20: Together In the Passenger Seat

The morning seems so bright and beautiful to Sabrina. She loves waking up beside ICE and being greeted with so much love and affection. It's a feeling she absolutely adores, but unfortunately, her thoughts were interrupted by the loud noises of running kids.

"GOOD MORNING, AUNTIES!!" The twins greeted at the same time while they were chasing each other around the kitchen. Sabrina sighed but she was smiling at how innocent they were.

"Twins, what I told you from running around while Daddy wasn't available at the moment?" ICE reminded the kids who suddenly stopped running around and sat beside Sabrina at the island countertop.

"Sorry, Aunty." the twins said in unison.

"Aunty, where's Mommy? We slept together last night but woke up alone in our bedroom." Ruby asked in her sweet voice while waiting for their breakfast that ICE has been preparing by herself.

"Yeah, we miss her so much." Garnet added while pouting since he was trying to be cute.

"And you know how busy Mommy was. She was handling lots of papers works because she was a lawyer for anyone who hired her. Plus, aside from doing public service, she was the Marques family lawyer that's why she was very busy." ICE turned around and placed the omelet rice that they love. It was their favorite.

"We know that but we can't help but miss her around us." Garnet still pouting while eating. They were indeed missing their mother.

"Don't worry, Twins, Mommy always watching you wherever you go. That's how ninja moves right?" ICE was smiling and thinking of something to reason with the kids.

"Oh, Mommy was doing ninja moves?" Garnet sounded surprised and amazed at what their mother can do but Ruby, on the other hand, was not buying it at all and just ate her breakfast quietly like a behaved girl.

"Yes, she's been doing that a lot so focus on your studies since you'll be surprised when your mother suddenly appears wherever you might be." ICE chuckled as she ruffled their hair before giving Sabrina and herself their own breakfast.

The twins nodded and went on to dig their breakfast. It was peacefully quiet until Earl came in while yawning. He greeted everyone and started digging into what ICE already reserved for him.

"Uncle, I'll drop the twins at their school since Sab and I will go to the hotel. I have an early meeting today." ICE break the building ice around them.

"Noted, I'll be heading to check the others for their updates. Also, you need to respond to them." Earl nodded and reminded ICE about the assignment that she just received recently from the police.

"I will after I deal with my meeting." ICE nodded and finished her food while Sabrina was already doing the dishes.

"Okay, kiddo get ready for school. Aunties will take you there." Earl said to his kids and they were both grinning excitedly.

"Okay, see you later, Daddy." Garnet kissed Earl's cheek before dashing to their bedroom.

"Say I love you to Mommy for us. Love you." Ruby sweetly giggled and kissed her father's cheeks as well before tailing her twin brother to their bedroom.

Earl turned to respond, but his attention was diverted when he noticed that his twins were no longer in sight. He let out a sigh of relief, knowing that his babies were enjoying themselves. As he glanced across the island countertop, he couldn't help but smirk at the two ladies standing there.

"So, what's your relationship status now, ladies?" Earl tried to tease the ladies but Sabrina turned and shoot her cold piercing glare at him. He shivered and just drop his question.

"I'll check on the kids. Laters." Early just excused himself since he doesn't want to deal with the anger management that Sabrina had there.

When they were alone in the kitchen, ICE started to giggle. Sabrina gave her a stern look, but couldn't help but feel a bit giddy herself. She was thoroughly enjoying the morning with ICE by her side. The two of them worked together seamlessly, cleaning the dishes up and chatting about the day ahead. It was a rare moment of peace and happiness, and Sabrina knew she would cherish it for a long time to come. She couldn't help but smile at ICE's infectious laughter. It was moments like these that made her grateful for their friendship to love.

"Seriously, stop that giggle or I will kiss you again." Sabrina's warning was clear and firm. ICE took her seriously and stopped giggling. She leaned closer, her expression serious and intense. Sabrina's heart skipped a beat as she felt his warm breath on her face.

"Don't dare me, milady," ICE said, a mischievous twinkle in her eye. "I would be more than happy to spend the rest of my life showering you with sweet kisses." She looked at her lady with affection, a playful smirk tugging at the corner of her lips.

Sabrina was left speechless and blushed deeply when ICE made her flirtatious comment. ICE grinned playfully and left her lady to her thoughts in the kitchen. But after a few moments in her thoughts, Sabrina quickly snapped out of it and rushed upstairs to get ready for the day. They had an important business to attend to at the DEMar Hotel, but first, they needed to drop off the twins at school.

"Twins, remember our drill around the school and its perimeter, okay?" ICE reminded the twins before they could enter the school.

"Yes, Aunty ICE." they both said in unison while grinning.

"Don't make things hard for your teachers and classmates, okay?" Sabrina added and they both saluted.

"Yes, Aunty Sabrina." they said at the same time while giggling before they dashed off inside the school. They were greeting their classmates and teachers.

As they watched the twins go inside, Sabrina's ears perked up as she noticed some murmurs in the background. It seemed like people were talking about them.

'Who is she?'

'They look good together.'

'Are they the parents of the twins?'

'Maybe since they're both good-looking.'

'But I hope ICE is single so I could be her wife.'

'Sadly she was taken because of how the way ICE hold her.'

Sabrina didn't seem to be bothered by the gossip that was going around. In fact, it seemed to be positive news to her ears. She held tightly onto ICE's hand, causing her to look at her with a confused expression.

"Yeah, I'm okay. I love this feeling of holding you closer like this," Sabrina replied with a smile full of affection and love. ICE's heart was beating like a drum at the sight of her smile.

"You're being sensitive now?" ICE guessed with no ill intention. Sabrina softly glared at her while smiling.

"Let's go or we'll be late for your meeting," Sabrina said, dropping the subject and ushering ICE towards the car.

"We won't be late since I own the hotel, and I also need you to be there for this meeting," ICE replied with a smirk, following Sabrina to the car and letting her go in first.

"You found her whereabouts last night, didn't you?" Sabrina asked as soon as ICE hopped on the driverseat and started the engine.

"Precisely. So, shall we?" ICE smiled and looked at Sabrina. Sabrina smiled back and nodded.

Sabrina reached for the car stereo and played a song, but before she could change the channel, she felt a gentle hand on hers. Looking over, she saw ICE holding her hand, silently urging her to keep the song playing. The music filled the car once again, and Sabrina couldn't help but feel a sense of connection to the lyrics and the melody.

We stop to get something to drink

My mind clouds and I can't think

Scared to death to say I love her

"Leave it be. I love the mood of it." ICE calmly said and Sabrina blushed as she let the song play in their background.

"If you say so…" Sabrina muttered as she glance over the window of the car. But she was listening to the message of the song attentively even though it was the second stanza from the song Passenger Seat by Stephen Speaks.

Then the moon peeks from the clouds

I hear my heart, it beats so loud

Try to tell her simply

"Babe, oh, I've got all that I need

Right here in the passenger seat

And I can't keep my eyes on the road

Knowing that she's inches from me…" ICE suddenly joined in with the music coming from the stereo, singing the lyrics perfectly in sync with the beat. Sabrina turned to look at her and listened intently, feeling as if the words were directed at her.

"Oh, and I know

That this love will grow…" She kept belting out the lyrics of the song, not missing a beat.

But then she paused and looked over at Sabrina as if she was singing those words just for her. She just let the music kept playing around their car ride as if she was letting the lyrics and the melody of the song sink inside of them.

And I've got all that I need (I look at her and have to smile)

Right here in the passenger seat (as we go driving for a while)

(Her hair blowing in the open window of my car)

Oh, and I can't keep my eyes on the road (and as we go, the traffic lights)

Knowing that she's inches from me (I watch them glimmer in her eyes)

(In the darkness of the evening)

"Did you hear it, Sab, my feelings there?" ICE gently asked as their car slowed down since they were at the hotel premises already.

"Oh boy, my heart…I didn't expect this…" Sabrina was caught off guard and left her speechless.

And I've got all that I need (I look at her and have to smile)

Right here in the passenger seat (as we go driving for a while)

The song ended and before she could even give an answer to ICE's question, their car door seats suddenly opened for them. ICE smiled then she get off from the car and tossed the keys to the valet before offering a hand to her lady.

"Shall we?" ICE asked gently and Sabrina nodded then they both entered the DEMar Hotel.
