Okami summoned his Pokemon App and checked if his gadget could determine what was happening before him.

Dynamax? Okami frowned when he realized that he was facing an enemy that could use powers not yet available to him. If his memory served him right, then this was a feature that was about to be introduced in the upcoming Pokemon Sword and Shield game. He did not know anything about it and all he could do was test his luck against it.

Okami absorbed Ditto while releasing Muk and used Transform skill. At once, he transformed into a smaller version of a Torterra, about one-eighth of his enemy's size. To counter his ground and grass moves, he also opted for Weezing and released Beedrill. Right now, his absorbed pokemon were Kadabra for maneuverability along with Mr. Mime for skill synergy, Arcanine instead of Butterfree for fire moves, Ditto, and Weezing for the Levitation ability.

He studied all the moves that his opponent could use and grumbled when everything was faded out except for Tackle, Razor Leaf, and Leech Seed. "This is useless against Torterra himself."

Dennis lifted his two forelimbs and crashed it against the ground, creating billows of dust in the air. The island shook like it was having a seizure, forming big footprints on where he struck.

Okami teleported just above Dennis and hovered in the air like a turtle god. He gathered his power on his mouth and breathed out fire streams from his mouth, burning some of the leaves on his back. When he noticed that it was not effective, he followed it up with an Intermediate Psybeam.

Dennis felt some stinging sensation on his back and looked up. Once he realized that it was due to Okami's attacks, he opened his mouth and a menacing seed came out of it.

"Shit, it's Leech Seed." Okami avoided the seed of doom by teleporting behind Dennis and released Ditto. This time, he chose to absorb Rapidash, the only fire pokemon left because Charizard was with Ace and his Altered Ninetales would deactivate the rest of his pokemon right away. He then used Intermediate Fire Blitz, the strongest fire move both his Pokemon had, charging right against Dennis. As soon as the impact happened, he felt some damage was reflected on him, creating few wounds on his skin. Even then, he followed it up with another Fire Blitz.

"Aargh! Annoying!" Dennis was very slow due to his current form and it was hard for him to follow his enemy's trail. Even then, he used Curse, increasing his physical attack and defense while decreasing his speed one notch. With the help of the sunlight, he used Synthesis and regained his lost health even if his wounds were insignificant. He followed it up by kicking with his two hind legs like that of a horse. "Die!"

Okami noticed the rushing wind and teleported above him once again. This time, he released Butterfree and absorbed Chansey, using Soft-boiled immediately to heal his wounds. He understood that his attacks were just annoying him and it did not truly hurt his opponent.

Since Torterra was a Grass/Ground typing, he opted to change his list of absorbed pokemon, replacing Chansey, Arcanine, and Rapidash with Shellder, Lapras, and Dewgong. He gathered some stamina power on his mouth and executed the strongest Ice Move that his three pokemon could learn - Ice Beam, a Special Attack move that could penetrate his increased physical defense. A white laser-like cold beam streamed out from his mouth, hitting the enemy with a Master move.

"Argh!" Dennis felt the cold sensation on his top and knew that his enemy used an attack that was four times effective against his typing. Still, he knew that it was far from enough to inflict damage against him and resorted to another Synthesis. He continued using Curse in succession until he could not increase his attack any longer.

Okami repeated the process until he realized that he was not hurting his enemy at all. He was about to think of another strategy when he noticed that the leaves on Dennis' back shone brightly. Suddenly, hundreds of leaves scattered in the air and began rotating around him like a hurricane.

"Shit! It's Leaf Storm!" Okami activated his Observation Haki at once and dodged the nearest rushing leaf to the right. He avoided several leaves coming towards him before teleporting several meters away from Dennis.

Indeed, Dennis used Leaf Storm to scare Okami away from him. He smirked when he saw his opponent's reaction and followed it up with Razor Leaf, a grass physical attack which synergized with his increased physical power. At once, several hardened leaves zoomed towards Okami.

Okami did not use teleport this time because he was afraid of appearing somewhere and got hit by a random leaf. What he did was dodged all of the leaves with his Observation Haki. He immediately floated forward, only to find a hammer-like weapon falling from above. Without a choice, he teleported several meters to the right, avoiding the surely fatal attack that would squash him like a bug.

CRASH!

Billows of dust scattered in the air and wind blast rushed on all sides because of the impact. Soon, the clouds dissipated and Okami could clearly see the after-effect of the collision. His eyes almost popped out when he saw a crater was formed on where the Wood Hammer had fallen.

"Dynamax attacks is really strong. I'm afraid this island will be destroyed if his enemy continues to attack like this."

Okami wanted to conserve his stamina because he still had to save his teammates from the other enemies. Once he realized that he could not continue with such ineffective attacks, he was left with no choice but to activate his Altered Ninetales form.

His body transformed into a bipedal version of a mini-Kyubi with his three tails wagging on his back. He knew the risk he was facing because he could not take advantage of his teleport skill anymore. All he could do right now was rely on his Observation Haki, quick reflexes and heightened senses to avoid these attacks. He needed to make every ounce of his strength into good use because this form consumed high stamina even with his passive attributes.

Dennis frowned when he observed the changes that happened on Okami's body. Even when he was in his Dynamax form, he could feel that the enemy could threaten him despite his smaller size. He did not waste his time any longer and used another successive Razor Leaf attack.

Okami collected his energy on his mouth and emitted a dark Fire Blast. It started like an ordinary straight beam and bloomed like a flower when it reached beside the approaching leaves. At once, the two opposing powers clashed against each other but because of the fire's innate advantage against grass moves, the leaves were burned slowly. Even then, some of the rushing leaves were able to passed through the Fire Blast and swirled towards his location.

"Looks like my decision is correct." He stopped some of the leaves with Ember attacks while dodging the rest of them with the help of his Observation Haki.

After a series of exchanges, Dennis noticed that Okami was not teleporting anymore. He suspected something was not right and muttered, "Can't he teleport while in this form?"

Dennis raised his two forelimbs once again and struck the ground, using Earthquake for another round. At once, the tremor waves within the ground rushed to Okami's location.

Okami was caught unprepared because the shock waves reached him in an instant. Now, he was in a real crisis because he was hit by a physical attack move that was effective against his form.

"Aaaaargh!" The tremor waves entered his body and threatened to destroy his every organs. Several gaping wounds were formed on his skin and he vomited a lot of blood. His body was in a total mess because he was covered with his blood.

It was just thanks to his massive stamina and health regeneration that kept him alive. The tremor waves continued to destroy his body but his passive health regeneration healed him up. It was a battle of two opposing powers inside him.

"Looks like I am right!" Dennis cackled like a true villain and lifted his forelimbs to strike the ground once again. Like the first time, the second tremor waves rushed forward once again.

This time, Okami saw his enemy's actions and jumped using his full stength despite the pain he was suffering from. The blood continued to drip but he did not care at all. Instead, his red eyes brightened like a blazing fire and gathered his energy on his mouth. After a few seconds, a powerful dark energy surged out from him and he directed it towards the proud villain.

"Eat my Tailed-Beast Ball, fucker!"
