2 Ch2 :the mysterious statue

Aric felt his breath freeze and lapsed into unconsciousness from the lack of blood circulation to his brain.

His blood was flowing through the wound in his chest like buckets and his body was getting colder.

A scene unprecedented appeared after the assassins left and Aric lost his consciousness.

his body was growing pale at an alarming rate, his skin started cracking and his limbs appeared to thin.

His vitality was escaping out of his body at an unusual rate, and what should've been a process that took several days, was now happening in but a couple of breaths, and all that vitality was all going into the statue behind him.

The black statue that appeared quite ordinary at first, was now absorbing Aric's life force like a sponge.

It started glowing in a shade of red and kept getting brighter the more life force it absorbed, the energy contained within appeared greater than anything Aric had ever came across, it appeared like something terrifying was locked within, and the statue was using Aric's life force to unleash the seal that locked it in.

And as the energy kept growing stronger and stronger, cracks started spreading over the statue's surface, and the statue kept holding back more and more, all until the balance was tipped and whatever seal once stood, could no longer hold back and fell apart.

_ BOOOOOOOM

A terrifying explosion resounded within the forests and the impact shook the woods back and forth with a devastating power.

The city of Leaflow was thrown into chaos, shaking like a tall bamboo in the midst of a terrifying storm.

Stalls fell apart and buildings swayed back and forth, the older and fragile ones were even destroyed .

Such an impact didn't pass unnoticed by the powerhouses guarding the city, and through the streets of Leaflow city, hundreds of flashing figures zoomed in astronomical speed.

The strongest amongst these masters appeared to be a young blond woman , dressed in a golden tailored robe, and she was one of three that were flying through the city's skies.

She made it there before the others, expecting to find a pair of terrifying beasts fighting it out, or some demonic expert clashing with the city scouts but she found none of that.

In the middle of the woods she found the source of the explosion, there stood a hundred meters wide and deep crevice, burned and smoke rising from it.

She Approached the crevice and she discovered a teenage boy lying naked in the center of it, his whole body charred black and he appeared in a miserable state.

The woman jumped down and approached the boy, she laid her Arm over his heart and checked his condition, and to her surprise the boy wasn't in a bad state at all.

His heart was beating just fine, and his blood circulated through his veins unperturbed, in fact his body was in too perfect a condition.

It was apparent this boy was a mortal, and such a perfect state was nearly impossible to achieve without years of accomplishment in some mystic art or through the use of some divine medicine, it was the purity of the origin, a state only a newborn experience for a couple of weeks of their lives.

The woman looked around her at the destruction that had befallen this place and then at the boy lying unperturbed at all of the mess around him, and a rare smile came across her face.

"Interesting". Just as those words left her mouth, the other pair of experts that were flying behind the blonde woman had finally made it.

The older of the two, a grey haired, refined old man , with ocean blue eyes, approached the women and asked, " what was all the commotion , headmaster Laince ?"

The Oldman asked in a respectful tone, not daring to utter the wrong words , as he watched this maniac of a powerhouse pick this naked boy lying in the center of the crevice, then turn to him and respond with a bright smile.

" General, it seems your man have been slacking off lately, a tier 5 calamity has just achieved a breakthrough in the outskirts of your city and then made its way to the woods, truly insane "

Hearing these words, the city guardian , Alex Malenkov , almost outright sneered, how could a tier 5 calamity make it this far into the outskirts of darkwoods unnoticed, and even if it did, it would never attempt a breakthrough this close to a human settlement cause that would be asking for extra trouble in the already extremely hard process that is advancement.

But even if Alex had such thoughts, he would never dare voice them in front of this woman, he knew what kind of background she held, and even just her status as the headmaster of the ancestral school was enough to give her the right to crush him outright and no one would find fault with that.

Thus the captain couldn't help but scratch the back of his head and respond sheaplechly " it seems I've been too loose with those bastards lately, I'll issue a search order for this beast and put the best of my men into it , I'll make sure to bring down this beast in the closest of times"

"That's really pleasant to hear, general" the woman responded without a care in the world and started making her way back to the city with the boy in her arms.

Seeing this shared skin boy in the women's arms, the general couldn't help but say " if I may ask, who might that Boy be esteemed headmaster ?"

The blond woman heard his words, and with the same indifferent smile she turned to him and answered with a hint of coldness in her voice

" You may not! "

An aura escaped along the women's words and for just a second, the general felt like he was dropped into a purgatory of death and demise.

He heredly bowed and uttered in a stiff voice " then please pardon my defy of your privacy, headmaster"

The woman ignored his words and walked past him and the other expert and made her way to the city unheredly, leaving the cold words as a warning for both men to keep their mouths shut of what they just saw.

" The daughter of the Liance house is just as fierce as the rumors speak " the other expert spoke to the general in a casual tone, as an expert himself ,he did feel that aura in the split second it appeared, and he was quite clear of how terrifying it was.

Hearing his companion's words, the general spoke in a stiff voice " patriarch num I can assure she ain't" he turned around and looked him straight in the eyes and spoke in a cold and serious voice " she is much worse than those rumors depict "

Hearing the warning of his old friend, the patriarch couldn't help but chuckle a bit, he then turned around and made his way back to the city.

As for the general, he remained on his own standing in the middle of the crevice and looking helplessly at the sky as rain started to slowly fall over the lands.

" What kind of storm is brewing in my city this time " leaving these helpless words behind, the general turned around and left for the military camp, heading to put forth a scouting order on the surrounding lands, looking for something to fake in the report he'll have send to the lord in the capital soon.
