20 Lunch

"Sure, I can make you a new shield, but what about all the dummies you exploded?" Echo asked, looking sadly at the dummies.

"Don't worry, I will have someone bring you some more straw later today," Sydra said, awkwardly. "Is Robert still around?" he asked, not seeing him.

"Hmm, no. He only stopped by to let you know, and also drop off the keys to the Fluttershi so I can upgrade it. By the way, you don't mind if I keep the manuscript for a bit longer, do you? I still have a few more pages I need to translate." Echo asked, closing the door to the training room behind them.

"No that's fine, I don't really need the manuscript myself, as I don't blacksmith. If you want to keep it, go ahead." Sydra said as he shrugged. "I'll be going to the tailors now, but I'll see you later. I need something else done before I go on this expedition."

"Sure, but are you going looking like that, you might give people the wrong idea?" Echo asked, noticing that Sydra was still wearing the bone armor. Although it looked cool, most people didn't wear armor in town, unless the town was under attack. Most of the time they would take it off before entering the town, and those who didn't were usually trying to show off.

"Oh, right! Thanks for reminding me." Sydra said, manipulating the bones to fade away. After they were gone, Sydra activated five percent of his lightning and ran off, disappearing from Echo's view in a few seconds.

"Adventures, they're all the same..." She said, sighing before heading back to the forge to work on the Fluttershi.

...

Back in town, Sydra deactivated the lightning before walking into the tailors. Looking around, he noticed a new section in the store that was shelving the spider backpacks. Each one was black with a small red spider on the back of it. They looked cool and were also practical so they were quickly selling out.

"Come back tomorrow if you want a spider backpack, we just sold the last one of today!" Pop-pop yelled out to the crowd that was clamoring for backpacks. As the crowd thinned out, Pop-pop saw Sydra standing in the back and rushed over to him.

"Sydra, I must admit that you have made me a lot of money by bringing me that spider's abdomen," Pop-pop said as he grabbed Sydra's arm and lead him into the back. After the influx of sales, Pop-pop had to hire another person, who was currently working the counter.

"I'm glad that it helped. I heard that you had a backpack for me as well so I came over to pick it up." Sydra said as he glanced around the backroom that was full of backpacks being made. Pop-pop had his own power that was related to being a tailor, and that was that he could control the machines even if he wasn't around them. Most of the time powers would be from birth, but normal people could also gain unique powers to themselves the more they did something. Not everyone was a freak like Sydra who could take other's powers.

"Not just a backpack, but a few other things as well. Cidre told me that you and several other people were going on an adventure in the Emerald Sea Forest that would take around a year, so I made a few things that should help you out on it. I made sleeping bags, nightwear, backpacks, and a few other items that should be of use. Also, all the sleepwear is enchanted to change size based on who is wearing it, so that should make it so that anyone can wear it." Pop-pop said excitedly, as he began pulling items out of boxes in the back and showing them to Sydra.

"Wow, this stuff is amazing, and the texture of this night-wear feels smoother than silk," Sydra said running his hand over the pajamas.

"By the way, here is your backpack. I made it a bit different than the others, and it also has a few more enchantments on it." Pop-pop said as he pulled out a white backpack with a blue spider on it out. "This backpack is enchanted to be incredibly difficult to tear, and it can also regulate the wearer's temperature, so they won't have to deal with it being too hot or too cold. Unless, of course, you are visiting places where the heat or cold temperature is in the extremes. There are a few other things it does, but I'll leave that for you to figure out." Pop-pop said, handing the backpack to Sydra.

"Thanks, Pop-pop, this stuff will be a huge help for our travels," Sydra said as he began placing all the items into his Arbor Sanctum. "By the way, do you know a place I could pick up some lumber, I need a lot of it for something?" Sydra asked, standing back up.

"Hmm, lumber? I think you could buy some from the Axe Handlers lumber mill. They often go into the Emerald Sea Forest to cut down trees. The odd thing is that the very next day, the trees they cut down will be back again. That's why no one has tried to live there all this time, you can't make any room to build a house." Pop-pop said giving Sydra the answer he was looking for.

"Thanks, I'll be going now then," Sydra said as he left the old tailor to get back to making backpacks. "Hmm, I'll go over there after I eat lunch and talk to the guys."

A few minutes later, Sydra entered the Wild Cinder Boar and looked around for the others. He was a few minutes early so he didn't see them and decided to get a table. Sitting down and taking the menu that had been handed to him, Sydra began searching for foods that wouldn't disturb his stomach.

"What can I eat that won't cause me to lose my bowels later tonight?" Sydra wondered aloud as he surveyed the foods. "Dang it, I don't know what any of these are, I've never heard of Explosive Carton Milt before, but the name makes it sound dangerous. I'll just wait until the others get here and order something they order." he decided placing the menu back down. After waiting a few minutes, Sydra saw Robert, Cidre, and Erich enter the restaurant and look around for him. Waving his hands, Sydra called them over to the table he was at.

"Wow, I've never been in this place before. It's impressive if I do say so myself." Cidre said admiring all the different types of boar heads on the walls.

"Yeah, it gives me the sense of wildness and manliness," Robert said, picking up the menu and salivating over all the foods listed.

"How has your day been so far?" Erich asked Sydra while sitting down next to him.

"Pretty interesting, I was training before I came here, and I got three new daggers today," Sydra said, pulling out the daggers and showing them off.

"Haha, those are good, if you like little kid toys," Robert said, putting down his menu, and glancing at the daggers.

"Eh, what do you know," Sydra said putting the daggers away before calling over a waiter.

"How may I help you four today?" The waiter asked as he pulled out a small notebook to record their orders in.

"I would like the Explosive Carton Milt, please," Cidre said, handing over his menu to the waiter.

"I'll take the Plume de Gray with a side of Clomso, thanks," Robert said, handing over his menu as well.

"I will take the Kings Ace burger, and a side of Pomatils, if you don't mind," Erich said also handing over his menu. Seeing the waiter turn to Sydra, he felt cold sweats appear on his back.

'This isn't good, they all said things that I don't understand. At least what Erich said sounded familiar to food I know, but that Pomatils stuff, maybe he meant potatoes? Oh whatever I'll go for it.' Sydra thought as he was having an inner crisis.

"I'll have what he is having," Sydra said, pointing towards Erich and handing off his menu. Looking over at Robert, Sydra was surprised to see he was trying not to laugh.

'Oh no, don't tell me that I chose the wrong thing again...' Sydra thought as he tried to change his order, but the waiter was already gone.

"Wow, I'm surprised someone else ordered that as well. Most of the time people don't because of the aftermath it causes." Erich said, delighted that someone else was willing to go down this dangerous, but delicious path with him.

"Haha, yeah... I sure do hate the aftermath." Sydra laughed nervously at the thought of this upcoming night 'Oh my poor tummy, and what will the maid think? I'll have to bribe her off again, but this time it will be much worse because it is my second time.' he thought in despair.
