Lady Chang frowned upon seeing this. "Sister Shen, this is not the place to get temperamental. It's one thing for you to get in trouble, but to involve His Highness, that's something you cannot afford."

"Your Highness," Shen Chuwei expressed, indicating that she didn't want to meddle too much, but she simply couldn't ignore this matter.

Xiao Jinyan did not pay any attention to Lady Chang. He knew Shen Chuwei was not the kind of person to throw a tantrum; in her eyes, there was only food.

"Speak."

Shen Chuwei leaned into his ear and whispered at a volume meant for just the two of them, "Your Highness, can I go with you, please?"

Xiao Jinyan's gaze halted, almost thinking he had heard wrong, "That is a wolf, aren't you afraid?"

Shen Chuwei's eyes curved, revealing two pointed little canine teeth, "With Your Highness present, I'm not afraid."

Xiao Jinyan stared at her clear, translucent eyes for a while before saying, "Then let's go together."
