3 A Strange Surprise

Gossips went all around the city about that strange guy from earlier, his name was on every mouth and everyone was happily talking about him except one:

"Who's that stupid guy?" shouted Kija in annoyance

[if he had given me more time I would've caught them. It's all his fault! I hate him! Moreover, he's so suspicious. How could they like that 'all dressed in black' person? He doesn't even show his face. What a disturbance!]

Kija bit his lower lip trying to forget about the bastard everyone's talking about. Bitterness filled his mouth as he started punching harder on the pillow between his hands. And, as if that was not enough, a voice came shouting from downstairs "Kija, what's wrong. Stop shouting." It was a woman. Her voice was pretty soft and calm.

"Yes, mom" Kija just answered without meaning what he said, then he stopped for a moment trying to calm down but the rage inside won't stop burning and he burst out " I can't calm down!"

His annoyance reached its limit. He was so irritated by what happened that day.

"Kija could you come here?"

"Coming" replied Kija as he went downstairs. "what is it? Is it lunchtime already?"

"No, not yet" Kija's mother was a pretty woman with black hair reaching her shoulders and blue eyes the color of deep ocean. She was calm and kind with a cheerful personality. Her soft pale skin suits her perfectly.

"So, what is it?" Kija had calmed down a little which was good because even though his mother seemed soft when she's angry she is really scary.

"Your father is coming today" she said as she washed the dishes

"okay…HUH. Wha, what did you say?" it was just like what she expected as her grin became visible.

"why didn't you tell me before?" Kija was panicking not because he didn't want his father to come, but because it was a special event for him since his father is always away working in America, and it's rare for him to come home. And his mom always enjoyed seeing the affection the father and son had. Even though Kija always looks mature and keeps his feeling (just from the outside), when his father comes he acts like a little child waiting for a new toy, and that's so fun to watch for his mother.

Ever since he was a kid, Kija has always admired his father, he was strong, handsome, successful, and the most loving father in the world. Kija had always waited for his father to return from his work trips so he could listen to his father's stories that he always ever since he was a kid.

"well, he suddenly called and said he's coming. And he said he has a surprise"

"a surprise?" Kija tilted his head questioning

"We'll know when Arthur come, so go and clean your room"

"I'll bring some drinks too"

"okay"

After a little time...

"Mom isn't father late?"

"it's still 3 o'clock"

"did father come?"

"you asked before half an hour and I said no"

"and now?"

"it's been 10 min"

"then now?"

"YOU ASKED BEFORE 1 MIN. YOU'RE NOT A KID. I Told You He Is Coming Late" Kija flinched.

"s-sorry." he didn't mean to anger her, it's just that time felt really slow.

Ding-Dong Ding-Dong

"he came" shouted Kija as soon as he heard the door and ran to open it. A man wearing a black suit was standing in front of the door with a big smile on his face "father!"

"you became so big my little boy" said Sir Arthur. He had deep black hair which was completely different from his son, Kija had always wondered where did he get his blond hair, while his burning red eyes were the exact color of his father's eyes. which always gave both of them an intimidating look.

Kija smiled happily as his father pat his head "I was waiting patiently for your arrival"

"yeah, I brought an extremely surprising surprise" a big smile was on sir Arthur's face and Kija's eyes sparkled after hearing this "I was wondering what that surprise is."

"well, it's….

"honey" miss Hana – Kija's mom – interrupted "why are you still standing there?" she had came to greet her husband

"sorry, I was talking to my little Kija"

"I am not little anymore. I am 14 years old now" Kija corrected his father but his father seemed to insist on what he said "you are still my little kid"

"I am not, jeez" Kija said with a pout.

"well about the surprise, we'll keep it to later. I think it needs more time to be here"

"but …"

"don't be hasty Kija"

" 'ka~y"

...

"um, dad isn't the surprise ready yet? It's been millions of years since you came and the surprise isn't here yet." Kija sat on the sofa restless counting every second.

"it's been just one-hour" sir Arthur was already aware of his son's impatiens so he said, "I think it's time"

"really" Kija's eyes sparkled. He does this all the time when he's excited. It looked really cute on him. With his bloody eyes, he always looked scary with a stiff aura around him. Ever since he was a kid he had this deadly and strong aura around him as if he is a predator preparing to attack his prey. He never really tried putting it on, it was always surrounding him making him look like he was born to be a scary fighter and as if he was trained for it since he was born, but for some reason, Kija can't remember his childhood clearly. Girls had always admired him but not many of them had the courage to approach him because of his deadly aura, but when his eyes sparkle like this they look like shining red diamonds. He looks like a child getting a candy.

Miss Hana giggled at that and stood up as Sir Arthur said "follow me"

"we're behind you" said Kija with an excited smile on his face as he followed his father.

Sir Arthur, miss Hana, and Kija marched out of the house and stood in the huge garden. Sir Arthur was a successful businessman so he was pretty rich. If he wanted it they could have a big house with lots of servants but he always says that there's nothing better than having a normal life so their house was an average house but with a big garden full of roses. It was a gift he gave to miss Hana when they got married since she loves roses

"so, where is that surprise?" Kija's restlessness has increased as he looked left and right. But his father just stood there then he placed his hands on his lips and whistled really loudly which hurt Kija's ears.

Suddenly, something fell from the sky at lightning speed before their eyes and then landed steadily on the ground. The air around them moved a little swaying the black guy's cloak with it. He stood on the big rock that decorated the entrance to the house.

"y-you!" said Kija surprised as this guy was the same one he met in the city, the bastard guy.

"he fell from the sky" said miss Hana with surprised eyes. Sir Arthur laughed at that.

"what is he doing here?" Kija's voice remained calm as that was what his father taught him but there was a hint of fire in his eyes. Just remembering that bastard made him burn in anger and glint of jealousy

(that bastard)

"he?" sir Arthur tilted his head then he started laughing hard. When he finally stooped laughing he wiped the tears that formed from laughing and the next thing he said left everyone speechless "she's a GIRL"

Ok, that surprised Kija.

After the long silence, Kija finally gave a "huh?!" still unable to get it.

That person - that Kija can't recognize his/ her gender anymore - approached forward and took off the coat's hat slowly. A golden hair shone under the hat. Diamond blue eyes looked at them firmly. a beautiful girl stood in front of Kija's family. She took off her black dress and looked at Kija and his mother as their mouths were wide open and the amusement was written on their eyes.

The girl's golden hair was one foot before reaching her knees, and her skin was smooth and shiny. a heart-shaped diamond swung from her forehead.

"This whole beauty was hidden under that gloomy black drees." Said miss Hana

the girl kept silent, but there was a hint of redness on her checks from miss Hana's complement

"isn't this a surprising surprise?" said Mr. Arthur with a grin as he watched his family's reaction.

"I don't understand. A girl the size of a finger defeated a bandit thieves" that was all Kija could think about. Not only she's a girl but she was 'tiny'.

"that's mean Kija" his mother scolded him

"what do you mean defeated bandit thieves?" came Sir Arthur's voice cutting their conversation with his question, then he faced the girl With a frown "don't tell me you attracted attention while I was away"

The girl averted her eyes trying not to answer. A faint red was on her cheeks as she knew her mistake.

"Sakura!" sir Arthur raised his voice making her flinch.

"s-sorry" regret was shown on her face as she wished her master would turn a blind eye on it, and yes, that was what she called him "I am sorry. Master."

Kija thought there would be no more things that will surprise him more after what he saw but he underestimated this girl as she spots more nonsense.

"master?" he couldn't hide his annoyance hearing his lovely father being called strangely.

( What's with this master thing? Was she a dog picked by my father?)

His father let out a sigh as he was able to read his son's confusion, but before he was able to say anything the pretty girl spoke.

" This is my way of calling people I respect and acknowledge" she explained. She did look at Sir Arthur in respect, but the acknowledging was a part Kija didn't understand.

( Acknowledge father?) he tilted his head

So many question marks were on the little faces so sir Arthur stepped to the front turning all the eyes towards him as he cleared his throat.
