Don't follow me

It's been a week since Lunox gave us her order assignment. I've been inviting students in the garden ever since, asking them to show me their crests saying they're a citizen here in the Land of Dawn. About Gusion? I don't know actually care about him, haven't heard of him since, I've been avoiding him rather. He's so full of himself, I'm pretty sure if I try hard enough I can win first place and say it to his face.

"Lesley~, I'm hungry~ Let's go back to the cafeteria"

"You just don't want to see Hayabusa chasing Hanabi here Kagu. But sure, let's go"

She pouted when I said that. Kagura has a secret crush on her friend Hayabusa but Hanabi, Hayabusa's childhood rival came back so she doesn't have much of a chance on him.

"They're made for each other, besides Haya only sees me as a friend"

She smiled bitterly. I patted her head and we headed down to the cafeteria. On our way there Kagura asked me non-stop.

"So how're things going for you and Gusion?"

"There's only things going for me, but I don't know and I don't care about what's going for him"

I said as a matter of fact.

"Aren't you even affected of his charms? Most of the students here especially in the mage department likes him."

"And what does that have to do with me? He's good-looking but all I care about right now is beating him to first place"

"You sure are competitive Les haha"

"I have too, Kagu."

We ordered our favourites as usual and took our food out of the caf. Because I think I heard girls screaming their hearts out and I know who causes that. Gusion. And no, I don't want to see him. He's so pestering and so cocky. Since our classes are done, I said goodbye to Kagura.

"I need to go now. I have to watch over Harley. See you tomorrow Kagura"

I headed to Harley's department and looked for a good spot watch over him without being noticed. I was busy looking at Harley in his class when a black hole opened in front of them. I ran as fast as I could to protect Harley, I readied my rifle and just as I reached their classroom, I saw Harley getting taken away and I fired at the hole. But it never hit, because it closed.

"Harley..."

I was stunned that my mind couldn't even process what just happened. What have I done? I walked over to the spot and saw a bullet engraved with a circuit. Looking at the students, I saw Lunox nodding that I should fire it to open what's inside. And so I did. I loaded it inside my rifle and fired it against the board. Before it pierces through, it stop midair and opened a letter.

I gripped my rifle while reading it.

"If you want the child of the Vance, you will meet us at midnight using also this bullet. Only the worthy one can pass through without being shredded to pieces. Come or the child will die. Come, exiled one"

It read. Then the bullet dropped and was surrounded by a purple light, another circuit. I picked it up and placed it inside my pocket. I turned around and faced Lunox and the other students.

"You're not going Lesley, it's the Rift. You'll die"

"I vowed to protect Harley, and if I die doing so, I wouldn't mind. Please don't try to stop me"

"I'll tell Gusion to come with you"

"No. Don't follow me. I'll do it alone"

I said and turned my back before heading home. I loaded my rifle with father's bullets and got ready for midnight.

Wait for me Harley. Sis is coming for you.
