2 Chapter One Part two: A Quick Escape

Waking up on a Friday morning is always been a great feeling for Beverly she always felt so happy not only does it mean that she doesn't have to go to school the next day but she doesn't have to deal with her family and can just hang out with her girlfriend all day long without a care in the world but of course all good things have to come to an end as Beverly woke up to her parents fighting again and Freddie crying in the bed next to hers all she could make out of the yelling is, "The only reason I'm still living here is because of the kids" the voice was easy to decipher who it was to Beverly the man she despised her father as another voice yelled back "It doesn't seem like you care about the kids that much your never home" obviously her mother but then she heard her father's voice again, " if it wasn't for Bevs 18th birthday being in august I would be long gone from here already" all Beverly could feel at that moment was the blanket falling down her shoulders and a tear falling down her face as she stood up walking toward her brother wrapping her arms around him holding him tightly to her chest. All she could remember was glass shattering mumbled arguing and the front door slamming shut and soft sobs coming from her mother. Hastily glancing at the alarm clock on the bedside table she came to the realization it was too late to go to school and that the better option was to just stay at home instead of heading to school two hours late. Kissing Freddie on the cheek she got up slowly turning the door handle slowly not ready for what was on the other side of the door. She walked down the long hallway looking at all the baby pictures and photographs that showed how perfect their family had been while she was younger. Entering the kitchen, she found her mother opening the medicine cabinet and she said, "If you're looking for something to ease your headache I recommend you take it with water and not more alcohol" pointing at the wine glass in her mother's hand. Her mother quickly dumped the remaining drink into the sink saying "yeah, you're right" turning on the faucet and collecting the water in the glass pressing it up to her lips taking a sip whispering a thank you before heading toward her room once again Beverly just stood there staring at the spot her mother once stood before grabbing a rag and starting to clean the wine glass and placing it wear it belonged before almost bolting to the bathroom. Beverly stared at herself in the mirror running her hands through her hair before thinking to herself that she really wanted to do this she opened the small cabinet under the sink taking in a deep breath she cut her long brown hair off it fell to the ground in clumps and strands her once long wavy brown hair now fell right under her chin Beverly looked into her eyes in the mirror and smiled for the first time that day and started to play with her now short hair twirling it in between her fingers before bending down to pick up the clumps of hair throwing them in the trash. As she headed toward her room again she wondered what her brother would think noticing that the door was still open she found her brother on his bed coloring a page full of different types of dinosaurs she sneaked up on him and yelled " the tickle monster her and they're ready to eat yah" as she started tickling his sides as they both exploded into a fit of laughter, snorts, and giggles until Freddie kicked his sister in the jaw causing her to let go grabbing onto her nose and hissing in pain as Freddie said " Sorry, Sorry, Sorry, I didn't mean to" and almost forgetting that he just kicked his sister in the face he said " Wait did you cut your hair if you did I like it" Beverly then said still in a little bit of pain with a little bit of blood running down her nose she said, " I accept your apology, and thank you I cut it myself a few minutes ago." She giggled but immediately hissed in pain clutching her nose.
