Chapter 1: A New Beginning

Elijah Hokum Sosa had always been a laid-back kind of guy. He liked to go with the flow and take things as they came. But lately, things had been getting a little rough. He was having some girl trouble, and money was tight. He had a job, sure, but it didn't pay very well, and he was struggling to make ends meet.

Despite his troubles, Elijah remained optimistic. He knew that things would work out eventually, and he had a new opportunity on the horizon. He had an interview lined up for tonight that could potentially change his life.

As Elijah walked home from the supermarket, he heard a voice that seemed to echo through the entire city. It was a voice that he had never heard before, and it seemed to be speaking directly to him.

"Attention, humans," the voice boomed. "Your population has reached the criteria for the universal war. Prepare for your tutorial. It will begin in 24 hours."

At first, Elijah thought he was dreaming. But then he felt a strange sensation in his body, as though it was being reconstructed from the inside out. He heard a voice in his head, clear and authoritative.

"Welcome, host," the voice said. "I am the Universal Awakening system, here to guide you to the pinnacle path."

Elijah was an avid reader and gamer, so he adapted quickly to the strange new reality. But he still couldn't believe what was happening to him. He pinched himself hard, hoping to wake up from the bizarre dream.

Suddenly, a searing pain shot through his body, and Elijah fell to his knees. It felt like every cell in his body was being rearranged, remade. The pain was excruciating, and it seemed like it would never end.

After one hour of intense pain, the sensation subsided and Elijah's body felt different. He looked at his hands and realized that they looked more toned and muscular than before. Confused and bewildered, he tried to stand up but stumbled for a moment before regaining his balance. That was when he heard the system's neutral voice.

"Congratulations, Elijah Hokum Sosa. Your body has been reconstructed and you are now a host of the Universal Awakening system," said the voice.

Elijah was in disbelief. He had heard about virtual reality games, but this was something else entirely. He couldn't help but ask, "What's happening to me? What's this system?"

"Welcome host, I am the Universal Awakening system here to guide you to the pinnacle path," the voice responded. "Your body has been reconstructed to reach your fullest potential. The panel in front of you shows your current status. You are now at full health and have 10 MP. You also have a unique skill called Adoptability, which improves your spirit, will, and luck attributes by ten times."

Elijah looked at the panel in front of him and saw the attributes and skills that the system had given him. He was amazed at what he saw. He had always been a fan of games and reading, but this was something else entirely.

"Is this real?" he asked the system, still trying to come to grips with the situation.

"Yes, Elijah Hokum Sosa. This is your reality now," the system answered in its neutral voice.

Elijah tried to process everything that was happening to him. He had been living an ordinary life, facing the usual struggles of a young adult trying to make ends meet. But now, he had been given a chance to be more than what he was. He looked around and saw that the world looked the same, but he knew that everything had changed.

"What do I do now?" Elijah asked the system.

"First, you must complete the tutorial to understand the mechanics of the system," the voice replied. "The tutorial has already begun. Please proceed to the designated location to start your training."

Elijah had no idea what he was getting himself into, but he knew that this was the start of a new adventure. He took a deep breath and started walking towards the direction the system had instructed him to go.
