[Welcome back dear player!]

The moment the count down reached zero, another hologram screen appeared in Vi's view, welcoming him with widely opened arms. The white field he was in suddenly changed with a flicker as he found himself amidst grassland and woods. It was a place so familiar to him that in there, he knew every nook and cranny.

It was now nighttime similar to the real world. And only the bright moon was giving light to his surroundings. Even so, this was more than enough for him to see his surroundings properly.

Vi right now was only wearing plainly-looking clothes. From head to toe, there was nothing special about his equipment at all. He didn't even have a free weapon to use since he was still yet to complete the first quest.

Even so, even with this crappy equipment that the players could have at the very beginning of their journey, and even without a weapon on hand, they could still kill level 1 monsters with their bare hands. This allowed them to complete the first quest, giving them a weapon of choice as a reward. In any case, the purpose of the first quest was to teach players how to fight without a weapon and to get used to their avatars and to the new world that was introduced to them.

However, the same case couldn't be applied to Vi. Even when he fought so many times against the level 1 monsters in the tutorial ground, he was still yet to kill a single one at all. To pour salt onto the wound, he couldn't even damage them. And this made Vi feel dejected whenever he thought about it. That said, he really was doubtful if he could succeed this time. The only thing he was doing was to try and try again.

"Now then, where should I head first? Which slime should I target this time..." Vi muttered. His sharp gaze swept past his surroundings.

"Found you," Until then, Vi smiled slightly when he saw a small pond at a distance not too far away. The pond was calm and the moonlight reflected on the water. The scenery was so beautiful that if anyone were to look at it, they wouldn't sense even a trace of danger.

However, Vi was so familiar with it already. One of those level 1 monsters was living beneath this pond. If he wasn't careful, just merely standing by the shore of the pond could cause him swift death once that monster made a move.

"Oh? You're back. It seems like you are ready to play again, huh... My dear disciple."

"!"

Just as Vi was planning to head near the pond to deal with the slime living underneath, a sinister voice of a man sounded. Just the sound of that voice alone was more than enough for Vi to feel a chill down his spine.

But he didn't waste his time fearing that voice. He was too used to it as he had already died plenty of times from its owner. Thus, he reacted quickly as he turned around and put some distance away from the source of that sinister voice.

And there he saw a strange slime.

"Bone Slime!" Vi called out as he gritted his teeth. This was the slime that caused his death last time. He was played to death one-sidedly as he still felt a chill running down his spine when he recalled the gruesome experience he suffered from this monster.

Looking at the slime warily, Vi swallowed a mouthful of saliva. This slime was completely different than what was said on the internet about the slime in the tutorial ground. Instead of a soft and jelly-like body, this slime was as though it was clad in skull armor. Although it looked like an armor, it was actually the monster's skin.

That armor-like skin was so hard that no matter how many times Vi had to attack it, and no matter what methods he used, he wasn't able to damage it in the slightest. As a level 1 monster, this slime was also so tyrannical that it wouldn't let him die so easily unless he was played to death for a couple of hours. But thanks to that, after fighting it for some time, Vi gained some understanding regarding the use of weapons.

With that in mind, Vi picked a wooden stick he found in his surroundings. He raised it and pointed it towards the Bone Slime. His eyes turned sharp, his aura became sharper. It was as though Vi had just become a completely different person.

"I was planning to kill that Blood Slime first. But now that you have come to me yourself, I have changed my mind and I will take you down first," Vi suddenly let out a cold voice. Strangely enough, the wooden stick that he currently held gave off a feeling that it was sharper than a sword.

"Ohoho, my disciple learned pretty fast, huh. As expected for the one I have chosen, you really are talented." The Bone Slime laughed in delight when he saw how Vi was acting against him. The way the other party held the stick was exactly the same as what he told him. Even the use of mana was so precise that he appeared like he was an expert. If he was given a fine sword instead, the Bone Slime was afraid that he wouldn't stand a chance at all if he fought him.

Finally, this kid learned it. To think that his talent would exceed his expectations. The Bone Slime was filled with joy.

"Disciple my ass! I will kill you!" But as a response, Vi roared furiously as he charged forward. Surprisingly, his movement couldn't be said to be slow at all. It was so fast that he closed 10 meters in just the blink of an eye.

Swoosh!

Vi then brandished his wooden stick against the Bone Slime the moment he got close enough. Surprisingly, the slash was so swift that it created a bone-piercing sound. The weight of his attack seemed so heavy as well that if he were to attack normal monsters, they would be crushed onto the ground to their death.

However, though Vi could execute such strength, the person in question wasn't aware of his own strength. After all, the level 1 monsters he was facing in the tutorial ground made him feel so weak and very little. If he couldn't defeat these trifling things, how could he have a face to say that he was strong?

Slam!

Just as he expected, his attack didn't affect the Bone Slime at all. Before Vi could land a hit, a bone-like halberd popped out from the slime's body. It blocked his attack with no difficulty at all.

"Pour more strength into it, my dear disciple. You cannot free (kill) me with just this." The Bone Slime let out a sinister laugh as a response to Vi's furious attack. He then swung his floating halberd as Vi was sent backward quite easily. His feet slid on the ground trying to stop himself from the force pushing him away. Shortly after, seeing that Vi had managed to stabilize himself, the Bone Slime continued with a wide grin, "Is this the furthest you can go? My dear disciple."

"You..." Vi could only grind his teeth in response. The wooden stick was still pointed at the Bone Slime as he could only tighten his grip on it. He didn't know why, but he couldn't get used to the arrogance of this slime. On top of that, this monster, as well as the other four slimes, always called him their dear disciple. And it could only ignite his frustration more and more the more he heard it from them.
