50 Lan Xioli's Decision

That afternoon an announcement from the CEO office shocked all employees. The Vice President had gone AWOL together with Ariana Chan and they were charged with embezzlement and criminal conspiracy. On top of that, Wu Meiwan has been dismissed. The reason for her dismissal, however, was only shared with the Director of Human Resource and to Wu Xu Ying, her father.

The Director was also cautioned with the use of his personal office and was told that Ariana had used him to send vital information about the company and of Lu Fang, information which was used to plan his attacks.

Lu Wei also ensured that the status of Liu Min and Ariana Chan were publicized and had scheduled a press conference so that his warning will be made known to Governor Rou Yanlin.

"I am standing here before you to share the good news. We are finally closing in on the culprit behind my son's attack. My purpose in requesting for this conference is to give the man a warning!"

Lu Wei then focused his eyes to the camera as if talking to Rou Yanlin himself.

"I know who you are and we are keeping an eye on you. If you think you can continue to threaten my son without paying the price, you are mistaken. In fact, tomorrow, we are coming to get you. We are coming to your respectable office in Tianjin!"

The crowd was in uproar hearing the words of Lu Wei. They tried to probe further but he immediately left without saying another word.

General Lie had proposed to the Lu Wei that they publicly give their warning. By doing so, it would create paranoia. Having the fear of already being known can make a man take extreme measures and make mistakes. Aside from that, he would consider taming his attacks fearing of being under surveillance.

Governor Rou Yanlin was watching the news from his office. His face was calm but showed a hint of sarcasm hearing Lu Wei. He was laughing inwardly when the last words came out -

"…We are coming to your respectable office in Tianjin!"

"Sir, I'm afraid we could not find Liu Min. We suspect he is in Gabriel's Den… Sir, they could just be bluffing."

"Even so. We cannot risk being exposed. Tell The Shadows to hold off the job for now. We need to make them feel comfortable first before attacking again."

When Rou Yanlin saw the hesitation from his assistant, he asked. "What's wrong?"

"Sir, they had asked for an additional payment. They said that the Lus have special help and required specially trained assassins."

"Did you ask the bureau like I told you to?"

"Yes, sir but they did not assign a special agent to the Lu family. However, we have checked the photos of Lu Fang, he is always together with a girl. We heard she is his girlfriend, but she could be more than just a fragile-looking girl. In fact, our information says she was present on all the all attacks."

"Hmmm….Tell The Shadows to separate them on the next attack… and… prepare the island home for me. In case they would really have evidence against me, we can still go into hiding… Also, make sure to transfer funds to the other account. The one that is untraceable."

"Have you contacted them?"

"Yes, sir. They are preparing to return to China in a few days. When they arrive, the plan has already been set to get rid of Lu Fang's assistant."

"Good. Good. Let's find out more about the woman with Lu Fang. Dig any possible information on her that will result for her to part from the Lu family."

'Lu Jie and Lu Jie… If you think I can be shaken, you are wrong. I don't have anything left but my dying wealth. I will use every cent I have left to destroy you and your family if I have to.'

Rou Yanlin has been burning with jealousy and anger inside of him. He would stop at nothing to get back at Lu Jie for taking the heart of the woman he loved.

Lan Xioli was his best friend and the love of his life. Since they were young, he had sworn to marry her. However, his admiration turned into an obsession. He would secretly stalk her and collect some of her belongings. All of her admirers and suitors were very unlucky as they would end up getting expelled from school, drugged or impaired.

Fortunately, Lan Xioli decided on a different university during college and her monitoring was made to a minimum. It was there that she met Lu Jie and with his striking good looks and intellect; it was inevitable for her to fall in love with him.

When Rou Yanlin found out about his beloved's newfound relationship, he tried to destroy him but his schemes were later discovered by his best friend making him take precautions on how to get rid of his rival for fear of losing her.

The subtle schemes then changed into more hostile ones after the marriage of Lan Xioli and Lu Jie. It cracked Rou Yanlin to the core that he made desperate measures even to the point of kidnapping his beloved.

"Yanlin! Stop! What are you doing? I am your best friend!"

Lan Xioli was already tied in bed stripped naked as the man slowly took off his clothes preparing to devour her. His eyes were filled with guilt but his lust overshadowed his sanity. He had loved her for so long that he could not be patient anymore.

"You made me do this Xioli! I gave you enough chances to be with me. I am better than Lu Jie! My wealth can provide you with comfort in life but you… You choose to take the difficult path being with him! Tonight until the end, you will be mine."

"No! Yanlin! Please! Stay away from me! I already have a son. Please…"

Lan Xioli was violated repeatedly until her entire body became sore. She was kept a prisoner in a mansion far from the city without a way to reach out for help. In order to be treated fairly, she had to give in to his demands until she was able to walk freely within the estate. She eventually got pregnant but out of disgust she managed to convince her doctor to give her an abortion and with that came out her uterus. She thought, Yanlin can r*** her repeatedly but she would never give him the happiness of having a child… at least not from her.

At that point, Lan Xioli felt dirty and soiled that she could not find herself to go back to her love and her child. At least by being with Rou Yanlin, she could keep him from hurting her family ever again. Thus, her decision to stay with the side of her violator.
