Giving It A Try

"Do what?" Drake asked, holding his breath and hoping it was what he was thinking.

"Let's give the relationship thing a try," Joan said and raised her hand to her chest, where her heartbeat had increased. 

"Really?" Drake asked, unable to hide his excitement and joy.

"Really," Joan said with a girlie giggle. 

"Can I come over right now? Like I need you to say it to my face," Drake said as he stood up and looked around for any of his car keys. 

"We could FaceTime. You don't need to drive all the way here," Joan pointed out. 

"I want to drive all the way there. I can't hug you or touch your face or kiss you over the phone," Drake said as he finally picked up his car key and rushed out of his bedroom. His housekeeper, who was in the living room, gave him a weird look as he hurried past her but said nothing.

Joan giggled happily at his excitement, "If you say so. I will hang up now and..."
