The role call instructor scanned the largely filled classroom as the others looked around searching for the student who was just called.

"Huh... Still not here". The instructor sighed.

The gentleman looked around again. Eye meeting every student who was present.

"The same with Nathaniel Blake"

Taking notes, he returned his attention to the class.

"Anyone who might know the whereabouts of these students". A hand was up.

A blond with smart glasses on stood on her feet and replied with a nod.

"And you are?"

"Anna Marie Jane", she answered.

"Where are your friends?", he asked placing the clipboard behind his back with the pen hung lazily on his right ear and a slight frown on his face.

"They're absent sir"

"I didn't ask what happened to them young lady, I asked where. So_". He awaited her response.

Great, way the get out of this one.

"Both their names have been recorded absent for the past four days. With only one call from one of the parent claiming amiss and the other still no word"

The man brought the board to his viewing as he had seen a small pen mark around the 'Blake's' name space but non on the other.

"I have been here long enough to know how kids like yourself prefer skipping school than facing reality. So I'm asking again, where are they?".

Anna had heard about this certain faculty member in the school. Mr Sean Davinski.

Covering up for both her friends was gonna be harder than she thought. From a lasting Tuesday morning till today, she had had the other role call informants convinced.

But nothing got past Sean Davinski...

"Well..", he pressed on.

Well, she could have just told him that her two best friends were both wandering in there own small worrisome world. One blaming himself thus refusing to go home or come to school, the other just sleeping through.

Yeah.. like that'll fit for a better excuse...

"Er_my friends"

"My friends are_"

Sean rose a brow at her hesitance. Her stutters made it very lucid.

"Miss Jane, do you know where you're friends are?", he questioned approaching her at a steady but menacing pace. A smirk adorned on his face, feeling above all other top detectives who cracked multiple cases in a wink.

"So you do, don't you?".

Anna swallowed hard. All eyes on the geek who currently toyed with the seam of her t-shirt as she had a gaze shyly fixed on his.

"I_i er_"

The first period bell broke her fall. Anna heaved a sigh of relief as she saw the class slowly disperse.

"Saved by the bell"

"But don't you dear think this is over Marie Jane". He backed up from her before leaving the now almost empty classroom.

With a final sigh, Anna fell into her chair with a small weight added to the former.

....

"Just call me back when you get this... okay", she hung up before slipping her phone into the side pocket of her bag pack.

Anna was dwelled to walk the halls with no affirmed company once again.

Aside from the wardens, her other mates asked more and more questions.

Ashley and the girls got more concerned as they wandered how bad food poisoning could get. Then also questioned the where how's of their italian friend.

That wasn't even the least of her problems. The more she worried about both of them, the less she listens during her classes, the less she pays attention to her environment and the more grumpy she becomes.

And it has only been four days...

Anna never realized how much they both meant to her...

Though Nathan meant so much since they met first years of high school, but Kai...

The past few months has just been filled with so much glee. She hasn't had that much excitement in ages.

Subtracting the minor fiascos and the death related leaps taken by her not so completely human best friend, the rest has just been....

Peachy?!

Anna opened the door to her locker as she began rummaging for her piece for the next period. She grabbed on to her chemistry slides, textbook, assorted manual and her trustee lab coat.

With the help of her pinkie finger, she gently pushes the locker shot then begins her walk to the chemistry lab.

"At least the fizzing of chemicals will keep me sane", she mumbled under her breathe.

Making the last turn to the lab, her pen unexpectedly falls from her hand. Sighing in mint frustration, she tries holding the other materials properly before she bends over to pick it up.

In view of her pen came a pair of white Diaz branded snickers. Followed by the smell of moist streaming with a faint hint of waterfalls.

Still took her breathe away...

After so many years...

"Need help?", the gentle sound of his voice already got her cheeks flustered as she swiftly grabbed hold of her belonging, cleared her throat slightly then looked above his head.

Which seemed like a problem because he was a lot taller than she remembered.

"Down here MJ"

Begrudgingly, she made eye contact.

"What do you want Tyler?", she finally asked having gotten her wild emotions in check.

"Not calling me Kitty anymore", he teased with a cat like grin across his face.

She tutted a response, avoiding eye contact again.

A part of her said it was the perfect time. Though there was no Kai to cheer her on, no Nathaniel for support and no Stephanie to invade. Just the two of them and a chemistry practical class she had in about five minutes flat.

Tyler had noticed an attempt from her. To talk to him, say something to him... let alone make eye contact.

Brought him back to her first day into Westernburg high...

With a couple of jocks and a few bratty snobs at his disposal that is.

"Headed for class huh?!"

"Wouldn't you like to know", she mumbled under her breathe.

He wasn't the only one having a thrilling case of De ja vu.

He saw how her cheeks became a light shade of pink. it made him wonder if he was doing that to her... Just like she used to do to him...

He didn't want this to be what they ended up to be. Two formerly best friends now forsaken rivals who walked the same halls every school day.

But he just had to mess up...

Big time.

He had awaited the chance to just talk. Apologize for being such a jerk and if possible, earn the right to be her friend again.

Maybe even more....

Letting out the breathe he knew he held since he had been starring at her, he made his correction.

""What I meant to say was, Do you need_"

"Ty!...Ty, there you are"

Brat alert with immediate vaccinity

Stephanie Courts ran over to the two teens that were 'this' close to begin name check for their future kids....

I mean, fixing things^_^...

"I've been looking everywhere for you". She curled herself around the jock this clearing the thin air they had left.

Anna wasn't sure what exactly was going on. All she did know was that she was in need of her two best friends and she needed to get to class.

"Sorry Anna, but I'm afraid he's off limits"

How dare that sonuvabitch....

"I was just leaving".

With a small nod, she picked her almost flushed self up and briskly made her way to the first period of the day...

And five more before she could be done with this horrid day.
