Chapter 11

"Aren't you that Gold Players sister?" Lakshmi asked her surprised.

"Yes I am. My name is Gayatri. And you are?" Gayatri asked the girl.

"My name is Lakshmi. I'm his partner." Lakshmi said as she introduced herself as well.

"I see. He had just told me that you two are members of a party." Gayatri said to her with a smile.

"Yeah, we have great synergy. By the way, we do need to go find a Gate and complete it. With school and all." Lakshmi said to her as she walked to Michael.

"Oh right. Yeah, we do need to do that." Michael said as he remembered it.

"I see. I wish you two luck." Gayatri said with a smile.

"Thanks." Lakshmi said with a smile.

"See you soon." Michael said before he walked away with Lakshmi.

Gayatri watched the two walk away before a sad expression came to her face. She sighed as she watched them before she stood up and walked in the opposite direction.

"I didn't expect you to know her." Lakshmi said to him as they walked.

"We were childhood friends. But we have drifted apart from each other after we separated from each other." Michael said as she was surprised to hear it.

"Huh. That's surprising to hear." Lakshmi said surprised.

"Yeah. So, do you know where our next Gate is?" Michael asked her.

"Yep." Lakshmi said as she showed the location on her phone.

"Great. Let's go." Michael said with a smile.

Then the two went to the location where ta 2* Gate is and entered it as they had a smile on their face. The place this time is a forest area but had enough space for them to fight. They looked at each other and nodded before Lakshmi closed the Gate.

Then the monsters appeared but this time they were 35 Hobgoblins (lvl 7) and 25 demonic snakes (lvl 8). The latter disturbed them a bit as they summoned their weapons.

"Uh, I don't work well with snakes." Lakshmi said to him nervously.

"Me too. Want to burn them?" Michael asked her as he readied his Rings.

Lakshmi looked at him before she smiled and lit her whip on fire as she raised it over her head.

"Fried Goblins and Snakes coming right up!" Lakshmi said with a smile before she attacked.

Her whips fire spread from it to the forest and due to it being a forest area a fire soon started and the Goblins and Snakes were in the forest so they got caught up as they were damaged from the fire.

"Nice." Michael said before he dashed at them.

He shot his Rings which hit the Hobgoblins sending them flying back before he made the energy whip and started to hit the Hobgoblins. One snake tried to attack him but he already realised it as he jumped and shot one Ring inside the snake's mouth.

He then landed on the ground and called his Ring which tried to get out of the snake's body as it tried to keep it in. But the Ring came out of the snake's body as he controlled it and sent it hurling back as it went through the demonic snake's head.

"Michael help!" Lakshmi shouted getting his attention.

He turned and saw that Lakshmi has been surrounded by other demonic snakes and even though their HP is close to zero. He jumped high above the treeline and then shot the Rings from his right arm which hit the snakes and killed them. But he then had to dodge the attacks of the snakes who seemed to be spitting venom from their fangs.

He narrowly dodged it and his eyes widened when he saw the venom hit a tree and melt it.

'Acid?!' Michael thought to himself in alarm.

"Lakshmi! The snakes shoot acid from their teeth! Don't let it touch you!" Michael shouted to her.

"Got it!" Lakshmi shouted back before she extended her whip and started to attack wildly as she didn't need to care about hitting Michael as he isn't near her.

The snakes were also attacked by Michael as he kept on shooting his Rings from one arm and the other as their combined efforts managed to kill the snake's surrounding Lakshmi. One snake tried to do a sneak attack on Michael. But he dodged it and grabbed its tail before slamming it on the ground.

Then he got an idea and he used the snake to attack one of the Hobgoblins and the snake bit the Hobgoblin's leg. The snake's teeth sunk into the leg of the Hobgoblin and it cried in pain as its HP bar hit zero before it was destroyed.

He smiled before he threw the snake at a charging group of Hobgoblins and ran back to Lakshmi who was running away from the area where they had killed the demonic snake's as they met with eachother.

"How many are left?" Lakshmi asked him.

"If I'm correct then 23 Hobgoblins and 15 demonic snakes are left." Michael said to her as he looked around him as the remaining enemies appeared around them.

Their HP was either about to hit the red zone or were in the yellow zone as the two stood back to back. Lakshmi lit her whip as Michael got ready with his Rings.

"We have to finish this fast. The Hobgoblins are easy, the snakes are the real problem." Michael said to her as he looked at the enemies.

"The snakes are about to shoot." Lakshmi said as the snakes lifted themselves off the ground.

"Grab onto my left arm." Michael said to her.

Lakshmi was confused but still did as he told her as she grabbed his arm as tightly as she could. The snakes then shot their acid as Michael multiplied his strength by 2 and jumped high into the air as Lakshmi was a bit shocked.

"Hold on!" Michael said as he brought one Ring out of his right arm and held it as he used it to fly so to speak as the enemies roared at them.

"Michael. Please don't let go." Lakshmi said scared as she didn't want to fall on the enemies.

Michael safely landed them a bit away from the enemies as he saw them coming towards them.

'We can't get too close to the snakes, lest we get hit with acid. The best choice is to use long range attacks.' Michael thought to himself as he activated all 5 Rings on his right arm and 3 Rings on his left arm.

He multiplied his strength by 6 times and his speed by 4 times as he got ready to shoot as Lakshmi watched him and decided to stand behind him. The enemies ran towards them but he shot his Rings right at them as they went in shocking speeds immediately reaching the enemies.

The only thing they saw were Rings before they were blown back as the Rings tore through them. The ground was ripped asunder as the top of the ground was carved away due to the speed of the Rings as all the enemies were in its path. The ones directly in front of the Rings were obliterated completely while the ones beside the Rings were sent flying due to he shockwave generated by the Rings.

But Michael wasn't done as he sent the Rings on his left arm and hovered them in front of him before he sent them flying straight towards the heads of the airborne enemies. His Rings managed to destroy the heads of the enemies as they disappeared in response to his attack.

Lakshmi watched with wide eyes at how he had managed to defeat the enemies and was happy that she has such a strong friend. But then a sad expression came to her face.

'He's so strong. There is actually no need for me to help him at all. Not to mention the fact that he was the one who mainly completed the 2* Gate when we first met.' Lakshmi thought to herself in sadness.

She then looked at him as his Rings returned to him as he smiled at them.

'He won't tell me to go away would he. No, he's my friend and he's very kind. I'm sure that he won't do that. I just have to get stronger to make sure that I can stand and fight beside him.' Lakshmi thought to herself in determination as she looked at her partner.
