25 Distributing Free Stat Points

"Hmm... Where should I put these..." While he was being "massaged" by the slimes around him, Vi was thinking about where he should distribute his 100 available stat points. While he was at it, he had his hand put on his chin, staring at the status window in front of his face.

Since he could borrow the world's mana to make use of it, some of the stats were pretty much useless to him.

For example, the Strength stat. Since he could use the world's mana, he could gain attack power far stronger than most players at the same level as him, even if his strength stat was exactly 1. The same went for his Agility and Endurance stats, the world's mana could support him even if he had low stat points from these two stats. He could move swiftly with the help of the world's mana or protect his body to have an impenetrable defense.

That left him with only three choices: Vitality, Intelligence, and Perception.

No, since he could borrow the world's mana anyway, he didn't need to invest his stat points in his Intelligence stat, which could increase his MP. That left him with only two choices, Vitality, and Perception.

Vitality... According to the game developers who revealed pretty much common sense information about the game on the forum, each point distributed to Vitality stat could increase the basic attribute, HP, by 100 points and the advanced attribute, Reflect, by 0.01%. Higher Vitality basically means a higher survival rate.

Not only that, but he could also gain more points for the Reflect chance. Speaking of which, the Reflect advanced attribute, when triggered by chance, could return 50% attack damage from the attacker. That said, it would be better if he could have a higher Reflect chance. He would gain defense and offense at the same time.

On the other hand, each point distributed to the Perception stat could increase the player's Range basic attribute by 10 points and Hit advanced attribute by 0.01%. The basic attribute, Range, basically means the attack range.

It was said that the Perception stat was the bane of the Agility stat and the same went for the other way around. They basically counter each other.

In any case, the Perception stat was the stat of choice by the Marksmen. After all, they could benefit more compared to when the other job classes chose this stat. With their weapons having built-in long-range attacks and high attack power, and with their Job Class Mastery which could increase their attack range by a percentage, the increase in basic attribute Range was a great help to them. With that, they could kill their targets even before they come close to them or even before they locate their position.

But... Could this Perception stat be useful to Vi? Thinking about something, Vi couldn't help but wear a slight frown of disapproval on his face.

Not to mention, long-range characters like Marksmen didn't suit his taste, even if he really liked it, there was just no way that he would put his free stat points on Perception.

After all, he had no weapon to begin with. He didn't have the luck and opportunity to choose one. He had nothing for his Perception stat to support to. He was simply a weaponless and classless player who didn't have the awakened passive skill, active skill, and ability. The passive skills he currently had were obtained from the curse and some unknown entity. Thinking up to this point, Vi had his frustration leveled up by a few levels. He couldn't help but curse the system in his heart.

"Alright, I only have one choice left..." Vi muttered coldly as he stared at the certain stat on the status window. But now that he looked at it, he couldn't help but hold his breath.

Vitality?

Vi suddenly knitted his eyebrows, looking at the Vitality stat. The only beneficial choice that was left for him was actually this stat? Was he destined to be a punching bag?

But now that he thought about it, this Vitality stat was also the highest stat he currently had. It was that good that it actually reached 31, breaking through the cap between middle rank potential and high rank potential.

At the start of the game, most players only received 0 to 9 points for every stat, calling it the lowest rank potential. Only when one or two stats exceed 9 could it be called pseudo-low rank potential.

The low rank potential, on the other hand, gave players 10 to 19 points on all of their stats. Similarly, if one or two of which exceed the limit, it could be deemed a pseudo-middle rank potential. Only when all of the stats exceed 19 would it be deemed as true middle rank potential.

The same went for the high rank potential. Only when all of the stats exceed 30 points would it be called high rank potential. Unless all the stats exceeded 30, it would be called pseudo-high rank potential.

There was also the rare case called the unique rank potential. Some players had a stat or two reaching above 20 or even above 30, while their other stats were just below 9.

Simply put, it would be like this...

Lowest rank potential >> 1-9

Pseudo-low rank potential >> 0-19

Low rank potential >> 10-19

Pseudo-middle rank potential >> 10-29

Middle rank potential >> 20-29

Pseudo-high rank potential >> 20-39

High rank potential >> 30-39

Unique rank potential >> 1-???

The higher the rank of the potential, naturally, the higher the chance they would get stronger quickly than any other players that had low rank potentials. But at the same time, the rarer it was.

In Vi's case, since he had one of his stats exceeding 30, his potential could be pseudo-high rank potential. If there was no other rank higher than high rank potential, then his potential was only second to the strongest. It was something that many players across the globe would be envious of.

But the problem was... That stat was Vitality stat. Not only was this stat his highest stat, but it was also the only stat that could be beneficial for him to invest his free stat points. How depressing. Vi felt lightheaded thinking about it.

No...

Vi suddenly thought of something as a faint smile finally appeared on his lips. Thinking about it the other way, the Vitality stat might not be too bad.

Putting aside that Vi could gain all the other stats through the world's mana or with his passive skill: Supreme Body, the Vitality stat alone would be a good choice as well. If he happened to be attacked by someone sneakily or he was assassinated, or he was fighting multiple enemies at the same time, the chance of his survival would surely increase. Speaking of which, a player with an extremely high HP who also had a high attack, speed, and defense was unheard of. He might as well try to be one.

Thinking up to this point, Vi smiled widely. And thus, he didn't hesitate any longer as he invested all the 100 free stat points in Vitality stat. Just as he planned, if things didn't go well, he could just buy the Reset Stat Potion later on.

Unbeknownst to Vi, while he was distributing his stat points, a group of players was heading in his direction. There were about twenty of them and their group was led by a young lady mounted on a white stallion.

Looking at them more closely, it appeared that all of them were going to launch an all-out attack. They all gave an air that they had fought plenty of monsters, or even players, already.
