19 The Amalgamation

??? POV——

What is Death? What does that mean.

Lately, this question arised within me because we, as simple mortals, can be made to feel uneasy, distracted, or derailed by death in any form: mass death, or the prospect of our own; deaths of people unknown to us that we only hear or read about; or deaths of people who tear the fabric of our lives when they go. Even now, both in politics and in everyday life, one of the worst things we could do is get used to death, treat it as unremarkable or as anything other than a loss. That is what we are taught. This is simply not true.

This 'fact' has profound consequences for every facet of life: politics and governance, interpersonal relationships, and all forms of human consciousness. This is why my brothers and sisters have sought out a change in these beliefs. In death, there is life. Upon the decay of the living untold numbers of bacteria, viruses, insects and other carrion-feeders thrive. All life feeds upon other life to exist, and from every plague grows new generations, stronger and more virile than those who came before. Regeneration comes from decay, just as hope springs from despair. The greatest inspiration comes in the darkest moments; in times of crisis we mortals are truly tested and driven to excel.

And yet they would have us cower before it. FOOLS! They followed their simple gods, Zeus, Poseidon, Demeter, and the other lot among them.

Yet they all passed over the greatest amongst the Olympians. Maegor, in all his glory, upon Heaven and Earth, he alone is the Honored One.

To understand what might otherwise seem contradictory or even perverse in nature, one must first comprehend that which Maegor embodies. Maegor is the Great Lord of Decay and the Master of Plague and Pestilence. All things, no matter how solid and permanent they seem, are liable to eventual corruption and death. Even the process of creation is but the precursor to destruction and decay. The bastion of today is tomorrow's ruin, the maiden of the morning is the crone of the night, and the hope of a moment is but the foundation of regret.

Though Maegor is the ultimate creator of every infection and epidemic to have ever swept the universe, he is not a morose purveyor of despair and gloom, but in fact a vibrant god of life and laughter. While Maegor is the god of death and decay, he is also the god of rebirth. Decay is simply one part of the cycle of life, without which no new life could grow. In the same way, he is also the god of perseverance and survival. While those who wish to spread decay and corruption are certainly amongst its followers, there are also those, like us, who wish to endure, to become resilient enough to handle the difficulties and opportunities presented by an uncaring universe. Many of those affected by Maegor's poxes usually turn to him in order to escape the pain and sheer despair caused by sickness and disease.

"Brothers! Today marks a day that will told amongst our people for generations! Let us spread our generous god's love with Loquaciousness!!!" In all my days have I never found faith like this. To be free from life's greatest fear and burden and actually take control of what is happening now and look forward to what will happen when I pas from this life to the next…..it is beautiful.

I felt as tears ran down my face, and as I looked to the crowd before me, I could see their tears fall as well. Truly, they had come to the same conclusion as me, 'Our god, our leader into the good, long night was watching with his loving and warm eyes.' We all collectively thought.

"COME!! LET US SHARE THE GIFTS OF MAEGOR!! THE TIME OF VIRULENT REBIRTH IS UPON US!!!"

Hades POV

That boy….

Ever since I first laid my eyes upon him, I knew he would be a great god. His soul itself was rambunctious and free. When he entered my hands, warmth spread throughout my body, as if...…as if embraced by a loved one. That was how I imagined it as I had a fair share of experience in witnessing mortals embrace their loved ones once they reunited.

The boy himself was mystery. He seemed as cold and unfeeling as me, his father. But those eyes held the same family caring as Hestia, just in a...….different way. Hestia could not push herself to harm a fly, but Maegor?

Maegor would crush that fly and its family if it could enter his embrace in the afterlife.

*KRAAAAACKKKKKOOOOOOOMMMMM*

Thunder met my ears before lightning entered my vision. I turned my head to its direction and behold..Zeus with my siblings and their children. "Hades, where is your son, is he not to show us his little pet?" Poseidon spoke first. "Why could he not have just showed this 'specimen' upon Olympus?"

"Maegor has already claimed the thing's soul. Taking it would require Maegor's permission. It is simple to just visit him in his personal abode." Athena intervened before Ares and his mouth would get him in trouble.

I took a moment to think about this. 'Even still, Zeus would just order anyone else to just give up permission to take the body. Zeus must hold Maegor in high standard to just make Olympus in its almost whole visit.'

"And why are upon this place, Hades?" Zeus asked me. "Where is the entrance to his abode?"

He didnt know that the entrance to his garden could be accessed by anyone, including mortals? Mortals would have to travel to the island 'Barbarus'.

A place of hideous hues, a fume-wreathed nether-hell where disease runs rampant and barbarian tribes cling to a nightmarish existence amidst rotting forests and swamps. Worm-eaten mountains rise to pierce the churning skies, their flanks roamed by plague-ridden abominations that should be dead yet still prey on mortal flesh.

I recognized a few horrified faces. Hestia, Hera, Apollo and Demeter all churned with the sights. How pathetic, gods that cannot control their disgust?

"The entrance to his private realm is accessible to anyone and everyone. Currently, we stand upon it." I move to the side to reveal a gate of twisted, bulbous warts infected skin. "Shall we enter?"

.

"Groovy!"

(Somebody should make a kingdom building fic in GOT but use Ancient Middle-Eastern kingdoms(ancient Persian, Muslims and Arabic) They could be Rhoynish that escaped to Ulthos and came back into the world or they could be Dorne that became extremely powerful and rules Dorne with an iron fist as Sultans or whatever their rulers were called. Mc could be Saladin and you could make a whole war where the Andals invade Dorne and it would be somewhat similar to the Crusades(not really but kinda). You could make multiple wars like that. Maybe when Aegon conquers Westoros, he, along with his dragons, his sisters, The North, Westerlands, Reach, Stormlands, Vale, Riverlands, and Iron Islands(?) try to invade again. You could even have them be in Essos and conquer most of Essos and Sothoryos….im rambling on right now, sorry.)

(Also, somebody take these before I do something non of us will like.)
