1 Ravenseye Village

In the mountains surrounding the Ravenseye village, a young boy was currently next to a waterfall. Although not standing directly underneath, it could be seen that the water was still powerful enough to cause him to struggle. The boy was in the horse stance and had been there for one hour already. He had a pale complexion accompanied by long and black hair, reminiscent to the feathers of a raven. He had crystal blue eyes that currently showed the great amount of stress he was under. A few moments later the boy cried out as he was swept away and landed on the shore. He laid there for a few minutes until a tall man walked over to where he laid. This man was the current chief of the village and his name was Blue Raven. He was at least two and a half meters tall and had a body that looked incredibly strong. Similar to the boy who was lying on the ground, he had long raven colored hair and blue eyes. "Get up, Dusk. You've already rested long enough." Said the chief. Dusk Raven, the boy on the ground, pouted a bit as he spoke. "Chief I've only been down for a few seconds now!" After watching Dusk pout, the village chief smiled before he walked over to where Dusk was on the ground. "I don't care." He spoke. The chief then grabbed Dusk by the shoulder before throwing him back under the waterfall. "Chiefffffff!" Dusk yelled before the water drowned his voice out. After Dusk struggled for a few seconds he was finally able to get back in the horse stance in the same place he was before. "You'll need to continue to practice until dark. The more exhausted you are, the easier it will be tomorrow when you attempt to sense the magick elements." Spoke the chief. Although he didn't speak loudly and the sound of the waterfall nearly drowned out most sounds, Dusk could still hear him clearly as if the chief spoke directly into his ear.

Dusk continued to sit in the horse stance for around another hour before he once again collapsed under the pressure. Remembering what the chief said, he got back up and continued once more. This repeated another 12 times before it was finally dark. The last time that Dusk collapsed, he laid there for about ten minutes before he tiredly got up and started dragging his body back towards the village. Upon reaching the gate of the village, a man dressed like a warrior who was guarding the gate spoke to Dusk. "Hey kid, you made it just in time. Any longer and you would have been locked out tonight. Haha." Dusk chuckled and gave a light smile as he passed the gate. While he was walking, he could hear the guard closing the gate behind him.

Houses were spread out loosely around a path that went through the village. The villagers could be seen out and about preparing for the ceremony tomorrow. Once every year or whenever there is at least on child turning to age 14, a ceremony is held to see if they can sense the magick elements. The lucky few will immediately become scholars which is the first step to becoming a mage. Those that aren't as lucky will simply try their best to become warriors. The luckiest few will even dual train both magick and warrior skills, but they usually don't make it very far down either path due to splitting their time to thin.

As Dusk was walking back to his home in the village, occasionally some villager would call out a greeting. Dusk would simply smile and give a nod in their direction since he was too tired to actually reply. After following the the path in the village, he finally arrived at the center. In front of Dusk was the only house in the village that was two stories. This was the village chiefs home. Dusk wasn't born in the village, he was actually brought here on day by a large raven. The villagers took that as a sign from the divine and took him under their wings. The chief himself even adopted Dusk as his own son and game him his name. Coincidentally, Dusk already had similar features as those that were born in the village. The classic raven colored hair.

As Dusk walked up to the door, he suddenly smelled food wafting out of the house. His stomach immediately reacted with a loud grumbling sound. Lead by his nose, Dusk walked into the house and saw the chief stirring something in a large black pot that was hanging over a fire. The chief, having noticed Dusk walking in, spoke. "Don't get any ideas, kid. We can't have that body recovering too much while you sleep." After hearing the chief, Dusk looked away and walked limply to the stairs while trying not to cry. 'I'm so hungry...' He thought. When he finally reached his bed, Dusk collapsed into a dreamless sleep.

A moment later, the chief appeared next to Dusk's bed. "I'm sorry about this, kid.... It's for your own good though." He softly spoke. The chief then whispered a few inaudible words. After he finished speaking, a dark red glow started to cover Dusk all over. As the light spread, the look on Dusk's face slowly started to contort in pain. Although Dusk didn't wake up, he was clearly in a lot of pain. As the glow covered his whole body, Dusk started to curl up. The chief stood there watching the red glow with a pained look on his face. This continued all the way until dawn. The chief finally gave a small sigh of relief before he quickly disappeared, leaving Dusk lying there. After the glow disappeared, the look on Dusk's face finally eased up. An hour later Dusk woke up.
