3 A Quick Return

"Did you get anything else on your hunt?" Oswyn asked Barion.

"Just a rabbit, you?"

"Actually 2 rabbits."

"Lucky."

"Don't worry, you'll get more later."

A long walk back, the two returned. Without the need of the map, as if they knew where they were going, going the same route over and over.

The two walked to a tanner, one that was already preoccupied in skinning a boar.

"Jorius, how are ya today?" Oswyn greeted the man.

"Oh, you two. Doing well, a hunter got a boar. Gonna send this one to the butcher right after."

Oswyn dropped the deer and a rabbit next to the man, sitting on a stump facing a halfway skinned boar hanging up on some sticks.

Following this, Barion dropped his kill, along with the 2 rabbits he killed.

"Ah, deer. Alright, i'll get this to the butcher, he'll send some of the meat to your homes."

After the brief conversation, the two departed once again, leaving their kill with the tanner walking back to the forest, continuing their hunt.

"What do you reckon now?" Barion asked.

"Unsure, maybe venture deeper into the forest, make sure you know the route though. Good luck."

The two ran different directions, now running farther than the previous hunt.

The forest stayed as lively as ever, the sun now raised higher. The area became more visible from the sunlight at the east.

Barion ran longer through the forest.

Eventually he stopped, starting to creep around again, keeping an ear out for any animal noises. Any possible prey.

Bushes among other foliage were more large and frequent around the area as this is the deeper section of the forest, far from human contact.

Barion hacked through low lying vines with his dagger awaiting the sound of an animal or predator, still not hearing a single animal sound aside from birds.

While looking, Barion noticed another rabbit.

"Another one then." Barion readied his bow, releasing his fingers, the arrow hit the rabbit. It's soul ascending upwards after.

A growl followed after his shot, from behind him.

Barion turned around, face to face with the snout of a wolf. The wolf pounced on top of him, attempting to reach his neck, Barion struggled with the beast, pulling out his dagger in the fight, with one stab to the neck, the wolf jumped back, slowly inching backwards, dissapearing into the bushes behind it.

"Gah, bloody wolf." Barion grunted in frustration.

Barion checked his arms and legs for any wounds, remaining calm and composed despite the encounter, as if he already went through it multiple times.

Barion placed the dead rabbit inside his sack, with another kill, he continued the hunt, now on higher guard for a predator.

"Farther from the village now, this foliage is getting more annoying." Barion thought to himself.

The sunlight now only piercing a small amount into the area around him. The forest was now mostly encapsulated in partial darkness.

"Where am i now?" Barion takes out the map and begins to check it.

"Heading deeper into the forest, i assume i'm in the dangeorous area. Explains the wolf attack, maybe there's something more here though-" A squeal of a boar suddenly started. The sound was nearby.

Barion, in an instant moved to the direction of the noise, aiming his bow up.
