" Ember assured them that they would have to leave as soon as possible.

" If what you are saying is true then we do have to act quickly. But how are we going to stop a full blown Lycan Invasion. Lycans are extremely strong and we are only three people.

We can't inform the Witches because they will panic and be opposed to the truce even more than they already are.." Raven tried her best to think of a solution but time was of the essence.

" We have to kill them" Penny suggested which caught a stare a shock from Raven. " I'm not saying it's going to be easy, But it's not exactly like we have another choice. If they are truly going to invade, Then it is definitely going to destroy the truce that was set.And I like to think that we're pretty capable so we should be able to do this relatively easily if we go about it smart" Penny added.

" Obviously if this is a set of rebels, Then that means that this is not the entire kingdom that's acting. And that means that whatever their numbers are, It's not going to be immense. It means that we can stand a chance of doing something in secret" Penny had a point which Raven acknowledged.

" Well if you are correct then we might be able to do something. But if we are discovered, I will be executed and the truce will be broken. Regardless" Raven stared at her feet as though she was trying to talk herself into believing this would be a good idea.

" You don't have to go" Penny smiled to Raven who looked up in surprise. " I don't expect you to risk your life for this. And I honestly don't want you to risk your life. Me and Ember are more than capable of handling this" Penny smiled again, trying to assure Raven that everything would be fine though Raven didn't seem to buy into that idea.

" No, If you both are going that I shall go as well. Regardless of the way that I've been treated, The kingdom is still my home and I will defend it to the best of my ability. This truce is extremely important and it must be upheld at all cost. So we are in this together" Raven grinned and nodded as Ember opened the door.

" Well then let's go dammit. We don't have any time to waste" Ember growled.

" But what about the cleansing"? Penny asked to which Raven replied " I guess she seems fine..doesn't she? " Raven winked at Penny who took notice and then looked to Ember.

Something was definitely off with Ember but if the Kingdom was in danger, they would have to sort out the Invasion first. But the wink definitely meant to Penny that she should keep her eye on Ember at all cost and that the discussion was not over.

And to Ravens point, Ember had seemed very different. Her energy was completely different than before. She had a much more aggressive way about her now but without lightheartedness to soften it. Something was most definitely off about her. And all Penny could do was hope that the darkness if indeed it hadn't touched Ember would eventually let go of her or ease up on her until they could get rid of it.

And so, the three began making their way to the witches Kingdom. Ember ran ahead and Raven and Penny trailed behind. This was both so they could watch her actions but also have a discussion in private.

" So how badly she is infested?" Penny asked Raven as they ran through the darkness.

" I would say the early stages are there and if something isn't done very soon, her condition will get worse"

How could things get worse? As though ember hasn't been cold enough after what had happened she's even more cold now. " If we don't cleanse her, she will eventually become nothing but a negative energy in human form. She will no longer associate with us and could even turn on us. People like that..they lose their minds, allegiances, everything" Raven explained.

" She would never turn on me " Penny scoffed, believing that Ember would indeed stop herself before making any violent decisions towards her.

" I guess we will see how true that. But I do hope you are right. But something is off with her. Her energy has completely changed since she woke up. She feels..powerful...and ancient" Raven remarked which was something Penny had also noticed.

" But how can that possibly be? " Penny was completely out of ideas on how or what this could possibly mean. The best guess she had was that this was a completely different Ember.

" Maybe someone possessed her? " Penny suggested to which Raven shook her head.

"No, I don't think that's the case here. It's something else and we are going to have to figure out what it is before we do anything. We need to know what we are dealing with" Raven knew that the Abyss could change people but not like this. It's almost as though Ember had been through some kind of awakening.

" Do you know if her parents were also human? " Raven asked which made Penny think back on some previous conversations she had with Ember back when Ember opened up to her the first time. " I believe so. She gave alot of information but nothing that was super detailed I guess" Penny answered.

" That's strange" Raven said to herself outloud.

" Do you think that she is a Witch or something? " Penny had never really thought Ember was a Witch or that she could be one. But she also figured that anything was possible but Ember had somehow just skipped her radar.

" I'm not sure. Because if what I'm feeling is correct, she would be an ancient one at the least..and that doesn't make sense" Raven continued trying to make sense of everything In her head but she was getting nowhere.

Something had changed.
