A Battle To Be Won (4)

Diana took one more glance at Commander Dolosus before looking away without even a glance she put the bracelet in a secure pocket.

Just before she was about to reenter the battle she heard an arrow coming her way she quickly dodged it.

'So the archer didn't run for the hills after missing me the first time, well they'll regret that,' she thought before running towards where the arrow was shot from. 'I'll make them pay for killing Commander Dolosus, he deserved a much more honourable death.'

"Diana!" she heard a voice calling out to her as she runs towards the forest she stopped running only to be tackled to the ground by Alex. He had been the one who called out to her.

"Why did....." she was about to ask why he did that when she saw the arrow protruding from the ground. 'It had been aimed at me' she thought.

"Are you okay?" Alex asked as he looked at down at her, she could see something almost like fear.

"I'm fine...thank you." she replied "Are you okay?"

"I'm fine," he answered with a sigh of relief.

"Watch out!" she called before quickly pushing him off causing the next arrow to barely miss him.

"Thanks," he smiled.

"No problem, now if your okay here I'm going to put an end to this archer," she explained getting up off the ground before landing him a hand.

"Okay be careful," he said seriously.

"I'm always careful," she replied before running to the forest not giving him a chance to retort.

'Why did he save me,' she wondered 'no one trys to save me I always have to rely solely on myself and yet he threw himself into danger for me hes truly an odd one. Just like Commander Dolosus did how odd they are.'

Diana ran through the shadows making sure not to be seen until she reached her mark. She jumped out of the bushes poised to attack and before they could dodge her bladesheI slit their throat. They fell to the ground grasping for air before finally breathing his last.

"Your fight is over," she said before going closer to the body to inspect it 'now where are you from' she thought. After looking for a while she finally found it. On his right pocket he has the emblem of Dolus she knows this for certain because theres a Charybdis at the centre.

Charybdis' were supposedly six headed creatures that lurked in the sea. When they opened their mouths tremendous whirlpools would appear sucking in ships and sailors for the beast to eat. However, just like the Dragon and the Phoenix the Charyndis is also just a legend.

'So Dolus wants me dead?' she wondered 'which means either they're going against those monsters that I'm forced to call parents or they're acting on their orders. More importantly he could have some comrades here as well I should check to make sure. However, after I'm done with that I've got to go help in the battle,' and with this thought she dashed back through the shadows to scout the forest before returning to the battlefield but it seems like her help is not needed afterall.

"So did you take care of that archer?" Alex asked as he and the others approached.

"Yes, and he didnt seem to have any accomplices," she answered flatly while looking out at the bloodstained field around her littered with bodies both Nobilis and Fortis.

"That's good," Crystal replied with half a smile.

"But weren't all their accomplices already here as we were battling them?" Maddy asked.

"No because the archer wasnt from Nobilis,"

"WHAT!?!?!?" They all except for Alex screamed.

"Dont yell," Alex reprimanded them before turning to Diana "but what do you mean that the archer wasnt from Nobilis and how do you know?"

"Simple really, I recognized the Crest on his pocket," Diana began explaining pulling out the Crest from her pocket and handing it to Alex "also his fighting style is to dishonourable to be from Nobilis or Fortis. I can also tell you he is or was rather an archer from Dolus one because of the crest , two his weapon only a few people know this but if you look carefully at an arrows head they're all a dark shade of each countries colour. For instance an arrow head from Fortis is a deep shade of blue and can only be made in Fortis. Three I'd seen that man before."

"What do you mean you'd seen him before?" Hunter asked her.

"The short version is I ran into him once when he came to visit my parents I wasnt suppose to meet him it was around the time I'd begun rebelling against them. However, on my way to the library I ran into him I walked past him but he got irritated by something I could tell he was already in a bad mood and so he turned around and yelled out to me I politely turnt around to see what he wanted. He walked towards me before slapping me hard twice on each cheek I simply glared at him and walked away all the while he yelled at me to come back." Diana explained to them "He was a plague on this Earth and if I didn't deal with him today it would fall to someone else and who knows how many lives he would have took by then."

"So does that mean Dolus is joining Nobilis in the war?" Kylos tone had an etch of fear in it.

"No, intentional or not he killed one of the commanders of Nobilis and to add to that Dolus does what's best for them and I don't believe Nobilis would ever use such methods not even to get what they want. Besides Malum and Dolus have always had a secret alliance and Malum, I believe may have greater concerns right now then this war."

"What do you mean they have greater concerns then the war?" Alex asked whith interest.

"Let's just say someone who could pose to be a threat to them in the future and who can make them look weak has managed to flee Malum and if I were the royal family of Malum I'd be worried." Diana answered after all if anyone can stop Malum it's most likely her.

"Why are you always so mysterious and cryptic?" Kylo asked exasperated.

"Am I though?" Diana asked causing Crystal, Hunter, Maddy and Kylo to moan "Well I'll be off now I'm sure you can handle things here and I need to tend to an errand," Diana left before giving them a chance to reply.

"She's a strange one, no doubt about it," Hunter mused.

Before they all started the clean up.
