Chapter 32

Gayatri had done a commendable effort in steering his focus from the operation on his mother but soon she wasn't able to distract him as he was focused on the operation again as she could only stay there and wait.

The operation itself was delicate and had to be done with extreme focus and they couldn't make a mistake. The doctors had also become aware of the fact that Gayatri, a gold player's little sister is an acquaintance of the patient.

That served to further drive them to get the operation right as they don't want their hospital or themselves to lose credibility should she be dissatisfied with the operation.

It is no surprise that the Gold Players hold absolute power and influence in their countries and even if the government wants to do something, they can't since the Gold Players are absolutely essential for the protection of the people and the territory.

There is also the fact that the people and the other Players look up to them which is why they hesitate to anger the Gold Ranked Players.

The doctors who had learned about it also became nervous as they gave their absolute focus in completing the task at hand and to not make any mistakes during the operation.

Gayatri and Michael stood at their places anxiously as they waited for the operation to come to an end. After a few hours of waiting, the operation was completed and the doctor incharge of it walked out of the room as Michael and Gayatri went to him.

"So, how did it go?" Michael asked a bit nervously.

"The operation was done successfully. As for the effects, you will have to wait for sometime before the results show itself." The doctor said to him as he looked at the two of them.

"So she will be moved to her room again?" Michael asked him seriously at that.

"Yes. So I ask you to be patient with us." The doctor said to him with a polite tone.

"Fine. When will she be moved?" Michael said to the doctor seriously.

"In a few minutes, after a few checks have been done on her." The doctor said to him with a nod.

"Alright." Michael said with a sigh as the doctor went inside.

The doctor also didn't miss the sharp and piercing look that Gayatri was sending him as he unconsciously shivered as he walked inside. He could feel some cold sweat on his forehead as he remembered the look on her face.

'Who would've thought that a teenage girl would be able to have eyes like that.' The doctor thought to himself in nervousness and fear as he went to the do the checks on the mother.

Outside the operation room Michael leaned on the wall and sighed to himself as he thought about how it would go as Gayatri looked at them. She then placed her hand on his shoulder as he looked at her and she gave a small smile to him.

"It will be alright. They are doing the best and you had paid the money. They will have to deliver." Gayatri said to him with a smile on her face.

'If they don't then I'll make them.' Gayatri thought to herself as she looked at the operation room.

The two were silent as they looked at the operation room and soon it was opened and Michael's mother was wheeled out by a nurse as she noticed them and nodded to them.

She then wheeled it out of the room and the two followed as she went to the same room that his mother was previously at and entered it as she thought about how to move the woman.

"I will call another nurse for that." The nurse said to them but Gayatri stopped her by raising her hand.

"I'll do it." Gayatri said to her as Michael looked at her surprised.

He was more than willing to do it and was also about to move but he was surprised by her words. She gave him a glance before she went and picked up his mom and then slowly placed her on the bed, very gently.

"Thank you." The nurse said a bit surprised at the actions of the young girl.

"It's no problem for me." Gayatri said dismissively as she looked at the woman on the bed.

"Well, I will leave this room now and inform the doctor. Please just wait for a few... for sometime for her to awaken." The nurse said as she corrected herself midway.

The two noticed her correcting her words but they didn't call it out as she left the room as the two watched her leave. After she left Michael looked at his mother and sighed as he went and sat beside the bed after pulling a chair.

"Do you think it worked?" Michael asked her as he looked at the younger girl.

"I don't know. I know nothing about medicine anyway. We can only hope that it worked." Gayatri said to him with a shrug of her shoulders.

"I guess that's the only thing that we can do." Michael said with a sigh as he looked at his unconscious mother.

The two sat silently as they watched over his mother.

At the same time, Aravind is currently looking at the information about the players that he had recruited for the group. He has to make sure that they are correct, and good people without much problems as he knows that anyone could become a Player should the being on the other side deem it so.

He went through their profiles individually as he scanned and read them with full focus. While he couldn't say that the information he has is fully credible, it is what he currently has right now.

As he went through it he came upon the information regarding Michael, as he remembered his friend talking about Arun's sister's friend as he grew curious.

"I'll check him first." Aravind muttered to himself as he looked at his data.

He looked at the data and read through it as he learned about his education as well. But then his eyes widened when he reached the information regarding his family as he read through it.

"So, he only has his mother left." Aravind said as he looked at the screen.

His eyes were sympathetic as he looked at the boy and saw how she had been in a coma for a long time.

"Why hasn't he gotten any help from the organisation I had created for people who suffered from these gates?" Aravind thought out loud as he looked at the screen with narrowed eyes.

'Perhaps it's time I took a look at it as well.' Aravind thought to himself as he watched the data.
