Actually, the young Damone had no intention to get into a legal relationship with Carol. He had yet to get permission from his grandfather, Lector, to do the same.

Lector kept a tight leash on his life. However, a little birdie told Sebastian that the Ateliers were greedy and shallow. They would eagerly jump at the prospect of becoming in-laws to a conglomerate CEO.

Sebastian intended to sleep with Carol and humiliate Victor by sending her nudes to him. He was bent on seeking revenge for what happened during the Damone reunion. Besides, even if he ended up engaged to Carol, it was not really a terrible deal. He'd been lusting after her for years and wanted to get her into bed by hook or crook.

Martha, Ronald, and Josh almost jumped in celebration.
