Destroy the forest!

So, I took stock of the situation, I was alone in the middle of a forest lost somewhere in a world located inside a game without a minimum idea about what to do and clueless on how to fight or cast spells or whatever else people do in that kind of game. I thought I was doomed to be blocked in there forever. What a horrible death, death from boringness sitting on a rock in an imaginary forest where no one knew about you... Now that I think of it, it is so fun playing games on a pc that I never thought about what the character's inside felt, surely now that I'm one of them I fully understand how terrible their life is even though they aren't real.

Well, I did have to do something so I got up and had a walk, at least exploring the place is more helpful than complete nothingness. There was a path there so I followed it between the invisible glances of those trees -that I was sure were just watching my moves and would become monsters at the first convenient occasion. After a while I came to the end of the path, some kind of big precipice, fortunately, I wasn't running or I would have fallen and caused instantaneous death from falling damage, after all, that was a game, so game rules applied, or not?

So if that was really the end of the forest from that side and not an illusion then I would have had to return to my initial position because that zone was even less helpful than the one before. I was just turning around when I saw something unusual. Some kind of floating purple rock was just some footsteps away from me, I wasn't sure it was safe but it was the first-ever thing which seemed to be useful that I saw in that too quiet forest so I carefully made it towards it and got closer to examine it.

It was just what it seemed from the far distance, just a piece of purple floating rock. I was just going to touch it to prove myself when something jumped on me, I got in guarding position and took a fallen twig as a weapon to defend myself. It was just a leaf which the wind carried till it fell on me! How much was the sensibility meter set to? I got back to my stone, but wait a minute! Where was it? Then I looked over my head and saw, just over the place where the rock was, a huge purple panel could be clearly seen in the air. It said:

"Welcome to the starting zone, where all adventures start! To see your status shout out status, to cast a spell move your arm forwards and use a power symbol, to open another panel shout out the panel name, prosecute forward for Newbridge Town."

Finally some kind of indication! I said status again, so that I could check if there was anything new. It now said:

Name: Cerys

Class: ???

Level: 2

Exp: 45/100

Abilities: Any compatible, 2 available

Strength: 6/10

Mana: 10/10

Inventory: Empty

I was more than delighted in seeing this, two new abilities! What were they? I definitely wanted to try them. But how did I do? Umm, the indication panel said to shout out the name of a panel to open it so what about shouting "abilities"? It was worth a try. I took a deep breath and yelled "ABILITIES!", the panel opened right in front of me. Yes, I did it! But there was also a negative side to it... I may have shouted too loudly as the ground started quaking, an earthquake? No, it was worse than an earthquake, I was right about the trees being monsters! Another red panel showed next to the blue abilities one, it said :

NEW ENEMY DETECTED!

Enemy: Plantidian Colossus

Level: 1

Strength: 10/10

Abilities: 4

-Call of allies: can call an entire forest of plantidians to its help.

-Growth: the entire forest can perform a collective healing which makes any damage vain

-Rage: once found its enemy it doesn't stop until it destroys it

-Vines Stroke: can generate vines from itself which are used as tentacles in fighting

Description:

-Lays dormant for years and attacks whoever wakes it up. Gets its nutriment from fertile soil, the absence from it for a prolonged period can cause self-swelling and death.

It wasn't a good moment for me, I was going to get killed by a walking vegetable... what a shame I didn't even have time to try my abilities... wait, my abilities! They could help me fight these enemies! I was running whilst reading but following is what the panel showed:

ABILITIES

Passive:

-Danger Reveal: you can sense dangers in advantage having the possibility to react quicker.

Active:

-Levitation: you can float in the air by creating mana platforms, you can also use your will to create mana platforms for other purposes as long as their main work is to float.

Great! That was exactly what I needed! I definitely got Danger Reveal thanks to that leaf that fell on me but I wasn't sure how I got levitation, maybe from the closeness to the precipice void? Anyways I could use Levitation to levitate over the void and escape from that death-searching forest. The power symbol for levitation was a horizontal platform so I quickly got in "cast-a-spell" position to make the power symbols appear and clicked the levitation one, I now could create platforms by just moving my hand towards my target, thinking about my target or by combining the two...

Now, it may have seemed from my narration that this took ages but in truth, it was all done in less than a minute, remember, after all, a horde of crazy plant-monsters were behind me! I created a platform a jumped on it just in time before one of the colossus reached me. It didn't end there! I forgot about the Vines Stroke ability, millions of vines were pointed at me at the same time, I didn't know what to do... Thankfully my Danger Reveal, which was passive so it was always on, advised me early and so I got enough time to move away from the direction of the vines. I caught the moment and grabbed the vines, that landed just a few inches away from me, and used tried to use them to pull the creatures towards the void, it didn't work, my strength not enough, but I still achieved intent as some of them in the strive to get their vines back loosed balance and fell creating a chain reaction which led to all of them falling forward, as their weakness was the absence of fertile soil they probably died in the long fall and I didn't have to see them again...

Lucky me but of the forest remained only a few real plants, the rest an empty space... I gradually created platforms to make some stairs and land on the ground. Leaving the fruit of my destruction behind me and leading towards the nearby town that the purple indication panel talked about.

And this my friends, was the story of how I destroyed an entire forest on my first battle, just after entering that videogame world, new hopes and new experiences still waiting for me on my path...

This is far the second chapter but the story already became interesting for our main character, what do you think will happen next? Comment it down below!

Chapters of this book will be posted out regularly, maybe affecting the other book on which I'll work less, please support me and be patient if I make mistakes, and obviously share with everyone you know!
