3 Surprise

- Ah hello my beauty!

Ivy turned around and smiled broadly at her friends as they walked towards her in a pleasant hubbub of laughter, color, and a breath of joy and incredible youth.

- Hi, guys. How are you doing?

There were three of them. Two girls, blonde and brunette and a blonde boy. The blonde girl named Linelle, dressed in a short green and white striped dress, wearing countless bracelets on her thin wrists and whose long curly hair was held in a loose bun, stopped right in front of her and kissed her on the cheek before laughing at her.

- I knew we'd find you here beauty! Always there!

- After having, however, checked first in the big library, the brunette confessed with an air falsely innocent, which aimed in fact her friend Linelle.

- Thank you for making it so clear my precious and loyal friend, the latter replied ironically but indulgently. Anyway, we found you, that's the main thing.

- Of course. You know me!

- Yes, and a little too much in fact. You know we don't have class this week? So we have the privilege and the duty to take advantage of it to party and spend time together with friends, in other words to live life to the fullest, instead of locking ourselves in this kind of sinister and boring place. And you, meanwhile, what are you doing, wasting your precious days admiring your dear little animals!

Ivy regarded her friend with tender irony. Linelle was what everyone should call, a spark. She had chosen communication as her major, which suited her perfectly because of her expansive, lighthearted and always cheerful nature. Without studying much like Ivy, she always got good grades and attracted the sympathy of the teachers with her sincerity and bright vitality. But she was above all a girl of parties and outings with friends, of leisure and parties of all kinds. And she displayed it easily by pointing with a gesture full of contempt to her friend's favorite place.

Ivy raised her eyes to the sky.

- I am sure that you passed the word! It is the second time of the day that I hear this refrain!

- I'm sure it is!" Linelle replied, mockingly.

Pursing her lips, Ivy resumed the conversation.

- I love this place, okay? And I'm taking advantage of these rare moments of freedom to learn more about them.

- Which we think are pretty deep for your age. Concluded falsely admiring, his blond friend named Roj, sublime in a blue polo shirt with very chic orange and yellow striped shorts. Ivy smiled at him and shook her head. This boy friend of hers was as bright as he was outgoing. He had such an endearing personality that was devoid of artifice. He was a true tribute to his family, an illustrious dynasty as rich as it was noble, famous throughout the land. Blue blood in all its splendor.

- It will never be enough for me. Ivy solemnly declared, holding his intense gaze.

- We know you so well," he replied, kissing her on the shoulders.

- I know, I know. I'm as clear as crystal to you.

- And it's because we're well aware of this intoxicating passion you have for these things," he added, pointing carelessly at the fleeing Groul who was eyeing them suspiciously, "that we've come to seek you out and inform you personally of news that will surely please you for years to come.

When she heard her friend, her expression changed and she stared at the group of young people with a very curious and impatient emerald look.

- Well, I'm all ears! she exclaimed, almost annoyed. Do not make me wait one second more to tell me this great news.

- Yes, but not here, exclaimed the brunette, in a very short jean and a black t-shirt printed of an abstract diagram. The tanned and smiling face, framed by a short and elegant haircut.

- Come on," Linelle continued, taking her by the hand, "let's leave this place and go to Brance's for a good ice cream. You like ice cream, right? Although they are not creatures.

- Aha! Very funny! I just hope for our sake there's still a table available. Ivy noted with an ironic and amused tone, while leaving the Center, ready to follow her companions anywhere to discover this news surely very important for that her friends individualistic and so busy enjoying life, had embarrassed to move in person to tell it to her in person.

- If not, the pots will simply be taken and eaten in the park under a hundred-year-old tree. That's what we always do.

- What? We never do that, or very rarely. shouted the brunette with the exotic name Sahidi, with a disdainful grimace. But if we go anyway, there are bound to be a lot of animals around us, not to mention the trees that may sing in our ears with their dull, scary tones.

- So what? Don't you like it?

- Of course not. Their musical whispers give me the creepy chills.

- You can always cover your ears with your magic.

- And we could just as easily find another place! More attractive and silent. Sahidi insisted with a little shiver of fear and revulsion.

Roj also kissed her friend's shoulders before wrapping a protective arm around them.

- Don't worry, my dear. No tree or creature will ever bother you as long as I am with you. For if anyone or anything should ever sing for you, it will only be me.

The couple looked at each other with joy and tenderness, although Sahidi was still obviously doing her best to keep her feelings in check.

Ivy and Linelle exchanged a more than understanding look.

- I wonder why they don't go out together and finally put an end to this whole scene that is already too revealing.

- The pleasure of the wait no doubt. Declared the blonde while rolling eyes, very amused and sure of it. The preliminaries, the exhilarating sensation to skim the line without however passing through. This period is really magic, and I know something of it.

- And I don't understand that there's anything good to look forward to.

Linelle laughed.

- Don't take this the wrong way, but you're really not in a position to give advice about love relationships, honey!

- What else are you implying? Ivy asked, her eyes narrowing.

- It's obvious though. You suck at feelings!

Ivy shook her head.

- But that's just incredible! I'm sure that you and Mr. Cole, the chief in charge of the center," she explained willingly, "had discussed me behind my back or else you simply shared the same incisive and twisted mind! Imagine that he told me the same thing!

- Because it's true!

- No! Of course not!

- Yes, it's obvious you still don't know anything about this immutable and absolutely vital field! But I know that one day you will know what love is, princess. And I can already guess from here that you will inevitably be one of those who love fully and without limits. And it will be terrible.

Ivy remained silent for a few minutes before replying.

- Then the best thing to do would probably be to never know it, this love that you portray as something totally immoderate.

Linelle laughed heartily.

- No, my dear, not you! And truth be told, feelings don't run away. It's just not possible Ivy. As impossible as it is to influence the course of time. As impossible as it is for you to stop loving your rare and incomparable creatures.

- We'll see about that," she challenged.
