A Nameless Group

["Who might you people be?"]

Winter asked the people trying to free them.

["We are here to free you."]

One of them spoke hastily.

["That, I heard."]

Winter said nonchalantly.

By now, The chains tying Winter were now freed.

*clank*

["I am Robin, and this is Peter."]

The shorter one said first.

["How am I supposed to believe you?"]

Asked Winter, while directly looking them in the Eye.

["I suppose this question was coming to us."]

Robin said.

["One of our men saw you at the tavern. They were following you since then and as I said earlier, we're here to free you."]

[These people...something's amiss. But after they barged their way in like that I have no choice but to follow.]

Winter starts pondering.

["Alright let's go then."]

Winter starts following the two of them.

Later they start going inside a tunnel.

["This tunnel...this was dug at least 10 years ago."]

Winter said.

["Quite the sharp Eye you got there mister. Are you perhaps a tunnel worker?"]

Said Robin.

["A tunnel worker...haha! I suppose I am a tunnel worker."]

Winter tries to crack a joke.

["So you do work in this field. Not everyone can tell such a minute detail by looking at a cave wall just once."]

Robin answers seriously.

[These people or elves...No matter how I think they can't be with the knights, still the way they got me out without anyone spotting us means they are connected to knights in some way. They are informed of the inner workings of the knights. Though knights have a lower rank than Elvian knights in this empire. Still, to think these group of people have their roots so deep. I wanted to meet the higher-ups of this kingdom. I guess my plan has altered a bit. I am a bit short on time. I hope it will not be too late befor-]

Winter was thinking when suddenly sirens rang.

*Waahhaaahaa*

*Waahhaaahaa*

["So loud. Ugh!"]

Peter said.

["Well magical sirens are supposed to be loud."]

Robin said, hitting lightly on Peter's head.

["*ahem* Jokes aside, I think they are aware of my escape."]

Winter said.

[I want to see where these people will take me. I can't get caught yet. Not that they will be able to catch us if I put my mind to it.]

["We are just about to exit. The rest of the gang are just out there let's go."]

Robin said as we increased our speed.

[How is this guy keeping up with our speed? We are considered the fastest in our group.]

The three of them exits the tunnel.

["Just a bit further."]

Robin said as we walked further.

[That's strange Rachel said she and Michael will be right here.]

Suddenly beams of light were pointed at the three of them.

["Caught ya rats!"]

Knights cover them from each direction.

["AN AMBUSH!"]

Robin screams at the top of his lungs.

["This was our only option."]

A voice came from behind the knight captain.

["RACHEL!"]

Both Peter and Robin scream at once.

["Why are you there and where's Michael?"]

Robin asked as he started to take an aggressive stance.

["He...he's dead."]

Rachel said with a shaking voice.

["Dead....that can't be..."]

Robin says with a shaky voice.

Peter falls on his knees.

["Don...don't you understand? It's impossible to oppose the Empire! We had no choice but to give in. Give up! if we do so then they said they will at least leave our relatives live."]

Rachel said with tears in her eyes.

["Bu...but the priestess said we can win. We need to have hope. Don't you see, this person matches the description the priestess gave us."]

Robin said as he points to winter.

["What happened to the suffering we went through. Are you saying it was to no avail? Are you saying the struggles we went through were in vain? We were nothing more than people of slums, we were destined to live and die in the slums. We were treated as we don't belong in this world. The way we had to scavenge for food from the garbage. The way the nobles abandoned us when they said they will watch over slums. They even used us to conduct live experiments. You know how many people died...after all that if it were not for the priestess...if it were not for priestess.....if it not for....*whimper*"]

Robin started crying as he spoke.

[I see...another one...Do I even deserve to say sorry?]

Winter looks at them with pity.

["Now-now don't go slandering the Empire."]

An Elf came out.

["I thought that musclehead couldn't possibly devise a plan as elaborate as this"]

Winter said as he looked at the elf.

A magic bullet passed Winter at hair's breadth.

["INSOLENCE! How dare you look at the commander of the Elvian knight-Sir Gustaf, with your rebellious eyes."]

A knight shouts at Winter.

["Haha! Do you seriously expect these peasants to understand etiquette? But, I suppose these low lives need to learn some manners."]

The Elf commander draws his sword. And points towards Rachel.

["Wait...Wait this is not what we promise-"]

The commander thrusts his sword at Rachel's heart.

Then the commander proceeds to point the sword at Robin.

["How can you kill? Shouldn't we at least go to the courtroom!?"]

Robin says to the commander.

["You even captured priestess when all she wanted was to save some low lives like us. Our group has no name we might as well be nameless. But you from the Empire called us Rebels. I have no problem with that. You can kill us but at least let this gentleman go."]

Robin points towards Winter.

["Mister, our meeting was short but miss Irene told us that there will come a day when someone wearing insignia of a man pointing his sword at the sun will arrive, which will revolutionise the world. I don't know if you are that person but miss Irene said that she met a person who bore the same insignia, who wanted a revolution and had the strength to carry out the task. we were a clumsy group. Ha! Commander, we will give our lives without resistance but as I said, this man here has nothing to do with our group. let him go."]

Robin secretly passes a piece of paper to Winter.

It was an old piece of paper. It was maintained using magic. This was something Winter saw through at one glance.

He proceeded to view the paper.

[I..Irene..is that really Irene...the traces of magic left on the paper matches perfectly and this drawing.]

The paper had a drawing of dandelions.

[I see...now I know what was amiss...it was a recent event still to think I even forgot it for a moment.]

...

{"Wow! You really are very strong mister."}

{"Did you really think I would be weak?"}

{"I mean it doesn't look like you'd be that strong."}

{"I suppose that is the case, but someone very strong can tell easily if I am strong or not."}

{"Mister I can only ask for one more wish right?"}

{"Yes, I fulfilled your first two wishes"}

{"Will you come back if you fulfilled your last promise?"}

{"I can't guarantee that. By the time I come here again you probably won't be here."}

{"That's not fair. Then my last wish is that we will make a promise."}

{"A promise?"}

{"Yes that I will try to be here for as long as I can and you will try to come back as soon as you can."}

{"Haha! What kind of promise is that?"}

{"Are you going to go back on your word of giving me three wishes?"}

{"*sigh* Fine then, so be it I promise to come back as soon as I can"}

{"Then I promise to try to stay here for as long as I can."}

{"Can you draw those dandelions? On this piece of paper."}

{"I see, I will draw them as proof of our promise."}

{"You know it right?"}

{"What?"}

{"That dandelions are proof of determination and perseverance."}

{"Hmmmm..."}

{"Hey! Are you listening Mister?"}

...

[That little Elf girl...Irene.]

Winter smiled a little as he saw the drawing.

["So this Irene, where is she?"]

Winter asked.

["Miss Irene...is the priestess"]

Robin said.

["That old Woman is probably dead by now. I mean putting someone like that on torture is basically killing them Haha!"]

The Elf commander Gustaf laughed as he licked his blade.

["You...."]

Robin was speaking as the air suddenly picked up.

*whoosh*

The clouds started to grumble.

It felt as if a storm was approaching.

["The mana concentration in the air is rising rapidly! What's happening?"]

Gustaf looked around trying to figure what's happening. When he noticed winter's mana concentration was rising every moment. It was so high that the weather began to change.

*crackle*

...

Somewhere inside Elvian observatory.

["Sir Albedo, we are detecting high Mana concentrations coming from South."]

["What! what's the level? Is it another demon beast attack?"]

["N..No s....sir it's higher than that, it's higher than any level we have ever seen. Its threat level cannot be measured"]

["W..what...is happening...contact the higher-ups quickly.

We might as well be near our doom!"]
