3 Entrance Part 2

Tatsuya and I were training for a few days together in the school's training field. Tatsuya was very fast and agile hitting the targets. He used his dark aura to create a bow and arrow then charged up for a powerful shot at the target.

"Piercing Void.." Tatsuya said and released the arrow and it blitzed to the target, creating a massive impact.

I guarded myself and grunted. The shockwave the attack let off was powerful. I looked at Tatsuya after the wave ended.

"Well well...Tatsuya, you are as strong as ever. Mmm? Who's this mongrel with you..? She doesn't even have the faintest scent of aural." A male walked up with his partner.

"Now it's the time Sinju..We are training for the graded tournament.." Tatsuya said.

"Looks like you'll be in the Failing Class. Me and my partner Charlotte are the best in the school. I'll be happy to show you right now what I mean." Sinju said.

Tatsuya glared then looked at me, who was completely oblivious to the situation that was unfolding. Tatsuya looked at Sinju.

"We decline.." He turned his back and grabbed my hand and walked off. He was about to step in an invisible trap.

"Tatsuya!" I said and pushed him out the way and dodged the explosion.

"Sinju..she sensed the trap." Charlotte said.

"Yeah..that's unusual.." Sinju said.

Tatsuya got up and dusted himself off then helped me up and looked at Sinju, visibly pissed off. He used his aura to create a sword.

"Fine..you want to fight..then let's fight." He dashed to Sinju. Sinju summoned his weapon and clashed with Tatsuya.

"Charlotte you handle the little ant!" Sinju smirked.

Charlotte summoned her spear and dashed to me. She went for the attack. I couldn't move, I was scared. As the blade of her lance got closer a sword appeared in front of Charlotte, blocking the attack. Charlotte was surprised.

"What the..?" Charlotte looked at the man behind me.

"Fighting is prohibited in this area. Since you're first years I'll let you all off with a warning." One of the teachers said.

I fell to my knees and sighed in relief. I placed my hand on the ground and looked down. I couldn't even defend myself. I felt so useless..I just froze up.

"Come Charlotte, we shall wait for the tournament to crush those weaklings." Sinju walked off. Charlotte followed him.

"Mora, are you alright?" Tatsuya ran to me.

The teacher looked at me and walked away. In his mind he thought there was no way I'd ever survive in this school.

"I'm so useless.." I giggled quietly. "I only just get in the way.."

"No it's alright. It was your first fight after all. It's only natural for you to freeze up and get nervous." He helped me up and looked at me. "Class is about to begin, let's go." He walked ahead.

I reluctantly followed and looked down the entire time. I feel so out of place here.. Maybe I should just pack up and go back home. Why would the academy even accept me in the first place.

The homeroom teacher wasn't in the class yet, so the students were all chatting with each other as usual. I looked out the window and felt a tap on shoulder. I looked at the person.

"Hey Mora. You seem out of it." Emori smiled.

"Hey Emori..and yeah. Someone picked a fight with me and my partner and all I could do was freeze up, nearly getting myself killed." I said.

"Don't worry, it's only the 5th day of school. You shouldn't worry about being the strongest. The tournament isn't for another week. There is still time." Emori pat my head.

The homeroom teacher walked in and Emori went to her seat.

"Good morning class. My name is Ms. Ame and I am your homeroom teacher." She smiled sweetly.

She didn't seem like a bad person. I looked at her and felt safe and comfortable.

"Every one of you are first years so I'll go over the basics. This academy is used to awaken or evolve your powers and abilities. Everyone who graduated from this academy is an Elite. They have mastered their abilities and able to use their power in ways they weren't able to when they first came. Our academy is the most prestigious academy in the country and we have the most renown. So let's keep that up and graduate an Elite!" She said.

The class cheered and an uproar started. I was the only quiet one. I may have been tactical on the battlefield but it won't matter if I die in battle.

The bell rang for lunch after a while and I took my lunch and went to the roof. I looked up and saw Tatsuya. He looked up and saw me.

"You eat up here too?" I asked.

"I don't like crowds. They don't sit well with me." He answered. I walked to sit next to him. "Why are you here?"

"To enjoy the fresh air.." I set my lunch down and hugged my knees.

"Still bummed out from this morning?" He asked. I nodded. "Look I said it was okay. It-"

"That's not it..I knew the attack was coming..I was conscious yet I didn't move..I had all the time in the world to step out the way and I didn't..I was being stupid.." I sighed and closed my eyes.

"Tell me...why did you want to come here? You have no abilities from what everyone knows." Tatsuya closed his box.

"My father graduated from here..I adored him..and I wanted to follow his footsteps...I took after my mother in genes thought. She had a good ability even though it was variant of her dad's ability. Her ability is Aura Manipulation but she can only boost her own power and sense the invisible." I said.

Tatsuya flashbacked when I pushed him out the way then came to a realization. He looked at me.

"I know why you failed the ability portion..your abilities only work in battle.." Tatsuya said.

"Yeah..because I wasn't fighting my abilities didn't activate..and I still have so much to learn. My grandfather's aura manipulation was one of the best. He could alter other people's aura..take their aura and fuse them with his own...heighten his abilities...heal himself..he was the strongest in his time..now there is counters for the ability.." I said.

"Mmm..how about a mock battle with me after school. I want to help you awaken your abilities." Tatsuya suggested.

"I guess that'll work..but the teacher said-"

"I'll get permission. Don't worry. You just focus on your studies for the time being." Tatsuya smiled.

I looked at him and blushed a bit then smiled back and nodded.
