Chapter 22 Illness (1)

Having received fluids at the clinic until the afternoon, Shen Li was nearly depleted. Barely managing to eat a bowl of porridge at the intersection, she also packed two more, since cooking was out of the question when she was this sick. She'd just eat what was there and try to bring the fever down for now.

This state was a "gift" from Fang Hongxia; she never had anyone to take care of her when ill, not even money to see a doctor. She considered herself lucky to have never fallen seriously ill, and had safely grown up to this age. Minor sicknesses like a fever, she could handle on her own without any issues.

After swallowing the pills, she started to drift off to sleep. Despite the fluid infusion, the fever hadn't subsided, and Shen Li felt extremely uncomfortable. She tried to cover herself with the quilt more thickly, enduring the discomfort, hoping to sweat it out.
