46 IMPLEMENTING CHANGES: PART VII

"Lady Tina!"

A familiar voice called out to her as she felt goosebump running up her spine.

'Crap! I forgot to tell Gran that I was heading out to the village.'

Gran, looked fresh, awake from his nap. He was furious as he was trying to catch his breath and yelled as he finally found the girl. "Why did you leave without telling me? Serfred will kill me if something happens to you..."

… Here he goes again. What can I say, I'm not really the type of person who likes reporting what I do. I mean, my every move was being reported to my mother back in my world. And in this world, the previous owner was being reported by the servants to her parents daily. I mean, yes, I am a child. But, inside is a full grown woman. Technically, I'm already older than all of them. Adding my age and this body, I'm a full grown woman.

But, she couldn't tell them that. So, Athena smiled whilst listening to the man venting out his anger. She didn't mind since Gran was not the type of person who'll say anything new, what he said today will also be the same words tomorrow. He might add some bits and pieces there, but technically, he's just saying the same old words.

...Since the incident of my assassination, Serfred assigned Gran and Arthur to watch over me. Since Serfred needs to accompany the hunting team all the time. So Gran and Arthur would take turns watching over me. Arthur was better at keeping track of him, since he would cast tracking spells on me. Technically, Gran should be even better. Since his skills are of an assassin, he also has better sense than Arthur. But, guess we were all wrong there. Even Lirius was surprised that he's really bad at watching over me.

From a distance the girl notices the children running towards her. It was more like they were chasing Fuji who was running towards him. Fuji growled and started coldly on the girl.

"Fuji you're here as well…" Athena said, smiling awkwardly as she realized why Fuji giving her a cold shoulder. "You were enjoying your time with the children. I didn't wish to bother you."

Fuji continued to ignore the girl, and sat on the ground. He was upset and continued to ignore the girl, but was calm since the children continue to play with him.

"Lady Tina, how many times have I told you not to go by yourself." Gran sighed, noticing the girl was not interested in what he was saying as he noticed Fuji too was being ignored.

Athena sighs, for she already expects the next few words Gran will rant about. 'I wonder how he'll start it, the assassination, or the fact we don't know if they've sent another assassin to kill me?'

… In Spite of all that happened. I've been pondering as to why the Empire has not sent anyone to check on my situation. Could they have really expected me to be dead? I mean, if the Queen did send the assassin and the Empress finds out, she'll surely do something about it. I am still the daughter of the duke, and the crown prince's fiance.

"Gran, here, take this." Athena handed the basket of fruits and vegetables the villagers have given her.

Gran carried the basket full of freshly harvested. "Where are you going now?"

"Don't worry, just here..."

Athena checked the other side of the farmland which was dry and rocky. Everyone looked at her anticipating what she'll be doing. Athena paused for a moment and turned to face Gran.

"Gran, how much land do you think I'll be able to restore this time?"

"I don't know..."

Athena smiled. "Let's find out then."

... Yes, my secret was revealed. It was technically Serfred's fault. I mean, did he really need to yell so loud that it woke the entire village. The farmlands are only a few distance away from the village houses. Well, to explain what happened in the shortest possible way. I was restoring the land, and yes, I overdid it again. Unlike what normally happens, I didn't faint, instead I started coughing blood, which not only surprised Serfred but also Lirius. But, of course, Lirius was calm unlike Serfred.

Gran has never actually seen how Athena restores the land since he would always be with the hunting team. As he watched the girl reached out her hand in front of her and started chanting an incantation which the villager named: The Lady of the Spirits

… The Lady of the Spirits is the name they called for the incantation, since for them, it sounded like a song. They said, when I chant the enchantment for restoring or blessing the lands. They can hear, as if the wind is carrying my voice and brings warmth within them.

"Luminuex."

Gran was amazed seeing the vast sparkling light floating in the area and surrounding the girl. It was the first he witnessed it with his own eyes. Arthur has told him before about it, and just by his words, he could already say how amazing it is. But, now, he gets to see it with his own eyes. He couldn't help but tear up in joy.

Even the villagers and children were mesmerized seeing the beautiful light display. Children started humming as if they could understand the enchantment. For them, it was a song of blessing. For, every time they hear such a melody, it means the girl is blessing them with another fruitful harvest, or another land for them to build a better future.

Meanwhile, back in konav manor. Lirius could hear the incantation all the way to his study. He sighs as he realizes he needed to stop what he was doing and prepare the necessary potions for the girl again.

Soon Athena's whole body was surrounded by her white aura. It was the first time that her aura manifested this strong, which could only mean her power was indeed growing day by day.

One's aura is already strong enough to kill a person, which is why magic users hardly show their aura for it is disrespectful at the same frightening to those who do not possess any magic.

Each passing day, the girl's aura was so strong that she was almost on par with Arthur. She was almost caught up to Serfred who has already manifested his aura for years.

In the end, Athena was only able to restore one patch of farmland. She sighs disappointed that she couldn't do more despite how much energy she felt she released. But, her disappointment was the villagre's joy as they cheered for her and rejoiced for the new blessing.

Gran put the basket down as he quickly ran towards the girl's side and caught her before she collapsed."Lady Tina, are you alright?"

"I'm fine, the hunting team should be back soon. Let's go check…"

As Gran helped Athena to stand still, he noticed a portion of her hair was trying white again. He worries for up until now, they still have no answer as to why this was happening.

"My lady, your…"

"Ah, did it turn again?"

"Yes."

… Strange isn't it. Since the day Lirius restored my mana. Every time I use too much energy, a strain on my hair would turn white. Sadly, up until now, Lirius is clueless as to why my hair is turning at all. He has read all the book in regards to what he did and there was no note written as hair turning white as a side effect. Actually, there was no side effect at all. Since, either you live or die that what was written.
