Storage Room

"Ms Seoyeon, can you print this in four copies? We need it for a meeting by 3 pm."

"Yes, Chief Kim."

"Ms Seoyeon, please deliver this to the Design Team."

"Yes, Ms Park."

As an intern in RJ Architects' Department of Administration and General Affairs, Bae Seoyeon was the youngest in the team. She was in charge of the smallest thing in the company, playing the role of a tiny gearwheel in a big machine. From printing meeting agendas to managing building utility, they were all small tasks but she was still working like that day by day.

Bae Seoyeon was always smiley and friendly as her colleagues liked to work with her, especially one of her colleague Han Sooji. They weren't only colleagues. After work, they still had another identity – the ARMY.

A few years ago, when people mentioned the word 'army', what came into their mind was military and national service. However, after a huge global takeover of Korean pop music, ARMY had been given a new definition thanks to the boy band BTS.

As a fan of BTS, also known as the ARMY, Bae Seoyeon and Han Sooji were lucky enough to get a ticket for the upcoming concert which sold out 3 minutes after released.

"I have been looking at 3 computers at home, and finally! Finally, I get their tickets!" Han Sooji groaned to her other colleagues at lunch.

"Hahahaha, Ms Sooji, you are not high schooler anymore, good on you that you still have the energy to compete with them," a man spoke while taking in a spoonful of his rice.

"Well, BTS really made a big hit, but aren't you exaggerating too much?" Another colleague asked.

"No, no, Mr Joowon, you wouldn't understand the heart of an older-sister-fan. I am spending on my babies. They need to eat well too."

"Yes, they need to eat well and sleep well," Bae Seoyeon agreed, "As an ARMY, I am proud that I stayed up last night for a ticket. And they sold out in 3 minutes. I am so proud of my boys."

"Good job, Seoyeon!" Han Sooji showed her phone to the latter, "I have gotten tickets in this area, where are you seating?"

"Oh, unnie, you are so lucky! I have a seat at the back. But can I still queue with you outside the stadium?"

"Of course you can."

"Alright guys, we need to get back to work now," the man shook his head and carried the plates and leftover to the cleaning area of the canteen.

"Unnie, I will see you this Saturday morning then," Bae Seoyeon walked with Han Sooji together back to their office.

"Ms Seoyeon, can you take these boxes to the storage room?"

Bae Seoyeon looked at the stacked boxes that were almost taller than her. She was slightly petrified with the number of boxes she needed to handle.

"All of them?" She asked to confirm.

Unfortunately, Chief Kim nodded to her and passed her a folder, "Yes, all of them. They need to be correctly archived as well. You can take your time with them."

"Yes, Chief Kim."

Bae Seoyeon could only accept her fate and started moving the boxes.

Luckily, the storage room wasn't too far away. She moved the boxes into the storage room and checked on the files. They were architecture drawings for a recent project and they all looked the same to her.

The only way that she could check them was to read the numbers at the right bottom corner one-by-one. The numbers were tiny and her eyes ached by reading them.

"A121… A122… A123…," Bae Seoyeon talked to herself and ticked off the checklist. After an hour of working, she looked at the time. It was almost 6 pm, "Seems like I have to continue these tomorrow."

After tidying the scattered drawings, she noticed there was something different about the storage room.

The storage room was pretty huge. It didn't only work as a document archive room, but also kept several materials from the suppliers.

A door?

She definitely remembered there wasn't a door in that corner.

The door didn't have anything special to it. Painted in white, Bae Seoyeon thought that door was connected to another room.

Out of curiosity, she opened the door. She entered the room and switched on the light.

The room didn't have anything special either. It was empty.

At the corner of her eyes, she could feel a black silhouette passed through.

"Who is that?" She asked and turned around, but only her echo replied to her.

She was pretty sure that she was alone in the room, as well as the storage room. No one would come here at this time.

Feeling creepy, she quickly switched off the light and left the room.

Heading back in the storage room, Bae Seoyeon went back to where she was working with the boxes as she just wanted to take the checklist and left the office now. However, the file that Chief Kim gave her was nowhere to find.

"Anyone there? Stop your prank!" She shouted to the air but the room remained silent.

The eerie feeling grew bigger in her chest as she rushed out of the storage room. As she turned her way in the hallway, the place where previously sat a mountain of boxes was now empty.

She took the route that led to her department. As she entered the office, the decoration was totally different from what she remembered. She tried to remember if her memories had gotten wrong but the difference was easily spotted.

The office she used to work in was painted in grey and white, but the office in front of her was painted in light blue.

She walked to the table that was supposed to be her in her memory, but the piles of files on the table weren't what she used to work with.

The office was empty as it was after working hours.

"Assistant Bae," a sound called while tapping on her shoulder. She turned around and saw Han Sooji.

Slightly relief, Bae Seoyeon hold Han Sooji's hand.

Han Sooji wanted to say something but was cut off by Bae Seoyeon, "Unnie, what happened to the office?"

Han Sooji was slightly taken by her form of address, but she still answered her politely, "Assistant Bae, what do you mean? There isn't anything happened to the office."

"But… but… where is my work desk?" Bae Seoyeon then realised the lady wasn't calling her by her name. So, who was Assistant Bae?

"Assistant Bae, are you alright?" Han Sooji found the weirdness in the young lady as well, "Don't you remembered? You worked in the Creative Department."

Bae Seoyeon stared at her like she was telling a joke.

However, the worriedness in Han Sooji's eyes were telling her that Han Sooji was being serious.

"Assistant Bae, would you like me to contact Director Kim?"

Who was Director Kim?

Bae Seoyeon shook his head. Her mind was in chaos. She didn't know who was playing pranks on her. Was it Chief Kim who gave her the archive tasks? Was it Han Sooji who looked a bit strange than usual? Or Director Kim who she didn't even know?

She didn't know what to do now.

The phone on the table rang and Han Sooji picked it up.

"Hello, HR Department… Yes... Ah? Yes… Sure… Would you like me to pass it to her?" Han Sooji passed the phone to Bae Seoyeon while the latter was confused. Han Sooji whispered, "It's Director Kim."

Feeling odd, Bae Seoyeon took the phone, "Hello, Di-director Kim?"

"Baby?" the guy on the other line chuckled. His voice was familiar for Bae Seoyeon as she definitely heard it somewhere before but she couldn't remember. While she was still guessing the owner of the voice, he spoke, "Director Kim wants you now. Where are you, baby? I have been looking for you."

He called her 'baby'? She was sure that she hadn't had a boyfriend but why was this guy calling her 'baby'?

"I…" She looked at Han Sooji, looking for help, but the latter just stared back at her, "I... I will see you… in a bit…?"

He giggled upon Bae Seoyeon's answer, "Sure, I am in my office. Come here quickly. Director Kim is hungry now."

Bae Seoyeon hung up and tried to think which Director Kim he was in RJ Architects. She still didn't know who made up such a prank on her that they could get an office director to play along with them.

Giving up her guess, she turned to Han Sooji, "Unnie, do you know where is Director Kim's office?"

Han Sooji looked at her unbelievably but still pointed the way for her.

There must be something wrong with Assistant Bae.

Bae Seoyeon read the tag that was nicely carved beside the door, 'Kim Seokjin / Creative Director'. An odd feeling hit her.

Kim Seokjin? She had no idea that there was someone with this name in the company.

After knocking on the door and turned the knob, she looked at the man in front of her and absolutely shocked.

"J-Jin?"
