1 A HEARTY REUNION

"Bye mom, love ya!" said Lana, the lovely and cheerful girl as she left her house for her first day at her new high school. Lana Kingsley was a 16 year old girl who was always cheerful and optimistic. She greeted everyone with a smile that was enough to make someone's day. Although she did not have a very pleasant childhood, she somehow managed to stay optimistic and learnt to handle even panic situations calmly.

She ran out of her house and started walking towards her school. "I just hope to run into one of my old friends. Maybe one of them has taken admission in my school." Lana thought to herself. With this thought, she continued to walk. The journey to her school was a 10 minutes' walk. Lana loved to walk and enjoy the scenic morning view.

"Hey! My babe! Long time no see", a voice called Lana as she entered the school premesis. Lana did not have to turn to recognise the owner of the voice, as she was sure it was no one other than her best buddy, Jessica Stanley. They both went together in grade 6 and 7 but Jessica had to move to Europe after grade 7. Lana was overwhelmed to see her best friend and ran to her and hugged her.

"Yaaaahh! Move bish, You're choking me!", Jessica somehow choked out the words. Lana realised she was hugging a bit too tightly and slowly let go. Jessica gasped for air while Lana was giggling.

"Seriously Jess, you haven't changed a single bit. You're the same delicate, gossiping and always irritating Jess I knew years ago." Lana exclaimed.

"Urgh! Whatever! Come, I'll show you the principal's office." Jess said while brushing her uniform. Lana slowly chuckled and started walking.
