8 Chapter Six Fifth Floor

"Wakey Wakey"

"Morning Kara"

"Morning, What's the plan for today"

"Just checking on the dungeon as it's going to take 2 full days worth of mana to get the next floor"

"Yep, but that just means you can start to think of more ideas for the next floor.

"That's true"

"Of course"

After checking up on the dungeon he went back to sleep.

After going through the normal morning ritual he bought the 5th floor.

This was all he could do for today so he slept for one more day before getting to work.

After waking up he thought about what he wanted to do with the 5th floor.

He figured out how he wanted to do this floor.

First, he made his staircase down from the boss room of the last floor, then he made a large hallway with a domed roof and put a large dip in the floor leaving just enough room on either side for one person to walk and at the end put an intersection with identical tunnels going in all four directions for various distances.

He did this for all the tunnels and after a while finally stopped.

At the end of every tunnel, he put a set of large metal boss doors each with a skull engraved into the door.

After this, he filled all the dips in the tunnel and filled it halfway with water. After doing this he almost ran out of mana so he slept till the next day and continued his work.

Next, he filled the dips the rest of the way with blight poison.

Then he took one of the hydrae(Which is the correct plural for hydra) from the last floor and started to mold it to this new floor. First, he started by removing its arms and legs, then he elongated its body giving it muscles similar to a sea snake but on a much larger scale. Next, he made it completely dependent on dungeon mana instead of air and made it completely immune to the blight poison before releasing it into the waterways of the floor.

After this, he started to make an aquatic ecosystem. He started by making bacteria that convert mana into energy to be the bottom of the pyramid. He then made it completely immune to the blight poison. After this, he took the lava immune sea critters from the floor above and made them immune to this blight poison, a feat easier than making them immune to lava. He added these sea critters to his poisonous ecosystem and let them set in.

This process used up all the days mana so he slept till the next day.

After he woke up he added more of the serpentine hydrae to the waterways.

Then he added many blightjaws to wander the floor.

He then made many variants of poisonous insects to buzz around the floor.

He then started to work on his various fake boss rooms. Behind each fake boss door, he added different rooms that look as if they are legitimate boss rooms. In each of these rooms, he put a variety of traps. Some had dart traps or boulder traps, and even three different kinds of pitfalls, one for lava, spikes, and poison.

Then he found the fake boss room farthest from the entrance to the floor and got rid of the fake boss door and instead just had the tunnel expand out into a tunnel three times as wide and made the walkway three times as wide as well.

Before he could get started on the boss Kara floated over.

"Hey John"

"Yeah"

"Before you start making your boss there's something you need to know"

"Which is?"

"This next boss is a tier boss, meaning it's the last boss before you go up a tier, this means you're going to be able to power up this boss much more than a regular floor Boss."

"Wow"

"Yes just thought you should know before you start that you can push this one farther than your other bosses"

"Thanks for telling me"

"No problem"

After finding this out he got to work on his boss.

He started with the template for his serpentine variant demi-hydra.

He then elongated it farther and made it have 5 heads instead of 2 of the regular or the 3 of the last floor boss.

He then increased the potency of the poison two-fold. After this, he got an idea and used the template from a lizard on the first floor that can spit blood from its mouth and gave the boss the ability to spit poison out of its mouth.

After this, he increased its size to the max that felt possible and after naming it he summoned it into the boss area.

(Azathoth Horror Of The Depths)

Job- Tier Boss

Tier- 3

Level- 1

After having gotten his boss completed he started on the finishing touches for his first five floors

He started by moving the first-floor ash wolves to the other floor depending on their strength.

He did this for most of the other monsters and summoned new ones in their places that fit the floor's difficulty. This gave the dungeon much better scaling

This along with a couple more traps around, adding some more animal life to the first floor, and making the first floor much more wooded gave the dungeon a better feel.

He then began to add some decoration. He started with carvings of various things from monsters to things from earth onto the walls of the Labyrinth and waterways. He then gave out more weapons to the lizard/alligator people.

Just as he was about to call it finished a pulse of mana shot through the dungeon. This signified an evolution but the pulse was greater than the pulse released for the previous evolutions.

When he made it to where the pulse originated he was on the first floor looking at Psyche, she wasn't any bigger but her scales were pitch black and she now had four arms and four legs. She was no longer hunched over but was also no longer bipedal when she went to grab anything she would just push her self on to her back four legs and use the front four to do her rituals. Her neck became slightly longer and grew extra vertebrae to facilitate this.

(Psyche Of The Many)

Species- Blightshade

Job- Ritualist

After consuming so many sprites Psyche has lost herself to the many voices and became a shade, even like this she continues her dark rituals.

"Hello" boomed a deep voice

"Creator" came a high pitched voice

After the greeting, she walked away.

With that taken care of, he went to sleep
