13 11...

"The doctor will see you now", the nurse dressed in her uniform notified the man who patiently sat while the former patient exited the doctor's office.

Knocking lightly on the door, he peeps in, making sure the doctor wasn't occupied by anyone or anything else.

"Please seat", she offered not looking from her tablet. Doctor Aria Blake sets aside her work tablet before attending to her new patient for the day.

"Good day to you too sweetheart". He greeted with a smile adorned on his face.

From anywhere on the planet, she could recognise that voice. The voice that lured her into feeling again, lured her into being intimate again... made her go crazy anytime she heard it.

"What are you doing here Travis?". She didn't want him here. Not after the hellish misunderstanding they had rolled in with her son. Nathaniel has not spoken with her ever since.

"I came to see you love". He took the seat that she offered.

Travis Salazar shot her a grin. He was well aware of the tensive vibe between them. She had asked him to give her some space while she tried to set things right with her son.

Which he did.....

It had been a weekend...

He knew it wasn't enough but he just wanted to be close with his Aria again.

Romeo couldn't stay away....

"Let me talk to him. Maybe I_"

"No, it'll only make matters worse Travis. I gave him my promise. I told him I wouldn't go back to sleeping around_"

"Which you weren't. I offered to take you home. Admitted we may have had a few sessions to ourselves, but surely didn't end up in bed.... well, not literally".

Aria rose a brow at his statement. Her son had seen him walk out of her bathroom, covered with just his briefs and a towel. She on the other hand had her sleeping pants on. But that wasn't enough to prove that they didn't have sex.

"I've lost him once Travis. A few years back when I finally told him about his father. Nathan was devastated, he won't talk to me, he stayed away from the house, he even stopped eating. I was so worried. There was so much he wanted to know. Why his father never stayed, did his father ever care?, why did it make me start sleeping with every man I set my eyes on, why.... it felt like I didn't love him enough. it tore him apart, seeing me come home from work drunk and out of control. Stumbling in with different men every waking night. It was too much... for both of us. So, I made a promise, which I failed to keep as his mother". Her fingers tracing circles on the picture frame of her beloved jewel.

"And we can still make it right love. You told me that your boy needed a father figure in his life. That's were I come in. Yes, it was very bad timing and shreds my first impression, but to hell with that. I can make it right. We both can. He just needs more time". Travis stretched his hand across the table that separated them. Aria took said hand in hers before he guided her away from the table and closer to himself.

"Trust me... okay", he simply said.

Aria sighed at this. Travis has found his way into her heart all over again.

She replied with a soft hmm.

Anna replaced the already streaming cloth with a much more cold and soaked one.

"is this doing any good?", she asked while massaging her friend's body with the clothe.

Kai replied with a low moan as she was still feeling slight pains. Anna hadn't told her how she got here, although she may have a hunch.

"You haven't still told me what's going on Kai, what happened back there?", she asked again.

Watching her friend enter some kind of make shift seizure scared the literal shit outta her.

She was lucky she could get her home, her's was a bit under the 'not an option' category.

The feeling of the wet cloth on her bare chest made it harder to resist.

Waking up, the pain still remained. Biting away any resistance she could muddle up.

The hot feeling of the towel startled her. Anna threw the soaked cloth to the other side of the bed.

The third towel since she woke up ten minutes ago...

Making a quick trip to her private bathroom, she got her hands cooled with rushing water then dried it with another towel.

Walking back into her room, she was met with her best friend fidgeting on the bed. Her eyes back to it's ordeal color but without her magic flying around.

"Oh, not again".

Anna Marie rushed to her side. Reaching out to touch her, but stopped.. already feeling the heat that emitted from her.

"Kai", she gently called.

Her breathing became gentle, unlike before she had better control over this state.

"Kai, can you hear me... Kai", Anna was pulled to tugging her on the arm but still kept it in mind that her skin was about a zillion degrees

The sudden creak of the door diverted her attention. Her other worried friend walked in with an understated wary in his jades.

Anna had told him that she would take care of her while he mixed up a couple of lies to cover up for both of them.

From the looks of things though, the situation didn't look completely taken care of.

"How is she?"

Anna crawled down from her bed as she joined her friend by the door

"Im not sure. I haven't gotten any response from her since she woke up", Anna replied looking behind her to get a quick glimpse of her friend, who laid partially conscious.

"Maybe her grandpa knows what going on. Have you tried calling him?"

Yeah Anna, have you called her grandfather?!

Hush inner voice..

She silenced. The thought did cross her mind, but how she was going to explain to Kai's grandad why his granddaughter slumped in school and has a way off topic eye color begged the question.

"I didn't know how to tell him Nathan", she confessed.

Nathaniel sighed. He walked over to her bed as he examined her. The glow making her more beautiful than ever. Her eyes having it's different color didn't change the way he saw her. A beaut that needed no new addition.

"I got her bag downstairs". Nathaniel watched as her eyes reverted back to it's former greys.

"Please be okay Kai", he begged. Seeing her like his gave him goosebumps all over.

You should have seen him the second Anna had told him that Kai had slumped.

"Anna?", a whisper escaped her lips as she moved a bit from the spot.

"Yes.. I'm here Kai", Anna rushed to her side as she climbed onto the bed beside her.

"I'm here. Nathaniel is here too", she added gradually reaching to get a hold of her hand.

Feeling no heat emitting, she pressed further. Having a solid grip on her friend's hand.

"You got me worried girl. how are you now?".

Kai replied with a shrug. The comforts from Anna's lavender scented sheets made her mind find it's sooth.

"I'll go get more towels... you're still a bit warm", Anna had reached to touch her forehead as the warmth overtook it.

Nathaniel waited for the door to make it's soft shutting noise before he began.

"What happened back there?", he asked first

"When Anna Marie told me that you had slumped for some reason I thought I was gonna have a panic attack"

"How long as this been goi_". She interrupted by getting a grip on his hand, helping herself up then pulling him closer to herself.

The stare wasn't a valid answer, but it was livid way to make him stop talking. Her pulling him even closer so that a few inches remained between them.

Kai brought his hand to her face as she used it to caress her cheek. Taking in his slightly cooler hands, she relaxed into it.

With that, Nathan used his thumb to rub on her cheeks. Not missing the tiny dotted flushed reds that showed at his instant caress.

"I'm sorry", she whispered with her eyes closed.

Nathaniel wanted nothing more than to cover the remaining inches they had between them then shower with enough hugs and kisses to make her feel even better.

And that, he did ..

"Come here". He gently pulled her closer to himself. His arm wrapped around her waist with the other holding her head to his shoulder, marvelling at her black locks. While she held on firmly to her unbuttoned shirt, leaning further into him.

In an instant, the warmth subsided. Her body temperature regulated and relaxed.

"I still wanna know what happened Ka_"

Anna bursts in through the doors, with her cell phone in hand.

"you guys have got to see this".

Turns the screen to both their faces as Nathaniel collects the phone from her.

Kai couldnt make a quick meaning to what it was.

"Photo taken about twenty minutes ago from the news channel. They posted it on their blog". Anna explained further.

The topic read, 'Flaming conspiracies of doom'

Scanning through the highlights, she re examined the picture

It looked like it was taken in a panic judging from its blur.

The shadow came to sight. It reminded Kai about the beach. A creature who was also present after the disappearance of the sea monster. Then the actual threat came to view...

Like a flaming spirit that caused havoc at its every breathe.

"I need to go"....
