1 Prologue

"But Grandmother! What Big Eyes You Have!"

A Little Girl Claps Her Hands With Glee, As Her Mother Reads Out The Story Of The Little Red Riding Hood To Her. It Is Her Favourite Bedtime Story. Her Mother Reads That To Her Every Night. And It Always Helps Her To Sleep.

Her Mother Gently Closes The Book As She Kneels Down To Peck Her Daughter On The Forehead. "Yes Faith." She Mumbles With A Gentle Smile. "Sleep Now, Otherwise The Big Bad Wolfy Will Come Get You!" She Laughs.

The Little Girl Quickly Hides Her Face Under The Covers As She Giggles. "Okay Mommy." She Whimpers As She Pretends To Sleep.

As Soon As She Hears The Door Shut, She Quickly Throws Off Her Covers And Runs Towards The Window. As She Looks Up At The Night Sky, She Begins To Count The Stars. Something She Loved To Do Every Single Night.

But Today Was Different. Her Star Gazing Is Interrupted By The Hoot Of An Owl. As She Turns To Look At It, The Owl Does The Same.

For What Seems Like An Eternity, Both Stare Into Each Other's Eyes. The Yellow Irises Of The Barn Owl Draw Her In, Throwing Her In A Trance. And Suddenly, The Owl Is Gone. Like It Never Even Existed.

Spooked By The Unexpected Turn Of Events, The Girl Rushes Towards Her Bed And Hides. 'Owls Are Scary.' She Mumbles To Herself, As The Infinite Void Of Dreams Beckons Towards Her.

But That Particular Night, She Has A Horrible Dream.

She Dreams That She Is In A Forest. Its Dusk And She Is Surrounded By Owls. As She Runs And Runs, She Looks Behind Only To See The Silhouette Of A Grisly Black Wolf Chasing Her.

She Stumbles Upon A Clearing, And As She Looks Up, She Finds Her Parents. Mauled To Death.

She Tries To Scream, But To No Avail. Her Voice Doesn't Obey Her Mind, And No Sound, Not Even The Slightest Whisper Can Be Heard As The Wolf Devours Her.

And Then She Wakes Up With A Jolt. Sweating And Paranoid. She Begins To Cry. As Her Parents Rush In To Comfort Her, They Tell Her That Its Only A Nightmare. And Nightmares Don't Come True.

Needless To Say, The Dream Never Escapes The Confines Of Her Subconscious Mind. From That Day Onwards, She Never Reads The Little Red Riding Hood Ever Again.

Seven Years Later As The Girl Emerges From The Ruined Wreckage Of Her Car, She Sees Her Parents On The Road. Dead. And She Finally Realises, That The Nightmare She Had Seven Years Ago, Was A Vision Of Things To Come.

The Big Bad Wolf Never Stopped Chasing Her.
