Chapter 18: Considerate

Shen Chuwei smiled and continued to eat her meal while picking up more dishes.

Xiao Jinyan pointed to another dish and asked, "And what is this?"

Shen Chuwei answered, "Green bean sprouts." They were the first batch of sprouts!

"This soup..."

"Chive and egg soup."

Xiao Jinyan glanced over the dishes before him, a hint of confusion flashing in his eyes, "Why has this palace never tasted these dishes before?"

These ancient dishes don't exist, where could you possibly have eaten them?

Shen Chuwei fabricated a story, "These vegetables all grow in the wild, naturally Your Highness hasn't tasted them before."

Xiao Jinyan then asked, "You dwell in the Imperial Palace, so how did these vegetables come about?"

Eh! Shen Chuwei murmured softly, "…I grew them myself."

A trace of surprise flickered across Xiao Jinyan's typically cold gaze, "You know how to grow vegetables?"

Shen Chuwei nodded her head, what else would she eat if not for her garden?
