The capital Rebion

It took two days to reach Rebion the capital of the Divine Lord's Empire. During those two day, Ren taught Jason his way of the sword. Ren's swordplay was a hodgepodge of various swordsmanships he got from the system, so it was difficult to teach Jason anything specific.

Ren had no clue whatsoever on how to teach anyone, he wanted to buy a skill from the system in regards to teaching, but remembered that his current situation didn't allow him to be able to buy anything from the system at the moment.

So Ren decided to simply teach Jason via sparring. Same as the test, Ren allowed Jason to attack him from all directions, with him not moving from his spot, but this time Ren was allowed to counter. At the beginning Ren only needed to use one finger to block Jason's attacks, but a day before they reached Rebion Jason was able to force Ren to use three fingers to block his attack.

Also at the beginning Ren would only flicked his finger once at Jason before he faints, but now he was able to not faint even after receiving a dozen of those flicks.

Ren estimated Jason's strength and speed to be equivalent to someone in the Spirit Building realm. For someone who just recently picked up a sword, Jason's improvement was.... Quite frankly it was horrifying, but Ren had the system, so no matter how hard Jason tried, no matter how much of a genius he was, he would never be able to match up to Ren.

Still Jason's swordplay was simple, it was not elegant, nor did it look domineering, it was just simple. Yet that simplicity was what frightened Ren, he knew that those simple sword strikes of Jason's were going to be incredibly lethal later on.

Michael and Lin would sometimes watch Ren beat the crap out of Jason, and learn some basics of swordsmanship from the knights. Brian would sometimes offer pointers to Michael and Lin, he even thought Lin about different kinds of poisons which seem to greatly interest Lin.

Once Ren was done training Jason, he would talk to Brian about the state of Divine Lord's Empire, and about the mysterious power that the people use that was different from cultivation techniques.

The Divine Lord's Empire like Ren thought was controlled by the church or the so called Divine Lord's Religion. The Nobles here were people who could use the so called Blessing. It turns out the mysterious power was mana, and the nobles were mages, witches, and sorcerers. Brian couldn't explain the difference between the three to Ren, because he was a simple commoner and only knew bits and pieces.

The reason why people were a bit more desperate for money in the Divine Lord's Empire, was because of a certain scroll. There were scrolls one can buy from nobles or fallen nobles which was cheaper, that could give them the ability to circulate mana. Once a person was able to circulate mana like ones own blood, that person is then appointed by the clergy as a new noble with the rank of Baron. If a minor was able to circulate mana he or she is sent to school to learn the ways of mages.

Those who graduate with highest honors are instantly given the title of Viscount.

Ren suddenly thought of Lin, if his family was one of those so called fallen nobles, that would mean he has the so called scroll that explains how to circulate mana. When Ren thought of Lin's previous actions he felt that Lin had no idea about the scroll. Still it's not like Ren needed the scroll since he could already circulate mana since the beginning.

When the group reached Rebion the three refugees were astonished by the site. Unlike the Archeon Empire, who had a more eastern feel because of the wooden houses and such, with only some semblance of western influence.

The Divine Lord's Empire on the other hand look like a castle town from medieval Europe. A town surrounded by tall walls of stone. The stone houses were surrounding the castle which was in the middle of the whole town and was elevated because of a small hill. The town was even surrounded by a moat which tickled Ren's gamer mind.

Ren even looked at the tall tower beside the castle, and started to think of ways on how to climb it, like a certain assassin in one of his games.

After the knight leader was finished registering the four refugees, he went back to the barracks to report his two subordinates of insubordination.

Jason on the other hand wanted Brian to guide the four of them to the adventurers guild. That's right when Ren was asking Brian about things inside the capital, Brian briefly explained some things about the adventurers guild. Ren who was familiar with numerous RPG's could already kinda guess what the guild would be like. Jason on the other hand was thrilled to hear the word adventure so he was keenly interested.

The other two were also fairly interested. Brian on the other hand didn't want to do anything with the adventurers guild since they were the competition of mercenaries. Ren asked Brian what the difference between a mercenary and an adventurer was.

Brian simply stated the difference is the amount paid. Adventurers receive quest that are approved by the guild and are given a certain amount of money depending on their rank and the rank of the quest given.

Mercenaries on the other hand set a certain price for their work, they can ask more from the client if they wish to. Still majority of the people like the adventurers more, since the guild would ask for fair prices, while mercenaries sometimes tricks them to give more of what was agreed upon.

Ren then asked why Brian didn't just become an adventurer, since they have a better reputation and seem to be paid well enough. Brian scratched the back of his head and answered a bit embarrassed.

"Actually I was once an adventurer, but I couldn't get pass C rank, so the pay was cruddy. You see to get a higher Rank one must do a solo mission the guild specified for a rankin up test. Being a team leader type of guy, I didn't do well on those individual test, so I was stuck at C rank. Still I needed the money. Not to sound like I'm bragging, but I used my charisma to make a mercenary group which you already saw."

While Ren and Brian were talking the group already arrived at the adventurers guild.
