8 Visiting The Capital

Winona's POV

"Avoid going outside, Winona, for now, that the Dragon Prince is on his pursuit of finding you.  It's better for us always to be careful, we survive for seven years hiding, and it is a shame if he will see you now." Lizardo said after we eat our lunch, and I almost spit the water that I am drinking.

"I will go to Thesirea and gather some more information; and it is my daughter's birthday today, and I will not be home early." He said and looked at me in the eyes.

"So, how old is she now?" I asked.

"Just like you, nineteen." He replied with a happy smile on his face.

"I wish someday I can visit them, and I want to meet your family; they became outcasts because of me," I said, and I can't stop myself from feeling guilty.

"Don't say that Winona, you are the only heir of the Crown of Dracousia and our future queen. My wife's family was also a die-hard follower of your grandfather, King Sullivan, and for us, it is an honor to serve you because we believe the day would come the true ruler of Dracousia Kingdom will rise." Lizardo said.

"Lizardo, I don't have a plan of running a kingdom, all I want is to save my mom, and after that, we will go to the human world and hide. At least there we could live a simple life, away from King Alexandrix cruelty." I replied.

"Winona, my dear, you can never run away from your destiny. The dragon world needs you. The cruelness of King Alexandrix must end. I know The Crown Prince of Dracousia is different from his father, but still, he will be under the influence of King Alexandrix, and I think there will be no changes in the kingdom. But we can't judge the Prince just yet. He may be a good ruler, but still, he isn't the rightful heir of the throne. It would always be you." He declared.

"Even though you are bringing your mother's family name, but the blood of the golden dragon is in your veins. You are a Brakaros, the granddaughter of the mighty ancient golden dragon, and you should always remember that." He said, and I nodded.

"And one more thing, you have to remember your mother is also a renowned witch because of her extraordinary abilities, it is just a shame that King Julius didn't justify her case to King Alexandrix, and you should remember that the Mage King abandoned your mother when it is your time to rule, I am not telling you to be vindictive, but I am just reminding you what is happening between the two realms." He said, and I looked at him in the eyes.

"Don't worry, Lizardo; I will remember everything that you told me and all the lessons I have learned from you. Thank you for everything; please give these to your daughter." As I give him three of my self-made Lace Hair Bows with different colors, I always asked him to buy me materials to make my personalized hair bows, ribbons, and hair clips.

"Wow! Liliana will be delighted with your gift." He said.

"I am sorry, I don't have anything I can give her on her birthday," I said.

"Winona, she will be honored that you will give her these ribbons." He said, and he got up from the chair.

"I need to get going now, Winona." He said, and I bid farewell to him after putting some glamour on his face so he will look old and weak.

By the time Lizardo left the cave, I get ready for my date. I prepare my basket, my hooded cloak, and of course, my ankle-length dress. I didn't tie my long natural brown hair, but instead, I let it cascades on my shoulders. I used my witch magic to conceal my positive energy, which the powerful dragons or witches can detect. It was the number one rule of Lizardo, and I should use my magic to hide my strong personality so no one will give attention to me if ever the mages and Dragons will pass by and I am in the forest.

I couldn't control my nervousness when I came out of the cave, not only because I am meeting him without Lizardo's knowledge, but also about the Crown Prince of Dracousia. But my excitement to go and visit the Thesirea capital overshadows my worries.

Kai arrived in the forest earlier than me because he was already standing when I arrived at our meeting place, but he denied that he came ahead. Maybe he was embarrassed that I could tell he was so excited about today. I can't stop myself from feeling so happy that he came, and I am glad his grandma's potion works, or else he couldn't return to Dasos.

He was only wearing ordinary shirts and trousers, but he also tried to conceal himself using a cloak with a hood. I can feel my face blushed when he handed me the wildflowers, and even though I knew he picked them at the Dasos wilderness, I still feel happy because this is the first time someone gave me flowers. Seeing him for the second time made me realized Kai is handsome, and his long wavy blonde hair makes him look more attractive.

He remained standing for a long time without saying anything, and he was studying me, and I suddenly felt worried if something was wrong. I asked him what is bothering him, and his answers made me blushed. He said he was mesmerized by my beauty, and I want to tell him I am also feeling the same way towards him. And his compliments made my face turned redder. When he said we should get going, I get my hooded cloak from my basket and put it on top of my beautiful dress. The dress that I wore today was Lizardo's gift to me on my eighteenth birthday.

"Did you bring some potion?" I asked him.

"Of course, I bring a lot since I want to make sure we can get inside Magusari, the Thesirea Capital, without a problem." He answered.

"Thank you, so what should we do?" I asked.

"All you need to do is close your eyes because that is part of the potion." He said, and I can't stop myself from laughing.

"Really? And why would I do that? It is not a spell?" I asked while I am still laughing.

"To be honest, I don't want to feel embarrassed if this will not work, Ana. I am so excited to bring you to Magusari, so please follow my instructions, okay?" He said.

"Okay," I replied as I close my eyes, and I felt Tac jumped inside my basket. Then I suddenly felt Kai holds my hand as I can smell a mixture of herbs in the air, and I want to peek and see what he is doing. Still, I want to trust him, and I don't want Kai to feel embarrassed, then suddenly I felt the ground shook, and I felt Kai tightened his hold on my hand, and the next thing I know, I can feel we are already in the Magusari because I can smell freshly baked bread.

"Can I open my eyes now?" I asked excitedly.

"Yes, you may now open your eyes, Ana." He replied, and I can't stop my tears of happiness from falling on my cheeks when I realized after seven years I saw the place where I grow up, but I can see many changes within the entire area. I can see the Thesirea palace in the distance in its glorious state. I want to go to King Julius and asked him why he abandoned my father when she was her favorite witch in the entire kingdom. But I know the King of Thesirea was also looking for me when he learned I was the Dragon Witch, and I don't know what he wants from me. I am sure he loves power, and maybe he also knew about the prophecy; he also wants to be an immortal.

I suddenly feel hungry, and when Kai notice I was looking at the bakery with wide eyes, he brings me to the bakery, and he bought me some bread.

"Thank you, Kai; how come you have Thesirean silver coins?" I asked him with a smile on my face.

"I have my ways, Ana; besides, I told you I came here before, and I didn't mention I stayed here long enough to find some jobs." He answered me, and I couldn't believe he stayed here long enough to have some of the Thesirean coins.

"Did you earn some gold coins?" I asked, and he nodded.

"Wow! I am happy for you, Kai; at least you experienced living here once and learning some of the mage cultures and traditions." I said to him, and he smiled at me as he offers me the hot bread, and we were both eating our bread as we continue to roam around the capital. We visited different shops, and I can't stop admiring the dresses, shoes, and jewelries I found in the shops.

"Ana, tell me if you have something that you like to have, and I will buy it for you." Kai declared.

"That is so tempting, Kai, but I don't want my parents to know I visited this place, so for now, I will satisfy myself by watching the beautiful things I can find. We came here to window shop only. You can only buy me food, but no material things since it would be so obvious, and if I want to have something I don't want to hide it, I want to display it on my bedside so I can see it from time to time." I said, and he smiled at me, and I can't stop having butterflies on my stomach.

My foot hurts from walking. However, I don't want to waste this chance that I have right now to explore and see the beautiful scenery of Thesirea Kingdom because I don't know when will be my next visit, and I don't want to disobey Lizardo. Then my entire body turned so cold when I saw Lizardo and his wife is inside the dress shop, and because of my fear that he will see me. I suddenly dragged Kai with me, and I run as fast as I can; and I can tell he was following beside me, and I know he was curious why I suddenly sprinted.

"Can you at least tell me who we are running from?" He asked after we rounded a corner and hid in the massive jars, and I felt nervous about what will happen if Lizardo found out I visited the capital. I am glad he didn't notice us running away from them because they were busy looking for a dress. Maybe they were buying a gift for Liliana.

"Judging by your appearance, I can tell you saw one of your family members," Kai said, and I nodded, and I can see the worries on his face. As much as I want to stay for a while on Magusari, my apprehension of being discovered by Lizardo is making me feel so weak on my knees.
