The Pillar's Mission

"Are you sure about this? When you trade your mermaid form for the birth of someone who can save him your power as the Pillar will eventually decrease. It will only return by the time that girl dies according to plan." the sea god said as I look at him with a sigh.

"I do understand, I am aware of the danger of having weak magic as the Pillar. But I will do my best to do my mission in exchange all I want is for him to survive… even if he will be with someone else." I said with a sigh as I feel my chest tightening knowing the consequences of this deal I am making with the sea god.

"Seirena, YOU are your father's daughter. Strong-willed, thoughtful, honest, and weak when it comes to the people you love. Love is one weakness that your enemies can use against you… be careful, Seirena my dear. I will wait for the time and watch until you succeed with your mission, dear child. Be careful… the path you may face is beyond dangerous as you could ever imagine. I want to see what kind of a Pillar you will become, are you going to be the world's salvation... or its ultimate destruction?" the sea god said before he disappeared into thin air.

'That is easy said than done. What will I do knowing Lash will die one day… the man I love will die to save everyone. I-I cannot bear it. The idea I have may be risky and unfair but what choice do I have? It is either I do this or do nothing at all.' I sigh as I rub my aching forehead.

Just like that, I became the Pillar, the bridge that will protect and hold the balance of sea and land but the last thing the sea god said made me worried. But with my responsibilities and mission as the Pillar and seeing the fate of the man I love… I had to risk it for how can I be successful in my mission when my heart and mind are with the man I love and his fated death. I sigh as I look out of the window gazing into the sea view from my apartment building. This world has so many mysteries that hide in the dark. To normal humans, things like witches, vampires, zombies, fairies, and mermaids are just fantasies that are impossible to believe. Unknown to everyone one of them said creatures do exist hidden amongst normal humans.

"Lady Seirena, are you sure about everything? You had sacrificed everything just for him. You even sacrifice your birthright and your mermaid form just to save him." my friend and assistant Felmarie who is also born on the sea and my missing father's trusted servant which he had sent to look after my mother before he disappeared not knowing I am conceived.

If you had heard it right yes, I am a mermaid so is Felmarie. People think that mermaids are only folktales told by older people to youngsters but we do exist… not just us mer people who are half human and half tails but there are also monsters and other entities you can imagine. Not just that but gods also exists just like the sea god who watch over the seas. My mother is human but my father is a great mage and a merman king. They met when my mother saved my wounded father on the shore and they fell in love but my father left mom not knowing she is pregnant. He returns to his kingdom and finds out that it was now ruled by the one who drives him out. Leaving that evil merman with a curse before my father disappeared without even knowing I was born and he is nowhere to be found.

"I love him… I love him more than anything. Because of him, I am who I am today. I cannot bear to live knowing he is gone and I will forever feel so bad knowing that I could do something to help him from his dark fate created by that curse. What is more heart-breaking is that he had been in so much pain after his brother and lover cheated and made a fool out of him and until now unaccepted by their father. Then there is the fact that the curse he has is the curse given by my father to that evil man who had taken his kingdom. It is just a sad thing that when Vlash killed that man the curse had passed to him. I will be happy if only he will be saved." I said making my friend and trusted mermaid servant Felmarie take a deep sigh.

"Do not forget Lady Seirena that you have your responsibilities as the Pillar. If you die, everything will be for nothing. Darkness will rule the world when you die. THAT is what the sea god had told you. YET, as hard-headed as you are you still made that deal with him just to save King Lashervon." Felmarie said making me sigh as I look at her.

"I know Felmarie that is why I made that deal with the sea god so that a human girl can be born in exchange for my mermaid form. She will be the one who will save Vlash and will sacrifice… only with their love can the curse be broken. I know, for if there is DEATH there will always be death." I said as I sigh.

I look at the sea, one that I love and that makes me feel calm but… when I made that deal with the sea god I have to refrain from going there or Vlash will notice that I can no longer transform into my mermaid form. Lashervon is the man I love and he is known as Vlash in the land while he is called Lashervone or Dark King in the sea.

"Does that mean that someone will die?" Felmarie utters in pure shock as she looks at me.

"With the curse inside Vlash, he is already destined to die BUT… I will not let that happen. That is where that human girl comes in." I utter as I look at her while her eyes widen.

"So you mean…"

Yes, that is what I mean… unfair as it may seem but what choice do I have. By the way, how is the agency? I supposed all our talented artists are doing fine with their careers." I said changing the topic.

"Hmnn they are doing fine. Our talents are blooming more than any other talent out there. By the way, there is a matter about Miss Delvanes. Many issues came out about her relationship and her past. We asked her properly but she said it is all lies. We had made an investigation it appears that one of her competitors is smudging her name." Felmarie said as I sigh knowing the world of the entertainment industry where there will always be those people who will pull others down just for them to climb up the ladder.

I am silently eating dinner when Felmarie came running into the dining hall looking like she had been in a marathon. I look at her as she is breathing heavily while rubbing her chest. She just came from the company and might have rushed here which explains how she looks now.

"We- We have a problem! A very big problem." she utters making me look at her.

"What?"

"Someone is trashing the agency name and one of our talents Grizalla had been kidnapped. There is more... the sea is starting to become scary. The party we held for Xander on a cruise ship… is in big trouble. What should we do?" Felmarie said as I stand in pure shock before I turn to the glass wall behind my chair just to see that sea becoming so scary indicating that there will be a tsunami coming.

"Call our friends and conduct a secret rescue mission. Make sure none of those reporters hear anything about this kidnapping and that cruise ship. Why are our young talents so hardheaded anyway? We told them to lay low and don't mix personal life and work, things will be like a war when it comes to the entertainment industry." I said as I sigh before looking out of the glass wall.

"As you wish. I will send a message to my brother, we may need his help." Felmarie said before leaving.

I look towards the window and through the fogging glass, I could see dark clouds meters away right on the sea. The sound of raging thunder is heard all around followed by the alarm of the beach indicating a strong storm is approaching. The sound is nothing, nothing like a serine song. Those innocent humans have no idea what danger is approaching, one I am dreading.
